Right.

Next Friday 27th. Venue to be decided.

Predictably, my vote goes to the Royal Festival Hall as a) it's easy for us Essex gals to get to (Stratford to Waterloo on the Jubilee Line) and b) I'm meeting a friend at Waterloo in the morning anyway - will have both DCs with me so would like to minimise traipsing if poss. Not to mention c) I am boring and have no imagination whatsoever.

Just across the bridge (which has lifts both ends) is Victoria Embankment Gardens if the weather's nice, and not too big that the littlies can stray very far. It has a cafe too. Not been there for years but it is very nice as I remember.

Any other suggestions welcome of course.

Effie/Jam I will be getting the 9.29 from Kelvedon to Stratford.

So, who's in? Ooh, can't wait!

Great, and yup, I am in. RFH is fine by me. I will be bringing the angelic looking beastling, of course.

JamInMyWellies · 19/08/2010 17:16

Excellent I am up for that.

I will prob drive to the Wharf and park at DH work then Jubilee line it from there.

I will obviously have both monsters who will either be on cracking form or suicidal. Grin

If they are suicidal I will be too and will be hissing at them alot.

Now what to wear?

Veggiemummy · 19/08/2010 19:24

RFH is good for me and is spooky as was thinking of those gardens for a possible place to run the boys down...actually I was thinking of that wine bar near it and thoughts strayed to the gardens. Jam I'll be at the wharf in the morning so might see you on the Jubers.

Thanks for starting the thread I'd been meaning to but procrastinating a bit.

Right I'm orf to tell Bisou and Turnip. Is there anyone else who only FBs that I should tell?

So excited!!!!

urbanewarrior · 19/08/2010 21:56

yes hurrah i'm definitely up for - will have both DCs and possibly a truly D 9 year old niece with me who if push came to shove could competently look after any/all of our DCs.

Can't wait

Veggiemummy · 20/08/2010 08:17

Oh Urbane I'm so pleased you can come & DS1 loves older women so may monopolise her time a bit. Will be nice for our 2 DD1's to see each other again too.

LadyThompson · 20/08/2010 08:55

This is going to be lovely, hurrah.

JumpJockey · 20/08/2010 11:00

Help me with my meet-up dilemma ladies! I have a meeting at work from 9-11, which can't be avoided. Do I a) come along without dd and leave her at nursery, thus meaning a fabulously relaxed lunch but no chance to show her off give her some fun with new friends, or b) pick her up straight away from nursery, lunch on the train and then hope she has a kip and doesn't melt-down on the commuters on the way home?

LadyThompson · 20/08/2010 15:58

That's a toughie, JJ.

Option 1: you might find more relaxing but on the other hand...

Option 2: well, I brazen the commuters out now. I wouldn't worry.

Not much help, was I? Grin

Veggiemummy · 20/08/2010 17:00

If it was me I would leave her in nursery meet us then go on a childfree shopping trip!

Avocadoes · 23/08/2010 15:35

Hello!

Just back from the States. I haven't had time to look at the main thread yet but Veggola sent me a link to this. I hope everyone is flourishing.

I would love to come on Friday. Can't wait. I will have both girls with me and DD2 may be in a nap-less strop but never mind that. What time are we meeting (forgive me if that is obviously stated somewhere, my poor jet-lagged eyes may be failing me).

LadyThompson · 23/08/2010 15:48

Welcome back dear Avo. I can't see a start time either.

JamInMyWellies · 23/08/2010 16:06

Didnt veg say something about 1ish

I actually have no idea how to get to RFH from the tube station.

Veggiemummy · 23/08/2010 19:24

Yeah 1pm, & Avo DS2 may be joining your DD2 in a nap deprived hysteria if I can't get him off to sleep earlier.

KiwiPanda · 24/08/2010 06:33

I'll be there! JJ I will be without DD and therefore v chilled! She's a nursery so theoretically I could go and pick her up but like you (or rather JJDD!) it would be naptime and therefore meltdown would probably ensue. Instead I will he'll wrangle other toddlers and have a large glass of cheerfulness

Actually have the day off with DH so maybe will persuade him to come and say hello but he tends to get all shy ...

Rubena · 24/08/2010 09:42

I am going to do my best to get there with dd but without Houdini DS Grin it will be mil and / or parent's dependent, as I haven't asked them yet.

KiwiPanda · 24/08/2010 18:56

I have realised that i'be double booked myself - idiot - so will not be around till about 3 and only briefly alas. But will definitely come find you then

Veggiemummy · 24/08/2010 20:20

Oh Kiwi that's a shame will be good to see you whatever time. I think my DH wants to come and meet the mysterious MN ladies but is also a bit shy so let me know if your DH is coming as would have another boy to play with.

Pubie I would really love if you could come, but please don't shatter yourself trying to do it. By the way do you & lady live near Oxford?

SummerLightning · 24/08/2010 21:41

Hello, hopefully I am coming, just with the small tiny one as DS is in nursery. DH may be coming down to london with me to go to lunch with someone so he might pop in and say hello too..

LadyThompson · 24/08/2010 22:53

Yay for all those with tiny ones who might manage to come along! Veggie, I live nearish to Oxford but Rubes doesn't really, just west of London. As for these nervous DHs, I'm quite prepared to make an exception and leave the cauldron, cloak and possibly even the broomstick at home just this once Wink

Veggiemummy · 25/08/2010 08:56

I have friend who lives in Oxford Lady who I might visit later in the year just with DS2, so might be able to meet up then as well.

Lady is RFH ok for you to get to, you sound so shattered at the moment is there anywhere better for you?

LadyThompson · 25/08/2010 11:45

Oooh, well that would be lovely. You can have a bed if we are in the house, should you need one!

I am fine getting to RFH. As soon as I get into Paddington I get strangely energised...

EffiePerine · 25/08/2010 15:16

I can make Friday! What time are we meeting? And can you get a buggy on the Jubilee line?

KiwiPanda · 26/08/2010 11:17

Veggie we will definitely drop by together then, DH says he'll brave you all!

Effie As far as I know the Jubilee line is fine, assuming you mean pushchair type? I read a notice I'd never seen before at Pimlico yesterday saying prams aren't allowed on the Victoria line, which I never knew!

JamInMyWellies · 26/08/2010 17:49

Hi all

really failing to keep up this wk.

Looking forward to tom

is there an area in RFH that we are meeting?

Am pretty sure the jubilee line is buggy friendly if not I will have to carry buggy, sling DS2 and carry DS1 on my front pack horse styleee

EffiePerine · 26/08/2010 17:58

Hooray, will get train from Stratford. What time???
