Hi all! Sorry to start a new thread but I'm on dialup atm so finding it hard to post on the old one as it's so long!

Happy New Year Everyone.

Mishi - course we blooming haven't managed to organise a meet without you to kick us all into touch . But how about having a meet up at Granmas at Hunts Cross on the morning of 23rd Jan 2005 (best after 20th as DH get's paid on 20th so better cash flow position!!)

OP posts:

jaamy he will be nearly 5 when he starts school. I thought the nursery would start him in the jan after his third bday but obviously not which is why i think he needs playschool or something only 2 sessions a week.

biglips · 06/02/2006 14:50

no - should i?

BROWNY · 06/02/2006 15:29

JAAMY - Yes, Starbucks is lovely and coffee is gorgeous, but it is very, very expensive. You should have popped over to M & S like us!!.

Nemo, dd2 was born early September - she actually started school on her 5th Birthday - she looked so much bigger than the others, some had just turned 4, so there was a massive difference. On the plus side, she was more than ready for reception and now she is top in her class for maths and is constantly being awarded 'pupil of the day' [boasting emoticon!! lol]

Biglips - I haven't got around to putting ds2's name down for nursery yet - should do though. I think you can put their name down from the September before the child's 2nd birthday.

jaamy · 06/02/2006 17:38

Biglips - just pop into the school and ask what their policy is - think it really depends how popular the school is. J has been on the list here since before she turned 1.
I know browny - starbucks very indulgent [naughty emoticon] but we had my mum with us and had already promised J cake when we got to speke hall. Don't think she'd have made it home!!!

biglips · 06/02/2006 17:41

well - dp wants dd to go to dp's old primary school and its a catholic school.. i havent even got round doing that yet getting babas baptised yet!! as im trying to dave the "dosh" atm to get it done and over with!!!

jaamy · 06/02/2006 20:22

Which school is it biglips? A friend of mine teaches in St elizabeth's. The two RC schools near us are awful so i'm sending J to the local cp which is in fact nearer than the RC schools.

biglips · 06/02/2006 20:34

Jaamy - the Star of the Sea in Seaforth

biglips · 06/02/2006 20:43

recorrection - Our Lady Star of the Sea RC primary school

jaamy · 07/02/2006 09:53

Oh ok, would have asked my friend what the admission policy was if it had have been St elizabeths's. Just popo in on your way past one day and see what they say.

jaamy · 07/02/2006 10:03

BTW - how did your evening go without DP. Did you enjoy some time to yourself? I bet DD was good for you and let you have a night with your feet up in front of the telly.
DH's week in londaon was cancelled so he's only in manchester this week. Means I have to do a mad run round and tidy up just before he gets home so he can't tell I've been on MN all day...hee hee hee!

biglips · 07/02/2006 11:32

actually im fine as he rang me last nite for a natter and cant wait for him to come home

BUT

the good thing is that we are not fighting over the computer cos hes not here LOL!!!!

biglips · 07/02/2006 11:33

i said to dp that i will check out the school next week

Nemo1977 · 07/02/2006 12:43

hi all
have been to baby massage this morning with just hannah as dh was home for adam. Have been on the phone aswell to a playschool who have said we can go and visit this afternoon..eeek!! Someone please tell me it is normal to panic about Adam being away from me. I know he will love it and he really needs it but it seems like such a big step

biglips · 07/02/2006 12:49

wow thats a big step to go and see the playschool as ive gotta sort mine too, will do it next week! im surely it will be ok and you will be able to spend time with DD

Nemo1977 · 07/02/2006 14:30

well adam loved it and he starts on monday for 2 afternoons a week eeeekk!!!!

BROWNY · 07/02/2006 14:36

Really glad Adam liked nursery, knew he would! They have tonnes of fun and make lots of nice little friens . I remember when ds1 started nursery, I cried my eyes out.... I couldn't wait to collect him, I felt like he was mine and they'd stolen him from me.

jaamy · 07/02/2006 14:53

Oh, so glad Adam liked playschool. I remember the first day I left J at nursery. I was certainly more upset than she was. She was less than 6 months old at the time. I was both upset and happy that she didn't cry when I left. And now I've got to do it all again with A in 6 weeks time

Nemo1977 · 07/02/2006 14:59

aww jaamy dont know how you can leave them so young although in some ways its probably better as when they get to the age where they can resist it they must be more used to it!! Well I will prob spend ost of monday sobbing as Hannah has her injections in the morning and then adam off to playschool in afternoon

jaamy · 07/02/2006 15:07

Nemo I HAVE to leave them as mr mortgage man says so!!! Believe me, I'd love to stay at home with them. A should be having her injections on Mon morning too if she can shake this cold.
Want to take her out for a ealk but the weather is too pooh!

jaamy · 07/02/2006 15:08

Of course it's a "walk" i want to do, not an "ealk"!!!!!

Nemo1977 · 07/02/2006 15:08

jaamy can empathise mr mortgage man is not very nice is he..lol Im just lucky that our mortgage isnt very big so we always said one of us would stay home and we just live on a extremely limited budget hence parents in law paying the bank breaking £10 a week playschool fees

BROWNY · 07/02/2006 16:25

Well I need some cheering up..... Peter's mum is coming in a minute.... believe me not a pleasant experience. She'll come in, leave her coat on and walk through to the garden for a smoke - honestly!! She can't go 5 minutes without one!! It's raining, but she'll be o.k., we've a large umberella on the bench!!.

I've always got my dad here, so I felt guilty and asked her to come for tea - no roast dinner tonight though - the sausage rolls are warming up in the oven lol!!!

biglips · 07/02/2006 16:37

so well GOOD LUCK!!!!! browny!

jaamy · 07/02/2006 16:56

I say take down the brolly and let her get wet!!! Hope it goes ok browny! Know how you feel. I don't like my in-laws, always treat my house as a hotel and BIL smokes far too much too. Makes the whole house stink even when they do it outside, doesn't it?

BROWNY · 07/02/2006 17:14

JAAMY - I can smell the smoke on her as soon as I open the front door - it's that BAD!! I don't like Peter taking the childrn there, she does open the windows and smokes in the kitchen, but the smoke gets everywhere! As soon as Peter brings them home, I put their clothes straight into the washing machine and kids in the bath!! The children tell her that she's killing herself!!
