Do you think we can start up a new 'Liverpool Mums' thread? - if I remember right, the last one fizzled out! Hope to have a good laugh/moan soon!

Ooh hello, Im Emma and im from Liverpool too, I have a daughter called Eve who is nearly 2 and a half and am 30 weeks pregnant with a little boy.

BROWNY · 19/09/2005 11:53

Yay!!! So it's not just me then!! Hi, I'm from Allerton, I have four little-ones, mind you they're not so little now: dd (nearly 10[shock}, dd2 8years, ds 6 years and ds2 16 months old.

Congratulations on your pregnancy, and very clever of you to have a boy this time! I found out my baby's sex with the last three of mine, I found it really helped to enjoy the pregnancy even more, it sort of made it more real, to know there was a little boy or girl in there!!

Do you go to any mums & toddler groups? I go to one on a Monday in Allerton!

OP posts:
edodgy · 19/09/2005 11:59

HIya I live in garston/grassendale area, not been to any mums and toddlers round here yet but intend to after baby is born. Which toddler group do you go to?
I agree with the finding out the sex I found out with my dd too this time i know for definate its a boy because I had to have an amnio due to the baby having renal pelvic dilatation. Results gave us the all clear and i have my 30 week scan tommorrow to check on his kidneys.

BROWNY · 19/09/2005 12:04

You must have been so worried, glad the results were clear - good luck for tomorrow at your scan - I bet you can't wait to see him on the scan again!.

I go to a mums & toddlers in All Soul's Church, on Mather Avenue, it's a lovely big, warm, clean hall and it's quite popular (but not overcrowded). A lot of mums take their toddlers too, I took my little boy up until he started school at 4 years old.

I've just put my little fella down for a nap and am going to sit down for five minutes with a cup of tea, before I try to tackle the ironing!! YUK!

OP posts:
edodgy · 19/09/2005 12:11

Haha enjoy the ironing! I may give all soul's a try once baby is here as its in reasonable walking distance from here. Im just gonna go and make us some lunch now we're both full of colds so im hoping she sleeps later so i can too!

BROWNY · 19/09/2005 12:30

Ahhh, you poor things!! Plenty of Calpol for your dd then, a sleep will do you the world of good!. It'll be nice to meet up when your baba is born, I've only got to glimpse a newborn and I go all broody - there's no room left in our little house for any more tho! Enjoy your lunch - will post soon

BROWNY · 19/09/2005 14:49

Hi Joec,

Yes you have, but it was a good while agao, nice to see you around on here. Maybe we can keep this thread going for longer than the other! My little fella has just woken up, so I'd better go to him - will post later

OP posts:
joec · 19/09/2005 16:40

yes, things have been quiet for a while on the liverpool front.
hope your brood are all ok.just picked my 2 eldest up from school and a susual ended up with dd1's friend playing upstairs as well as my own !!!!!

BROWNY · 20/09/2005 10:21

Hi Joec,

You sound just like me, all my lots friends follow me around everywhere, the local shops etc. They're always asking their mums if they can go with me somewhere - very nice for their mums but a different story for me!

They're all settling back into school life - hurray!!. My ds2 is 16 months old now - it's a lovely age, he's into everthing but very cute with it! Maybe we'll get to meet up one day!

biglips · 20/09/2005 10:39

hi there!! ... i thought ill make the effort again to meet as i did meet the others once who doesnt post on here anymore and then suddenly it fizzled out byan argument so i just stayed in the background for a bit

im from Seaforth and ive got a DD who is nearly 1 on 1st Oct (gulp!)... i go to playcentre with baba on Wed afternoons and thurs mornings in Litherland and ive started a baby sign classes but the cost to join is

biglips · 20/09/2005 10:41

one of my friend just had a baby boy last friday (i love to have a boy!) so im getting abit broody but dont want another till DD is 2-3(i hope!)

BROWNY · 20/09/2005 10:44

Hiya Biglips,

I remember speaking to you before when your dd was only 15 weeks old!. Where does the time go? I wanted to join a baby sign lanuage class but no-one runs any by me, the closest was in Waterloo - I think that's the one you go to isn't it?

I bought a basic dvd from e-bay and started showing my ds when he was 10 months old, he only took about six weeks to sign back - WAS I IMPRESSED!. He signs all the time for milk, water, food and all the time - MORE! Everyone thinks he's so clever - and it definately makes life more easier - the smile on his face when he gets what he's asked for is amazing!

I thought I'd try and start the Liverpool Thread up again, it might be easier for newcomers from Liverpool to chat to us

joec · 20/09/2005 10:45

hi browny, and biglips....
hows your day going so far?
yes it would be nice to meet up.
live in bootle so think we are all quite far away from each other.
just waiting for a phone call to say my dd2 can start nursery hopefully in the next couple of weeks.
cant wait. will be nice to spend some time on my own with ds2. maybe get him walking at last

BROWNY · 20/09/2005 10:49

Morning Joec,

I haven't done a thing this morning yet, the house needs an army of cleaners - not just little old me!. I've just put ds2 down for his nap - I didn't realise our two were so close in age - my ds2 is 16 months old now.

It would be nice to meet up somewhere central to us all - even it is in MacDonalds in town maybe? Good excuse for a McFlurry!!

OP posts:
BROWNY · 20/09/2005 10:56

Biglips, have you had a look at these websites for a cosytoes: they're sleeping bag style cosytoes, they look gorgeous and cosy but very expensive!

/link{http://www.pushchairs.co.uk}
/link{http://www.budget-bumps.co.uk}

Don't know if the links will work but have a look anyway!

OP posts:
joec · 20/09/2005 10:58

ye, maccies in town sounds ok, and kids always love going there.
your house sounds like mine. never tidy whatever you do to it.
just go from one room to another picking up stuff and then picking it all up again the next time i am in the room !!!!!!!!

BROWNY · 20/09/2005 11:03

Joec, psml! We've got a table that we're supposed to eat at, but it is constantly covered in stuff - any kind of stuff, but the moment I clear it (which usually takes half of the day), it is covered in the same kind of stuff again - WHAT'S THE POINT - I feel like I'm wasting my life tidying up - my brother bought me a fridge magnet that says, "Tidying up when the kids are little, is like shovelling snow when it's still snowing!" How right is that?

Is anyone else up for a meet up: lunch in Macdonalds? Arn't we big spenders then?lol

OP posts:
biglips · 20/09/2005 11:03

well ive had a look on ebay, which i like this one!

biglips · 20/09/2005 11:04

at browny about the fridge magnet!!

BROWNY · 20/09/2005 11:05

Yes, that looks like a really nice one - problem for me is that my ds2, has very long legs (98th centile), so I'll need a longer one!

Did you see the price of the Snuggle Bay on pushchairs.co.uk? Yikes!!

OP posts:
biglips · 20/09/2005 11:08

get ya knitting kit out!!

BROWNY · 20/09/2005 11:14

Biglips - You're joking surely!!

The last time I had by needles out, I knitted a very long scarf for my Sindy doll - and I couldn't even cast-off, my Nan had to do it for me!!

P.S. Arn't they lovely colours!
