Hi rubyone, I'm in Edinburgh too, relatively new to Mumsnet and would be interested in a meetup

JanHR · 29/09/2003 22:03

I live in Burton but will be visiting my parents in livingston next month.
I would be happy to meet up in Edinburgh

rubyone · 30/09/2003 20:05

Hi there,

I've got a very lively 14 month old boy - how about you two? I'm an older mum (38) though all the other mums I know are the same age - there's a lot of us oldies around!

I share care with my partner (we both work at home) so can meet with or without kids.

What would you prefer?

Hi - 38 not at all old! I'm 34 with 2 boys age 5 months and 3 years. I work Mon-Wed, partner works erratic hours so maybe better to meet with children for me right now. Maybe a softplay centre - there's plenty around with cafes for us. What do you think?

JanHR · 30/09/2003 21:24

Hi there, I am 33 with 14 month old DD. I am not sure what mum has planned whilst I am up, but I am sure she will be ok with me coming into Edinburgh either with or withour DD.

Loobie · 01/10/2003 16:03

M2T · 01/10/2003 16:40

I'm in Falkirk... I keep missing the Scottish meet-ups!! I'd like to come along.

I'm 25 with a 2.3 year old ds...

rubyone · 01/10/2003 16:59

I haven't been to any soft play centres yet! Can you suggest one? My boy still has morning naps (hurray!) and I work pm, so would need to meet 11.30ish. Will that suit everyone?

JanHR · 01/10/2003 18:38

11.30 should be fine.
what day?
I will be at mums 20th-24th October.

applepie · 02/10/2003 11:55

Would Fri 24 October be OK with you? Little Marcos (upstairs within Marcos Gym) on Grove Street has parking and is central for anyone coming by bus/train - 10 mins walk from Haymarket Station. It has a snack bar and tables for picnics if we can get the darlings to sit down for lunch too!

JanHR · 02/10/2003 16:14

Friday should be ok for me.

M2T · 02/10/2003 16:18

I'll be working.

JanHR · 02/10/2003 17:29

What abou thursdat M2T?

rubyone · 02/10/2003 20:35

Thursday is fine for me so long as it's 11.30. Is Little Marcos the soft play centre place?

OP posts:
applepie · 02/10/2003 21:32

Thursday OK with me too. Little Marcos is a soft play centre for toddlers & older children too as various play areas.

JanHR · 02/10/2003 21:40

Anyone else going in by train want to meet at Haymarket and walk to Marcos together?

debbiej · 02/10/2003 21:48

Hiya!! Room for one and half more??

I was at the last meet up in August and would fancy coming to this one, especially as I don't work Thursdays or Fridays! I have a ds whose 21 months old. I've never taken the wee man to Marcos. Thursday 23rd October???

Loobie · 02/10/2003 21:55

i could possibly make it but have to be home by 2.40 for ds coming out of school, will check out train times and let you know,i would like to meet you at the train station janh if i go as i havent a clue about direction etc and would just get lost.

JanHR · 02/10/2003 22:09

We can get lost together then Loobie as I have no Idea of how to get there form the statin either.
Applepie can you post direction from Haymarket staino for us?

JanHR · 02/10/2003 22:10

Waher are you coming from Loobie?

rubyone · 02/10/2003 22:33

Great. So it looks like it's going to be thursday 23rd October at 11.30am at Marcos. Looking forward to meeting everyone! You can just turn up, right? No need to book or anything?

I would suggest that on the morning we all look this site up in case - by some freak chance - everyone has had to cancel. Would be horrible for someone to turn up and sit there all on their own! Still, I think there's enough of us now that it really would be a freakish thing for no one at all to turn up

OP posts:
Loobie · 03/10/2003 11:45

janh i am coming from livingston

M2T · 03/10/2003 11:51
