Week 4 - Pre-Christmas '24 Low Carb Bootcamp: almost halfway through!

Morning all.

Here's the spreadsheet

Some really good looking losses so far, which is brilliant. It also looks like the 'curse of week 3' hasn't affected everybody, which is very pleasing. Let's hope the same is true of week 4!

I'm going to try a veggie recipe this evening, which was one featured in the Guardian's Feast food magazine a couple of weeks ago, for a paneer curry. It does use cashews in it - and they are very carby, but as there's only 25g in a meal to serve 4 people I think that's OK. I love paneer, but have only really ever had it in a spinach dish, so I'm looking forward to it. (There's also a teaspoon of sugar, but I'll see what it tastes like without it before I decide if it's really necessary!)

What's everyone else cooking this week? Anything new/different?

I’m fine with the drinking water but I have gone right off tea and coffee for some reason .

RockyRogue1001 · 17/11/2024 14:35

Afternoon everyone.
My go-to drink in the cold is hot water. As in, not from the tap, but boiling (so, tea, minus the tea, milk and sugar 🤣)
I find it's "thicker" somehow than cold water, and fine to drink tepid or cold.
I've done ok with water intake this week.
My weigh day is today, and I'm thrilled because I lost 4lb.
But it's been quite odd.
I had a very strict week last week (wk3?) and lost 2 or 3lb.
Then had an amazing woosh. I was so, so chuffed. Lost 3lb somehow between Sunday and Monday. Never had that happen before
Had another strict week, but only lost 1 more lb
Don't get me wrong, I'm chuffed to bits with 4lb. It just seems to be losing in an odd and inconsistent way.
But lots of water, loads of exercise and strict bcing. Not feeling hungry for snacks, and kindof doing 16/8, which is working well for me.
So will KOKO and see how it goes.

Good luck to everyone for your weigh ins tomorrow

(TRIGGER WARNING - toast & alcohol)

Evening all. I must confess to a bit of a WOE fail this weekend... I attended a very big birthday celebration...
Had stuck to no carbs all day Saturday but then quite a few alcoholic drinks were consumed last night.

Danced for several hours which was great. But am thoroughly exhausted today so have to confess that I caved in and ate some toast with my eggs this morning.

Really hoping it doesn't throw me right off all my progress for weighing in tomorrow 🙈

BIWI · 17/11/2024 19:52

Fingers crossed that all that dancing used up all/any of the glucose in your blood stream!

🤞🤞🤞

Sounds almost identical to my Saturday night NoCarbsforme! I'd done well this week, three days solidly in the 123s so hoping if there's a blip it's temporary.

islandtiger · 17/11/2024 23:20

Wow, congratulations on KOKO. Great to hear these losses great and small. Like @RockyRogue1001 I've had some weird movement up and down on the scales this week so I'll be interested to see what they say in the morning. I've had loads of water today as I've had a nagging headache which I couldn't shift with paracetamol. Last night I made cocoa with cream as a treat but tipped far too much erithrytol into it which I am blaming for my headache. Or the full moon? 🌝 🤣. Stayed on course at lunch today with a lovely chicken and roast vegetable tray bake made by supportive friends with cheese afterwards. And a salad of lettuce, avocado and a small bit of leftover chicken with mayonnaise. Good luck tomorrow.
