Ooh ouch Custy! I hope you're OK and they're giving you some good painkillers.

lowrib · 20/09/2010 18:49

Just checking - is it the 9th? I hope so, I can come if it is.

Also, a slight diversion, I hope it's OK ... I've got a question for you Sussex types - how long would you leave to drive from Eastbourne to Brighton hospital if you want to be in the hospital by 9.30am?

(I should say it's my lodger not me who's going, before you nice people offer sympathy!)

I know that road's meant to be bad in the mornings, but just how bad exactly?!

Also can you park at the hospital?

TIA Smile

PestoEatsPastiesandSurfboards · 20/09/2010 18:58

I might be able to escape join you. Depends how DH is at the time. So, a provisional yes from me.

Lowrib, DH says he would leave a good hour or so beforehand. I probably would leave about an hour and a half, myself though. The hospital does have a car park, but it is generally full with a long wait to get in to it. Therefore you will probably have to park on one of the surrounding streets. These have meter parking, but you must be careful, because there is a lot of 'residents only' parking aswell. You just have to troll round and round until you find a space. Sometimes you are lucky, other times you may have to park a way away, that's why I would allow an extra 20 minutes or so to park up, and walk back to the hospital.

Good luck Smile

shortandsweet2 · 20/09/2010 19:29

Oooo custy hope you are ok. xxx

Hi Lowrib, my DH is from Eastbourne and he said at worse case with heavy traffic would be about 1.5hrs.

I think it is the 9th Oct, it depends on how everyone else is fixed :)

MABS · 20/09/2010 21:20

9th in my diary (bad day today, ds ended up at hospital all day, think ok now tho)

Mabs I'm sorry to hear that, I hope he's feeling better now.

lowrib · 22/09/2010 10:17

Thanks for the driving tips. We drove our lodger over, we left nearly an hour and a half on your advice, and it took a bit over an hour so we got there in good time, thanks. Smile

MABS · 22/09/2010 13:14

ds doing very well today! x

That's great news MABS, My lodger has to have an op this week too. It's nothing too major but she's one of those people who often just doesn't react well to drugs. We've got some DVDs to cheer her up as she'll be recovering for a bit I think.
