Morning all.

Come and fill in the spreadsheet

Only two weeks to go before we finish this challenge. Time to drop a few more pounds!

But go easy with those strawberries ...

Berry - did you get bruises or stiff muscles when you started hula-hooping? I'm wondering if it might help tone my tum but am a little niggly that it might aggravate my fibro...

Kotinka - I find if I am organised and meal plan most meals then I'm more likely to keep to the diet plus I spend less! Carbs are so easy to reach for when a quick meal is wanted and the kids are pestering for food... this way I can try and keep on top of it!

Signing in. Sts this week. Hoping to shift a few more lbs this week. Today has been
B bacon and eggs
L ham mozzarella and tomato
S pork scratchings
D stir fried steak and veg. Will add butter to veg etc while cooking.
Lots of fizzy water and water.

Have found that a bit of coke zero keeps sneaking in I know I know I find its mainly when I'm meeting up with friends for coffee etc when I just can't face another water. I begrudge paying a lot for bottled/sparkling water when a coke is just as much. Don't drink tea or coffee and I think therein lies the problem! Making a conscious effort this week to say no to coke!

Blackaffronted you had that before didn't you?

Zimbomum I find the diet coke habit very easy to slip back into, it really doesn't take much!

ZimboMum - just watch out - you have a lot of processed food in your menu: bacon, ham and pork scratchings. And that's on top of your Coke!

Has anybody got any advice on how to stay on track when having a weak moment? I know low carb is better for me but for various reasons I lose the plot occasionally and struggle to get back on track. Do any of you put inspirational notes to yourself on your kitchen cupboards or something?

I know just one piece of chocolate will lead to more and more so need to stop myself. When I start afresh I know that it's good for me and I feel better, but it's like I forget that after a couple of weeks or so it doesn't seem to matter as much.

I try not to have much junk in but sometimes dh will come home with chocs or crisps and I find it hard to resist!

BIWI · 24/06/2013 19:18

Ultimately, no-one else can make the choice but you. I can shout and wave my big stick at you as much as you like, but it's you whose putting the stuff in your mouth!

Ask your DH not to come home with stuff like that if you can't resist it.

Have something low carb that you really enjoy and use that as a treat to avoid bad treats choccy.

I had blackberries and cream this weekend, lower carb than strawberries and the cream satisfies sweet cravings.

Hi everyone.
Just checking in and logging my meals to keep on track. I am going to Bootcamp all this week. Had to rush out really early again this morning and couldn't face more than black coffee but was fine until lunch.
L omelette and sauteed mushrooms
D over-baked stuffed cabbage parcels (with shallot, mushrooms, chicken, celery and herbs)
Will weigh in tomorrow or Wednesday when I'm feeling brave enough, hoping that I can put STS instead of a gain from over-indulging at the weekend.
Have bought lots of veg at the supermarket to inspire me tomorrow.
Congratulations to all of you who've managed to lose this week. Lend me some of your resolve!

evening everyone and well done to all the losers!
and thanks BIWI for the new thread Flowers

well the celeriac tartiflette was...okaaaay!
i chopped it up a bit smaller and went half-and-half on the reblochon rind, it was really rich and creamy, but a little unusual-tasting, think i will stick to roast celeriac in future. i did have to laugh, though, thinking i should post a version of my dinners to correspond with Crabby's beautiful blog - the kitchen was like a bomb-site by the time i'd finished!

weighing in tomorrow as forgot this morning - hope everyone doing alright

well the thought of the big stitch twitching has helped when it came to tea. Was seriously considering say meh cba BUT I didn't. I actually cooked a proper high fat meal Shock As I used mfp to track my energy expenditure to try to sort the pacing thing out, today i put the food thing in too. there is something satisfying seeing the little fat eaten number sitting in a nice red colour ;)

Tea was:
Leeks and mushrooms fried in a lot of butter and a dash of oil to stop burning, seasoned with salt, pepper and basil. Stirred in some philadephia full fat. This was then dumped on cauliflower and a little bit of cheese grated on the top.

Daisy I like the sound of mini crust less quiches. What recipe did you follow and did you grease them or use cupcake cases?

Choccywoccydiddlyboo · 24/06/2013 20:03

I usually have blueberries with Greek yoghurt as a treat. Also have bought a tub of bacon and egg sandwich filling that I can dip into quickly.

I hope dh will join me in lc soon and stop buying chocolate. I need to have a big sort out tomorrow and get rid of all the crap in the house.

daisy I do have a bruise on top of my hip, legs were a little stiff but have a bit more flexibility, but never really had stiff muscles after, maybe check with your doc before hand.

Oh FFS, I have put on 4lb. That'll learn me.
I'll weigh myself again in the morning and put down whatever it says on the spreadsheet, hopefully a bit less than today.
I have been drinking like a fish and I've just done a pretty intense workout so hopefully that has got rid of some of the glycogen and water weight post-carbicide.
Need to eat dinner now - bleh.

BIWI · 24/06/2013 21:25

You haven't just weighed yourself now, have you, bullet? No point - you are just weighing everything you've eaten and drunk today!

Wait until the morning.

I was up a couple of pounds this morning - a bit frustrating. Though possibly self inflicted - well, semi, a friend cooked for me yesterday and I'm not 100% sure if it was all as low carb as it would have been if I'd cooked it and I had a vodka and diet coke. Hopefully just glycogen and hopefully it will shift soon :(

Getting further away from my goal was not my plan!!

Still, a friend said to me today - You are the incredible shrinking woman Grin I'll take that :) She said she can see the difference in me, everytime she sees me & that I must be shrinking out of my clothes at an annoying rate. I was GrinGrinGrin - especially considering no-one else has said A Thing except for one person who said 'So how is it going - have you lost any weight doing this' and she is lovely so definitely wouldn't have been being nasty or anything.

I just survived the school end of term barbecue. I had a burger (no bun), sausage (no bun) and some rocket. So the sausage and burger maybe more carby than preferable but I didn't do too badly.

B: Greek yoghurt and fried mushrooms (not at the same time though, that would be weird)
L: salad with feta and black olives
S: two sausages (leftover from the kids' lunch yesterday)
D: burger, sausage, rocket

So a bit heavy on the processed food but otherwise okay. I'm off to drink a lot of water now. Tbh I'm getting a bit bored of water all the time. I might get one of those Innocent smoothies and split it over two days.

bullet - as BIWI just said, you haven't just weighed yourself have you??

How do you make your bulletproof coffee? I have the link, but that seems like an enormous faff and I'm sure all the posters saying they have had BPC aren't doing all that!! Are they???

Wise words biwi - I didn't think of that!
I am going expecting a little gain at least. But it might not be 4lb. I can only weigh at the gym (not allowed scales - previous ishoos! Blush)so I have always eaten breakfast when I weigh in, but I try not to drink any water until after I weigh in. Then I guzzle about a litre in one go Grin

Yes I did weigh in about an hour ago!
Chipping I make a pot of coffee (stove top moka pot) with good ground coffee, pour ton into a large jug, add a large tbsp of coconut oil and about double the amount of unsalted butter and blitz with the stick blender. Its lush!
