There seem to be loads of us here, so why not? I'm still new (only been here two weeks) so would be great to meet some new faces.

I don't mind what/where/when!...

I'll come. Just need plenty of advance warning as we've moved from Norwich ish to further west and I don't drive but would still like to tag along.

Am ShowOfHands normally, this is my jolly, festive name.

There needs to be access to cake though.

MegBusset · 19/12/2010 13:27

Hooray I won't be billy no- mates then Grin

I am pretty easy about dates/times/place, I do have preschoolers at home in the week though DS1 will be at preschool in the afternoons.

Cake sounds good :)

I love cake. Have no little ones though - all mine are tall and ugly and at big school. Let's not do Aldis cafe. Welcome to our fine city, Meg. How are the locals treating you?

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 19/12/2010 13:38

Did someone metion cake? I'll come! Although, to be fair I am equally as interested in SOH's evil pussies.

MegBusset · 19/12/2010 15:21

Splendid, more the merrier. Intrigued about evil pussies...

OP posts:
MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 19/12/2010 15:39

evil pussies here

MegBusset · 30/12/2010 22:12

Quick bump to see if we can get some dates in mind, if no replies here I'll PM people...

OP posts:
bronze · 04/01/2011 00:18

Did you arrange anything?

MissBeehiving · 12/01/2011 20:09

Bumping - CALLING NORFOLK MNERS

Are we doing it then?

MegBusset · 12/01/2011 20:09

Oh yes let's :)

I have no idea where/what though Blush

OP posts:
MissBeehiving · 12/01/2011 20:28

Great. I'll PM the others on the thread and see if we can get a date and place.Smile

Hassled · 12/01/2011 22:09

Oh I think I may well be up for this .

MegBusset · 12/01/2011 22:10

Oh Hassled you have to, after all the good advice you gave me on numerous other threads before we moved!

OP posts:
ShowOfHands · 12/01/2011 22:14

Oh yes I'll be there with bells on. Well not bells. This is Norfolk after all. I'd be herded.

Let's choose the place first. MaccyD? Grin

Um what sort of thing do you want? And where? Norwich city centre? There are a couple of nice teashops in the city or some niceish places around St Benedicts sort of area.

ShowOfHands · 12/01/2011 22:15

Oh and Meg, where did you move to and do you like it?

cazboldy · 12/01/2011 22:17

I will come along!

MegBusset · 12/01/2011 22:53

I moved to TSA and yes I do like it although still very much getting used to Naaarch life!

I have car/bus pass will travel, anywhere in the city is fine with me. If on a weekday will be with one or two small people... if it was a weekend I could leave them at home...

OP posts:
ShowOfHands · 12/01/2011 23:07

I used to live in TSA (next to the Townhouse, just down from River Green if that means anything to you?).

DH is a copper so he works ridiculous shifts. Meaning I may or may not have a 3yr old schlepping behind me asking embarrassing and personal questions (her forté).

ShowOfHands · 12/01/2011 23:09

I've just nosed at your profile. I love Thomas Pynchon and Kurt Vonnegut. Let's meet up in a bookshop! Wink

MegBusset · 12/01/2011 23:23

You have fine taste! I haven't actually got as far as a bookshop yet although I love the sound of the Tombland Bookshop. I have been to the Forum library loads but never made it out of the children's section.

I'm not sure where the Townhouse is but the River Green looks lovely. We're up in the estate.

Is MissBeehiving being organised and sending PMs round, then? [letting someone else do the hard work emoticon]

OP posts:
ShowOfHands · 12/01/2011 23:40

If you drove from River Green (oh Saturday mornings in Harley's cafe) back towards Norwich down Yarmouth Road (towards the bottom of Harvey Lane), the Townhouse is down there, on the river. Well not literally on the river, but oh you know...

Tombland Bookshop is just lovely. Oh the Forum. God I miss Norwich. Sad

I assume you've found the Startrite outlet shop? My top tip for Norwich is always that.

Fimbo · 13/01/2011 09:29

Also need to lose about 4 stone first!

I work for an hour a day at lunchtime which kind of messes things up, especially as I don't drive.

I could do a weekend day, don't know how I would explain it to dh though. He would think I was mad meeting strangers from t'net! Eek.

Maybe I could just not say anything and tell him I need a day in town alone.

Will consider...

KurriKurri · 13/01/2011 12:34

I'd be up for it (I will need time to lose a lot of weight, grow some hair, and become much younger) - don't worry Fimbo, I am strange, but harmless Grin

I'm not working atm so I can fit easily round what is convenient for everyone else.

MegBusset · 13/01/2011 13:00

Fimbo we're not strangers. Just friends you haven't eaten cake with yet Grin

OP posts:
Hassled · 13/01/2011 13:14

Fimbo - you'll be going for a cuppa with some people you've got to know and who you just haven't happened to mention to him yet. Does he tell you about everyone he meets? The internet needn't come up :o.

I work P/T from home (and another one here who doesn't drive - what is it about Norfolk?!) so am pretty flexible.
