Hi I would love to join. I followed idiot proof diet 3 years ago and lost 40kgs from 123kg down to 83 size 22 down to 12/14.
I still follow low carb but have crept back up 8kgs in the past 2 years since starting to work fulltime again and not having as much exercise time.
I am still in size 14 but definately not a 12 anymore and some of my 14s are feeling tight. I need to cut choc and alcohol and nuts! and up my water.

I'll add my name to the list after I manage to name change. This username was for the last Bootcamp.

DuggiWontSleep · 28/12/2013 08:43

Count me in too pls! I can't copy and paste on my iPhone so pls somebody add my name to the list. Quick qu BIWI-I have an under active thyroid and generally feel very tired, which when coupled with fat and a toddler is not great. Will LC be ok for me? I tend to give up when dieting as fi can start to feel dizzy and extremely tired Hmm

BIWI · 28/12/2013 09:48

Duggie - I dont know about that - I'm not a doctor nor am I medically trained. But I'll see what I can find out for you.

I'm in! Only had 3 days of real indulgence over Christmas but still feeling untoned and out of condition. Could do with knocking off another stone really to get to where I want to be. This is a great opportunity to do it. Hurray!

Thanks for organising BIWI. It's going to be a good one, I can feel it.

Please can someone kind add me to the list as I can't seem to c and p on this phone. Many thanks

MrsHerculePoirot · 28/12/2013 10:06

Thanks chipping!

Someone asked about if this was a permanent change - yes! In the long run you will probably choose to eat low carb, but not necessarily as low as bootcamp. I honestly will never eat the same way as I used to. This way of eating has transformed my life, my diabetic control, my blood results are amazeballs - having been a bit rubbish previously and I know for me it is the healthiest way to go.

Dreamingofcakeallnight · 28/12/2013 10:06

Me too!!!

HumphreyCobbler · 28/12/2013 10:07

Gosh I AM looking forward to being thin again

Baby Cobbler is nearly three months, I did six weeks of no wheat, no sugar when he was six weeks old but then lapsed heavily at the beginning of December. This time I am going to go for proper ketosis as nothing I can see seems to state this is incompatible with breastfeeding.

LittlePudding1 · 28/12/2013 11:41

Please can you add me in too, apologies can't copy and paste from this tablet. I followed the Dukan before Christmas but couldn't maintain it for longer than 3 weeks so am going to give the Harcombe a try in January.Really need to lose about a stone and a half.

BIWI · 28/12/2013 11:49

Duggie

Are you on medication at the moment? How much do you weigh now and how tall are you? And have you talked to your GP about losing weight?

OP posts:
BIWI · 28/12/2013 11:49

Interesting piece here about hypothyroidism and low carbing

OP posts:
BIWI · 28/12/2013 11:57

This is a really interesting thread - which shows that it's a pretty complicated issue

Duggie I'm not happy to make a recommendation to you, because it goes way, way, way beyond my level of knowledge. It looks as if low carbing would be safe, but I wouldn't be happy about you starting to low carb without you talking it through with your doctor first.

GatoradeMeBitch · 28/12/2013 13:17

DuggiWon'tSleep Sorry, I know this isn't a discussion thread - but I am hypo too, and active on the healthunlocked thyroid board. Low carbing is seen as an excellent diet option for most of us, there has been a lot of success with it.

BIWI · 28/12/2013 13:35

Thanks, Gatorade. Do you have any links that you could post, just in case there is anyone else with similar issues/concerns?

OP posts:
DuggiWontSleep · 28/12/2013 13:41

BIWI-yes I'm on medication for it and blood tests all show that it is well controlled. I think tiredness is mainly due to lack of sleep-toddler still wakes during then night :( I have a doctors appt on Monday so will speak to him about low carbing. Thank you for the responses BIWI and thank you for this thread :)

BIWI · 28/12/2013 14:01

Be prepared for an anti-low carbing view! Might be worth having a look at Gatorade's board and seeing what others in your situation are saying about low carbing? Give you a bit more 'ammunition' before you talk to the GP. It might also be a good idea to print out the Bootcamp rules to show him/her, to make sure that they understand what it's all about.

OP posts:
BIWI · 28/12/2013 14:03

Bootcamp rules

Here's a link in case you haven't got them!

OP posts:
WhomessweetWhomes · 28/12/2013 14:08

I'm in (again). Started the last bootcamp, lost weight dramatically, stalled, gave up. Have half-heartedly tried to get back on the waggon since but failed to do so properly. I am now utterly convinced that lc is the way, but need the strength and support to get on with it again. (I'm Holmessweetholmes, still under my not-so-cunning Dr Who name change.)
