Come and fill in the spreadsheet

Only two weeks to go before we finish this challenge. Time to drop a few more pounds!

But go easy with those strawberries ...

ANNOUNCEMENT!

Can I ask you all to please go here and complete the survey for me/MNHQ?

We're investigating ways to make more of Bootcamp on MN and it would be fantastic to get all of your views. Please complete the survey and, if you wish, add any comments on the thread as well.

many thanks
Flowers

Chipping Flowers - so sorry about your dad.

Today my eating is all over the place. A slice of ham here, a teaspoon of peanut butter there, a few coffees, totally random small protein shake made out of whey powder - not something I have been having on this WOE at all. It's still all pretty low carb but think I need to do some planning for dinner before I accidentally grab a slice of bread or biscuit. It is all a bit mindless today.

Pretty - you are an inspiration! I want to have weight in 3 figures by end of bootcamp too! Healthy BMI is still over a stone away sadly.

Definitely not giving up coffee so really will have to investigate the bullet proof option to justify my caffeine addiction.

loopyloou · 25/06/2013 15:27

NewStart, I used to drink about ten mugs of tea with milk and sugar a day. Now I only drink black decaff coffee without sugar. It tastes no different to me than caffeinated coffee, have you tried it? There are some rubbish ones but Kenco is very nice Smile You'll have a couple of days withdrawal symptoms, i.e. tiredness, headaches, but that passes quickly and it's nice to not need coffee to wake you up anymore Smile

kotinka (and anyone else) - if you have in the past weighed in on the spreadsheet your details should still be there - scroll to the tabs furthest on the right and look through them for your name and all your weigh-in details should still be there

the spreadsheet has been going in various incarnations since the first April 2012 bootcamp

BIWI · 25/06/2013 16:17

kotinka - it doesn't matter if you haven't been through the whole one - your views are still important. There's a question there anyway about how long you were on any of the Bootcamps!

BIWI - I too am (I think) post-menopausal, although I am a wee bit Wink younger than you, at 52! Grin

So no age excuses from ANYONE ! GrinGrin

although it does mean we no longer have the excuse of "Time of the Month" Hmm

78bunion · 25/06/2013 16:44

Vegetarian ideas - perhaps put a lot of butter on veg.
Also avocados
Eggs if not vegan?
I eat meat 3 times a day so it's not really an issue for me.

BIWI · 25/06/2013 16:50

It's well over a year since I had a period, so I hope I'm post-menopausal! But yes, prettybird - no excuse any more Grin

Sioo

MrsHerculePoirot · 25/06/2013 18:04

I am bbq-ing butternut squash which is either going to be amazeballs or inedible...

BillComptonstrousers · 25/06/2013 18:04

I use My Fitness Pal alongside the low carbing ( I know I don't have to count calories) I just discovered the daily pie chart on there, and on average I'm eating 60% fat 30% protein 10% carbs. The fats seem really high, should I try upping the protein more?

MrsHerculePoirot · 25/06/2013 18:05

No! That sounds perfect... I think!!!

BIWI · 25/06/2013 18:09

No, Bill, that sounds fine - as long as you're happy with your food, and you're losing the weight.

kotinka tea for me will be marinated salmon with stir-fried vegetables. DH will have noodles or rice with his.

I am having leftover roasted pork belly and crackling with buttered steamed asparagus and kale

ToomuchIsBackOnBootcamp · 25/06/2013 18:47

Evening all, biwi hope you get lots of responses.

B 2 slices bacon, mushrooms, a few small tomatoes all fried in butter
L smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with a tiny side salad (out)
D mince sauce on little gem leaves

Lunch was out today with a friend in a lovely new cafe, lots of amazing teas, pastries, muffins, cakes etc etc ... But I resisted and I ordered the salmon and scrambled eggs, which was a lovely generous portion ... Served on a croissant !! It didn't say that on the menu. But I left the whole soggy scraped croissant on my plate next time I will know to ask for no croissant (and hopefully get even more SS/eggs in place!)

Yesterday I didn't believe my scales giving me a loss of 2 lbs after STS for so long, tried again today, they gave me another pound off! I like them. So 3lbs off, looks like cutting down heavily on dairy is the key for me to kick start loss again. Now 5 lbs away from my "magic number".

MrsHerculePoirot · 25/06/2013 18:48

Amazeballs to the bbq butternut squash!

chipping I reckon a good one for the veggies - bbq'd butternut squash and halloumi kebabs would be delish!!!

L - lettuce, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, avocado and grilled goats cheese
D - pork medallions with a cream cheese and cheddar topping, low carb chipolata, bbq butternut squash, lettuce, cucumber
S - two slices of emmenthal rolled up with salted butter and a mini-pepparmi!

BIWI · 25/06/2013 18:49

Brilliant, Toomuch - just shows how much of an impact dairy can have on us

I made spag bol for the others, I ate the sauce over cauliflower and broccoli with some melted cheese.

I also had a large snack at 3:30pm of a salad. Only thing is that i might be a little low on fat for today but did get my veg in the end. Also managed to stop myself from taste testing the pasta for readiness. Although I did have to take the piece of pasta out of my mouth and put it in the bin and I very nearly forgot Blush

Did ok with the water but too much coffee.

Chipping I find that i am super sensitive to the stimulant effect of coffee and that it kinda has the same affect as bright colouring on kids. Tends to send me a little unfocus with the resultant energy buzz. Good as it lets me do stuff when I am really low energy wise (although it is bad as it is only borrowed energy that needs to be paid paid)

Loopy Right now i need my caffine fix to get through the day. It is like my emotional crutch. I know i need to get rid of it in the long run BUT right now i am not strong enough with everything else that is going on to ditch the coffee and the carbs. I want to get the carbs bit sorted first and then when i am more balanced in that i will then tackle the caffine. Because clearly life has no intentions of throwing less complicated or draining circumstances at me for a while, although thankfully it is better then it has been in a long run.

An interesting piece here Probably what we all know, but a useful reminder nevertheless

Good point, kotinka.

But also definitely worth reminding everyone of the need to keep a higher proportion of fat in our diets than we naturally feel comfortable with given advice over the last 30 years or so.
