Week 5 - Leaving Lockdown Low Carb Bootcamp

BIWI · 09/05/2021 23:24

Welcome to Week 5!

Here's the spreadsheet

Hopefully we can now put the horrible weeks 3 & 4 behind us, and get on with the serious job of shedding the pounds of fat Smile

By now, hopefully, low carbing eating should feel like it's the 'new normal', and you should be getting used to it. However, there's also the opposite danger, that you're seeing carbs creeping back into your menus.

This is a good time to take stock. Have a think about the things you've been eating over the last week and ask yourself if they are really 'in the spirit' of Bootcamp. Are you really keeping your carbs low, and focused mainly on vegetables and salad? Are you really eating enough fat? And, perhaps most importantly, are you drinking all the water?

From now on, you should see the scales move again - albeit that the weekly loss should be in the range of 1-2lbs a week (possibly more if you have a lot to lose).

I really hope that you are finding that you're settling into this WOE, and that you're enjoying the food, not feeling deprived, and are seeing the scales/tape measure reflect your commitment.

At the end of this week we will be half way through Bootcamp!

I weighed this morning so am putting im my .6lb loss now. I'm happy with a loss and theanks BIWI for the reminders. I had bad days this week so feel I have had a lucky escape with a small loss!!
I have a total of 6lb loss over the 4 weeks and I can really feel that in my clothes. I hate when my clothes don't fit me. I am really motivated to keep going, and would be very happy with a lb a week loss, though I'm just going to focus on the food and the well being.

Best wishes all, and really, it's not too late to start again, or start a first time. The rules are really straightforward, to the point that this diet is easy in ways. (Not like Covid restrictions!! - 2/4/6 people. gardens (no) parks (yes). bubbles. I became so addled with it all I met almost nobody. BUT now I am in 'prepare for Summer' mode.
While there are things you cannot have (bread, pasta, potatoes) you can have coffee with cream (delicious!), chicken thighs with the skin on - really delicious food. I an NOT hungry. And you do FEEL well on it. Honestly.

Marking my place for tomorrow's weigh in. Not sure I'll still be under 11st but m hopeful it will still be a loss from last week Smile

ZiggZagg · 10/05/2021 00:48

Just placemarking Smile

Tomorrow will take all my willpower but I'm determined to get back into it!

I start my new job tomorrow also, which will provide a welcome distraction for me and hopefully a more settled routine.

I have my 2.2l water bottle in the freezer in preparation for all the water.

Greek yoghurt and boiled eggs for breakfast (at lunchtime)
Lamb kebab with FL salad with feta and olive oil dressing.

Week 5 thoughts to all Grin

Week 5! Best of luck today @ZiggZagg.

Moonswimmer · 10/05/2021 06:31

I can’t have broken the spreadsheet already...

For some reason the blue cells aren’t updating when I put my weight in for this week. But anyway, it’s a loss this week and I am really pleased. Three more weeks till the christening and am determined to be as close to overweight (as opposed to obese) as I can possibly get.

Moonswimmer · 10/05/2021 06:31

Hope today goes well @ZiggZagg! You’ll be great.

cheeseisthebest · 10/05/2021 06:43

Good luck for today ziggzagg!

5lb loss for me, 137lb. Will carry on! Smile

Moonswimmer · 10/05/2021 06:44

Well done @cheeseisthebest!!

cheeseisthebest · 10/05/2021 06:50

Thank you. I'm not really sure how, I gained bank holiday weekend when I way away, and was really determined when I got back. Also done some 16:8.

Jellycatspyjamas · 10/05/2021 06:53

2lb loss for me this week, a pound of which was last weeks gain, so 6lb off so far this boot camp.

Food today
L. Watercress soup, SLC bread
D. Chicken thighs roasted with all the veggies

Nateismine · 10/05/2021 07:06

2lbs off for me. Pleased with that! Starting to mindlessly nibble chocolate in the evenings so need to stop that. Also need to serve myself smaller portions as I'm getting full quickly and then am finishing off a full plate of food that I don't really need. Coffee with cream is also getting to be a bit of a daily habit.
I think I may try strict boot camp in the week and boot camp light at weekends- anybody had success with this?

Some amazing losses already this boot camp- well done everybody. Good luck for Week 5.

Nateismine · 10/05/2021 07:08

B- coffee with cream
L- leftovers- Tom Kerridge's lamb with curried cauliflower and flatbread- was amazing but very filling
D- scrambled egg and asparagus from the garden

Bestbees · 10/05/2021 07:26

Good luck today @ZiggZagg!

Well done to those with losses this week. I weigh in on Friday officially, ut stayed the same over the weekend which I am please about. I am going for a nice focused week, no snacking hopefully! I would like to start to see a cementing of this slightly lower weigh if that makes sense.
Plan
L green soup, two boiled eggs
D aubergine, mushroom, peanut and coconut curry with cabbage.
MIM: run.
Water!

ZiggZagg · 10/05/2021 07:36

Thank you everyone!!

Unfortunately have started the week off with a 6lb gain! BUT!!! I am going to give myself some slack due to what's been happening in my life and I will not let this be an ongoing thing, start of a new chapter, one where I love my job and am very svelte and slinky!!

Have a good day campers Grin

Rshard · 10/05/2021 07:37

Good luck today ziggzagg!

Not weighed in yet as was up and out early for dd’s swimming but well done to those who have lost.

Cabin fever is setting in a bit after 14 months of working at home, so committing to getting out of the house every lunch time this week.

FinallyHere · 10/05/2021 07:49

@Rshard I'm with you on the committing to getting out of the house every lunch time this week.

I've put slots in my diary morning and evening when I used to drive into work. Shall see how I use them this week. I am feeling much higher energy, looking about for things to do rather than being content to slump in front of a screen.

Hughbert · 10/05/2021 07:51

It's been a difficult few weeks Ziggzagg so 🤞 today goes well and the 6lbs vanishes quickly.
Had a lovely weekend nowlook thank you :)
Another lb on. I'm now at my highest weight ever, which is really bloody depressing. As per my last post, I'm going to cut out dairy this week and try to eat 3 meals a day and see if that makes a difference. Hope everyone else has better results!

BestIsWest · 10/05/2021 07:51

No weighing for me but just checking in and well done to everyone.

Ifeelmuchlessfat · 10/05/2021 07:58

@ZiggZagg yes but you knew it was coming and have drawn a line.
If you’re anything like me, in the past a gain would have been the start of a slippery slope, but now you have the tools, and the support, to deal with it and move on.
Have a good day.

BIWI · 10/05/2021 08:14

Good luck with the new job @ZiggZagg Flowers

Great to have a new thread. One pound lost. I found the last thread very triggering . I like the bathroom, eyebrows , running, chitchat etc... the eating plans and hints are why I check-in. But the personal crisis , nope.

BIWI · 10/05/2021 08:19

Sorry if you were triggered, @Figrus2 - what was the problem/what triggered you?

@ZiggZagg Hope all goes well for your first day today

MrsBertBibby · 10/05/2021 08:43

Morning all, half a pound this week, but it has bobbled up a pound over the weekend so not despondent. My week 4 this week so just hoping to kobo.

Insanely busy at work, a key team member is out with health stuff and my admin/finance/keeping management at bay person has very sick family back home so expecting a shit load of stuff landing on me. Urgh.

Figrus2 · 10/05/2021 08:43

Thanks biwi. I don't want to say what triggered me for the sake of the poster who posted it. Its over now. I'm just putting it out there in case you ever wonder why some people stop engaging on the threads but still add to the spreadsheet. I can't be the only one. Loving this WOE , thanks for all the advice.
