don't have that 'sated' feeling
@fruitstick
One of the things that got me interested in low carb high fat way of eating was wearing a continuous blood sugar monitor, as part of the Zoe project food tests.
Main take away was how much my blood sugar goes up by when I eat any starchy carbs, whether sweet or savoury. And drops back down again as insulin is released to clear the auger out of the blood.
It makes sense to me that that sated feel you mention is linked to fast rise in blood sugar. The low carb alternative is that my blood sugar stayed pretty stable so while I don't get the sated feeling I also don't get the hangry got to eat NOW feeling
Stepping off the blood sugar rollercoaster has been really helpful for my well-being (and my weight).
Low carbing has significantly reduced my blood sugar levels from pre-diabetic to perfectly normal. Phew.
Having stable blood sugar (and drinking all.the.water) enables me to address the many, many reasons I used to eat for entirely non hunger related issues.
After years of falling off the waggon, Gillian Riley's approach to eating less worked for me, in conjunction with eating low carb.
