Hope this works, a shiny new thread girls - come on in Smile.

OP posts:
LaGuerta · 26/10/2011 21:29

All yesterday's scepticism has been proved justified today. Turns out our buyers are not prepared to sell to investor and are looking for new buyer. V unimpressed with our agent bullshitting us.

Other than that had a good day with stitching and boys.

disguisedeb · 26/10/2011 23:28

Lag, cant imagine how frustrating this must be for you, sending hugs

Funeral went well despite playing wrong music as we went into church! Queens we will rock you!!

LaGuerta · 27/10/2011 07:26

Thanks Deb.

What was the music meant to be?

WhatWouldLeoDo · 27/10/2011 08:41

Oh, what a nightmare LaG. I can't even begin to imagine how frustrating that must be. Glad you had a nice day with Stitching though.

Deb, I hope you're not offended but I did have a wee chuckle at the music. Was it a bit of a tension breaker or were people appalled? I hope it was the former.

Jealous of your short week Gig - I'm the same but it's no fun! Revising is going very slowly. I'd much rather be at work with my completed task list and empty inbox!!

disguisedeb · 27/10/2011 14:43

Music was supposed to be days of our lives or something like that, and when rock you started it was really loud, I was watching my Aunty thinking this will go either way and thankfully she saw the funny side and we all had a good laugh about it.It definitely broke the tension!! Worst part of the day was the crematorium, I always hate seeing the curtains close and the coffin move away, but after that it was fine and it was a celebration of his life rather than a miserable day. Then after it all Mum and I had a swim and jacuzzi inthe hotel so it was a really nice end to the day.

offer of 260,000 was rejected which we thought it might be , so we've upped it to 270 , just waiting now. Can't afford to go much higher now because of what needs doing to it.

disguisedeb · 27/10/2011 14:46

not offended at all leo!!

Gigondas · 27/10/2011 15:34

Fingers crossed re offer deb. glad funeral was a good way to remember your uncle but I know what you mean about crematorium and the curtains Sad.

Lag - am thinking of you and hideous estate agent / buyer situation Angry completely shit for you .

Leo- hope you are managing to get some stuff done.

Just had stitching to visit and her lovely boys- e completely done in but very happy as loved the visitors.

StitchingMoss · 27/10/2011 17:32

Shock at We Will Rock You Deb, though I suppose it could have been worse! Yes, coffin going behind curtains is hideous - although my friend who died was buried and I found that so much harder. Put me off being buried myself tbh (or no one will be allowed to watch it, not sure Blush.

LG, I am so Sad for you - only yesterday we were getting all excited about your impending move, new schools, etc Sad. Is it too late to cut your losses and rent out just so you can get schools sorted, and also break the chain?

Had a lovely day with Gig today - hope I've changed her nanny's mind about boys Grin Wink! Think she fell in love with DS2 Grin. Was lovely to see Gig and her DD looking so well.

Oooh, dinner ready - off to eat Smile.

Gigondas · 27/10/2011 17:54

Nanny is besotted with both your boys but ESP dd2 - they are very rare as usually she is most scathing about boys Grin

Gigondas · 27/10/2011 17:54

Ds2 Blush

StitchingMoss · 27/10/2011 18:06

I'm honoured! Grin My boys are adorable of course and I'm not remotely biased Wink!

LaGuerta · 27/10/2011 22:20

You're all very kind. I was feeling pretty angry about utter lies from our agent. Not helped by DH not being especially sympathetic about me having had to get the house ready for our buyer visiting to review fixtures and fittings which turned into a no show. Of course she was never coming and it was more lies from agent. Feeling better this afternoon. PILs here which is mostly a good thing. I am contemplating renting options. It would be a wrench to leave our house to go into something rented though.

Hope new offer gets accepted Deb. Glad the funeral was ok and the hotel bit was even pleasant. Liked that the music muddle up went down ok.

WhatWouldLeoDo · 27/10/2011 22:43

Furious for you LaG! Your agents are sounding pretty shoddy.

Fingers crossed re: next offer Deb.

I think your boys are lovely too Stitching! Liked the floor baking photos on fb.

Studying so so - swinging between wild optimism and mild panic mostly. Grin No change there then...

WhatWouldLeoDo · 28/10/2011 15:36

Until they said they were in the NW I thought this MNer was in your chain LaG!

gazundered thread

LaGuerta · 30/10/2011 19:12

That thread really sums up our situation too Leo. We are back on the market and had 3 viewings yesterday and one next week. Our buyers are meant to have had 6 viewings yesterday although I now think everything the agent says is a lie. Anyway, maybe something will happen off one of those viewings.

Any news Deb?

We had the second wedding last night of the couple whose Hindu wedding we went to the week before. This was black tie at a bona fide gentleman's club in Mayfair. It was as swanky as you might expect, but very good fun with great speeches, food, and lots of dancing. I really needed to let my hair down after this week. I also needed a night out with DH without kids and not obsessing about houses. Phew!

Gigondas · 30/10/2011 19:30

Glad wedding gave you a break. If its any comfort stitching told me where your buyers house was lag and there is a good market so maye the vermin ea wasn't completely lieing.

In Paris - quiet weekend with sickly dh (who isn't usually given to man flu but has been very low physically and fed up this week so I do think he is sick)and coughing dd.

Half watching strictly as I type (the magic of technology) whilst dh on phone to mil... Think Xmas arrangements were discussed but not sure what agreed.

LaGuerta · 31/10/2011 12:25

Yes, they are in "the Alberts" which is quite popular as far as I can tell.

How are everyone's DCs handling the clock change? Inevitably we have had wakeful children since before 5! (Leo I saw your fb comment, but you have paid the price in the evenings of late so will let you off!)

WhatWouldLeoDo · 31/10/2011 15:50

Grin LaG. Yep, no problems here. Didn't rush DS to bed too early (though he was in fact asleep much earlier than he has been of late) and he woke up about 8am (new time) on the Sunday so I was quite pleased!

Must study more so just popping in for a !

Gigondas · 31/10/2011 18:01

Hello all - not too bad in morning but dd took longer to settle at night .

Stitching are you taking boys trick or treating? We have a pumpkin but not much else Halloween ish and I have been making mincemeat (I expect the Kirsty allsop hormone surge will stop soon).

Oh and deb I stepped away from the playmobil advent calendar again this weekend- your words of warning about small parts went through my head Wink

Back to work tomorrow ... Sad

disguisedeb · 31/10/2011 20:31

well done Gig Grin

no news yet on offer, having 2nd thoughts ourselves though as there are 4 new houses being built in the same village and the thought of a much cheaper house to run and no major diy for a while is very tempting.

Lag - any house news

Worked today and it's a very lively class, 3 members of staff had warned me before the day began.I will be on my knees by next Monday night. Also Tristan's gone for 5 days residential with school and it does seem strange without him Sad

StitchingMoss · 31/10/2011 20:37

Quick post, yes we did go trick or treating - it was great fun and the boys absolutely loved it Grin.

Too tired to say anything else - hi to all x

Gigondas · 31/10/2011 20:59

At least the other houses give you alternatives deb. glad you are getting more teaching even if it's tiring.

Dd disappointed we had no Halloween party but she can't remember the festival of tat taste that is my Xmas decorations and promised her a tea party for Xmas for her friends.

LaGuerta · 31/10/2011 21:57

Houses - one viewing of three is coming back next weekend for a second look. Last minute viewing this evening. Another viewing tomorrow. So five viewings in four days is good going from the new agents. Our existing buyers have had a cheeky offer and are in negotiations. Will have to wait and see...

Deb - how frustrating not to have heard back yet.

Gigondas · 31/10/2011 22:02

Fingers and toes crossed for you - lag

Deb- isn't it church property? In which case u can see offer being a long time to sort

StitchingMoss · 01/11/2011 11:41

Brilliant news LG - surely something must come from all that movement in your chain this week?

Tough choice Deb, but I wouldn't want a 'project' house with young kids - personal thing though Blush.
