Morning all.

It's all gone a bit quiet - which I'm assuming is to do with it being holiday time, rather than everyone has disappeared?!

Here's the Spreadsheet, once again

I'm cooking my slow cooker challenge today, as I have my niece and her husband coming to stay for a couple of days. I'm serving it with celeriac dauphinois and griddled sweetheart cabbage.

Any other slow cooker recipes to share?

Come and tell me how your week is going - and that includes all of you lurking at the back Grin

@CleanQueen123 did you read my posts about weeks 3, 4 - and occasionally 5? Unfortunately lack of loss, and/or occasional gain, is very par for the course, so don't be downhearted.

If you're following the rules (you are, aren't you?! Wink) then it will happen for you. Just KOKO.

I'll KOKO. Definitely following the rules which is why it's frustrating. If I was cheating at least I'd know I only had myself to blame. Maybe next week will be a whoosh week.

Fingers crossed for you! Flowers

@CleanQueen123

Are you tracking your measurements & how your clothes fit as well as your weight?

It always puzzles me, but the different ways of measuring seem to be completely out of sync. It is for me, very reassuring to notice inches off my waist even when the scales have not moved.

I'm not but I do think you're on to something because I'm convinced I look slimmer and my clothes aren't as tight, but according to the scales I haven't lost anything.

comfortablyfrumpy · 31/08/2022 20:39

@BIWI sorry, I posed on wrong thread (story of my life!)... I'll copy /paste here...

STS this week but still feeling slimmer so not overly concerned. I know I'm due a loss, I've plateaued before...
I have now mastered low carb bread and absolutely loving it, it's lush! (I do restrict myself, don't worry!).
I know BMI isn't much of a guide, but I'm just on the cusp now of Normal. I suspect things will get slower now I've lost the initial "bulk" - but I'll keep going!

Oooh - and to add, I've put some "waaay too baggy now" clothes on ebay. That feels good!

I think that's fairly normal. Your clothes won't lie to you like the scales will 😄

On weeks where I've no scales loss to show, I try on previously tight clothing to see the difference.

Hi it’s so interesting to read these threads and hear of others struggles and successes. I’m trying (very trying) but finding it difficult to adjust mindset re fat intake. This despite avidly devouring information indicating effectiveness of low carb/high fat. I’m KOKO with my spare middle tyre as motivation. Not weighing currently as psychologically any gain will send me headfirst into the cake shop!

I have noticed slight loosening on my waistband.

what a ramble! Good luck to all for this week and I will post more rather than lurking! 😀

5thWisdom · 01/09/2022 08:12

Hi all,

I'm late joining the 6 week thread, apologies - busy BH. I've stagnated again at 122lbs, STS a week and a half after weighing last. It may be due to insufficient water intake, I'm not sure.

I'm not going back to carbs, and only would want to lose another 6lbs - weight on my wobbly hips and legs won't shift.

Well done on those that are losing. KOKO.

BIWI · 01/09/2022 08:14

@5thWisdom - you don't have very much to lose, so weight loss will be slower. Also bear in mind that this close to your target, calories do come into play, so you need to be mindful about your portion sizes as well as keeping an eye on the carbs.

And STS after only a week and half really isn't stagnating!

@sheepdreams There are two books that you might find helpful - one is by Gary Taubes, called The Diet Delusion , and the other by Nina Teicholz, called The Big Fat Surprise

They both go through the history of nutritional advice given by governments in the US and then here in the UK, and demonstrate how politics, money and media 'hype' led us into believing that fat was bad for us. In other words, how we came to believe that carbs are good/fat is bad has been influenced by so much more than actual science!

I’m still away, home at the weekend, so far the scales have stayed the same, but I’m in week 3 or 4 now, so 1. To be expected and 2. I have had the odd glass of Rose 🤭 However as others have said I definitely look and feel slimmer. As someone who has done boot camp a couple of times, I know that this works and you just have to KOKO. If in doubt just look at how well some people have done on the spreadsheet by just KOKO.
Have a good day

sheepdreams · 01/09/2022 10:51

Thank you BIWI will have a look.

ChimneyPot · 01/09/2022 12:36

I am also late reporting my weigh in. On Monday I had lost the 1.25lbs I had been up the week before and back to where I was 2 weeks ago. Not bad after a break in Bath with my girlfriends.
I avoided all the cocktails and afternoon tea type stuff the others had and stuck to wine, Prosecco and low carb alternatives. Definitely not enough fat or green veg though so have been really eating a lot of green veg this week.
Heading to a festival for the weekend. Yet another challenge.

ditavonteesed · 01/09/2022 15:58

Reporting a nsv, I bought a size 10 dress, alright it's from next and not particularly fitted, but still I'm taking the win. They only had it in a 10 and dd said I should try it.

FinallyHere · 01/09/2022 21:21

@ditavonteesed

Wow, size 10. gratters, great NSV.

BIWI · 02/09/2022 20:09

Where is everyone?! Don't tell me that you've all fallen off the wagon Hmm ...

OP posts:
comfortablyfrumpy · 02/09/2022 20:11

Still on the wagon, still here 😀

5thWisdom · 02/09/2022 20:46

Still here, firmly on the wagon!

Hope everyone else is ok.

FinallyHere · 02/09/2022 20:48

All here, all good

Just been for a walk and now consuming pate and celery and olives. Like a pro low carber.

prettybird · 02/09/2022 22:31

Had a semi-slip off the wagon (mostly to do with water but also a five course meal with wine that we had with friends last week Blush) but am working my way back Smile

Jollyholibobs · 03/09/2022 09:14

Still here. Doing well. Hoping to eat out tonight. Fairly confident I can navigate that.

CleanQueen123 · 03/09/2022 09:33

Still here too! Still on the wagon.

ChimneyPot · 03/09/2022 09:49

Still on the wagon here.
Festivaling for the weekend so have been investigating food and drink options in the arena.
Had lovely very boot camp compliant shawarma last night beef, lamb, lettuce and yoghurt. DH ate my pita for me.
The Prosecco was terrible stuff so will be sticking with vodka and soda or vodka and slimline elderflower tonic.
After many, many years of tents, glamping and campervans DH booked a hotel this year so should have decent breakfast options!

DearieMeWhatsUp · 03/09/2022 10:05

I'm still here too. Had a loonnnggg week with an unwell child, but stuck to the plan, and due to tiredness/clingy child ended up eating more keto and not much veg as just grabbed what I could. This week need to eat more veg and drink more water as that slipped.

Mediterranean pork, broccoli and cabbage on the menu for dinner, might have some eggs or chicken salad for lunch

PennyPinkPineapple · 03/09/2022 10:34

I'm still on the wagon, which is good considering what a shit week it's been. I weigh myself every morning and I've been stuck since Tuesday which is really disheartening because I'm being so good 😏

I want to make a nice soup today but not sure what...
