Actually Suzywong has a very good point. It would be a good idea if we made a provisional plan on how to deal with the bill in advance. To avoid a fight between 80 rowdy women . I suggest just dividing it by the number of people. Saves people saying but I just had a salad and a glass of water when the bill arrives and by deciding in advance it means that those who do want to just have a salad and a glass of water will know that it is going to cost the same as everyone else.
I waitressed for years and believe me this is the easiest way, it may not be the fairest, but it is the easiest. And who really wants to be responsible for sorting out the bill with 80 strangers?

Tortington · 21/11/2005 15:10

To get to da Mario:

Out of Gloucester Road Tube Station, heading towards any signs that say ?Gloucester Road?. On Gloucester Road, turn left. Cross Cromwell Road. Go up Gloucester Road until about the level of Queens Gate. Da Mario is this big, unmissable place right on the corner. Link to: da Mario website which has a (not very good) map. Better to go to Multimap and put their postcode in, then you will see just where it is.

there is a plan - your all paying before you get pissed on entry to restuarant

OP posts:
gomez · 21/11/2005 15:12

Pre-payment very reasonable.

How do I settle up for the rest of my booze thou'? .

Carmenere · 21/11/2005 15:14

Excellent idea Custardo

Tortington · 21/11/2005 15:19

rest of booze at bar - i should imagine - you could ask the waiter for another bottle of wine - and pay for it at the bar.

i simply cannot do booze monitor. you have to pay for your own and thats it. as i intend to be excruciatingly pissed and i failed maths 3 times. but in principle i cannot see how we could work out a collective booze bill, as some dont like wine, some veggies are already moaning wine isn't vegararian, some are preggers and not drinking. its unworkable. there will be a bottle of wine on the table included in the bill, i absolutley intend to go hunting for the wine no f*cker is drinking

motherinferior · 21/11/2005 15:21

It'll be the one I'm clutching in my hot little hand and slurping out of with a straw.

gomez · 21/11/2005 15:22

I will fight you for those random half-full bottles Custy!

Okay - you win I am fair too soft to take you on.......

Carmenere · 21/11/2005 15:24

I'll buy you a drink for all the organisation you have selflessly taken on and I'd imagine I'm not the only one

bossykate · 21/11/2005 15:28

hi custy. please could you remind us how much the upfront cheque should be for and who it should be payable to?

thanks

crunchie · 21/11/2005 15:32

Tortington · 21/11/2005 19:12

Custy you scare me
But given that, make no mistake about my wine It's spoken for

Posey · 21/11/2005 20:22

I was hoping it was a GIANT table to seat 80. What if the people I sit with don't like me?! I am getting seriously nervous now!

hunkermunker · 21/11/2005 20:24

Is Custy setting up a stall with bunting and crepe paper at the entrance to hand out our badges and tick us off?

starlover · 21/11/2005 20:27

how much is it going to be?

BudaBabe · 21/11/2005 20:29

I would so like to be a fly on the wall!

Actually - scratch that - I would love to be there.

But I will be at Xmas drinks at Dh's boss's house.

Tortington · 21/11/2005 20:57

£33.90

OP posts:
JustineMumsnet · 21/11/2005 23:23

What's this? Why are we not on the list Custy - don't we count? It's me, Tech (yes Tech!) and Rachel. And all those after extra wine rations head my way, as am a v dull pregnant person. Regarding cheques is everyone ok if we just dispose of them rather than try and find everyone and return? Seems simpler...
