@BustleInYourHedgerow if that the fathead pizza I enjoyed it but it's down to the toppings I think. The base is quite dense

BIWI · 05/03/2021 15:24

@venusandmars

Of course dh had dessert, not the dry sandy stuff Blush
Presumably not many carbs in sand though?

@BustleInYourHedgerow

I wish I enjoyed running though. This will be my third go at doing the C25K. I've completed it each time - the first time I used it to train for a charity run, so I was a bit more motivated to keep going once I'd completed it.

I just don't get the 'runners' high' that people talk about. I like being outside when it's not too cold/wet/snowy/hot but that's about it. But until I can get back to the gym, this will have to do!

plumstone · 05/03/2021 15:54

i would love to try the C25K tried it a couple of years ago and ended up with terrible shin splints. However I have rearranged my spar room, and now have some space to attempt yoga or pilates still deciding!!

This week has been mental work wise - However food has been ok.
today:

B/L - mackerel pate homemade with spinach lots of olive oil cucumber and celery
D - roasted salmon and mashed celeriac - possibly roasted - not sure yet
W - have done three liters so far only one to do.

Weekend will involve lots of avocado as the ones that arrived from Asda this morning seem to be perfect and I don't want to waste them!

KOKO and water water water

Oneborneverydecade · 05/03/2021 16:05

Is anyone else apprehensive about seeing people at school on Monday? My weight loss started last summer but once it became noticeable I was wrapped up in a big coat. Part of my apprehension is that no one will say anything! Conceited much. I also don't want to deal with lchf and if naysayers.

My parents have been v supportive, until recently when I've mentioned fasting. The other day my mum said I need a plate of sausage, mash and beans. As far as she's concerned I gained weight by eating too many cakes so if I can avoid them I'll keep it off. She has weight to lose but won't countenance lc

BIWI · 05/03/2021 16:31

Just don't tell them what you've done, if they do notice and ask. Just say something vague like 'yes, I've worked really hard to lose the weight, by cutting down portions (i.e. through fasting) and cutting out sweet treats (i.e. carbs). Thanks for noticing!' No need for anything more specific.

BIWI · 05/03/2021 16:32

Hmm. Formatting clearly doesn't work when it's in brackets. Those are the words that you're not meant to say!

Happy Friday campers. I've had a small NSV today as I'm recruiting at work so put on a smart work shirt for the first time since I last did recruitment (December). It was slightly tight and uncomfortable then, fits perfectly across the chest now. Unfortunately my arms are still too long for it but I don't think bootcamp can. Help me address that Confused

Hoping for a whoosh over the weekend as the scales haven't moved for me so far this week. I'm choosing to blame my hormones...

venusandmars · 05/03/2021 17:17

@Oneborneverydecade I never know what is worse - people not noticing or people noticing too much. I went to a barbecue where the host squealed as I arrived "OMG Darling, you've lost loads of weight. You must have been starving yourself!“ I felt like I must have previously been a fat pig Sad

Ignore other people, just feel good in your own skin.

LittleMy77 · 05/03/2021 17:24

Lost 1lb this week but suspect it’ll go straight back on with TOTM, plus I’ve got excruciating neuralgia in my face today which has really impacted what I’ve felt like, and what I’ve felt like eating

NSV is previously too tight summer dresses actually fit comfortably (still a bit to go) and my bras are noticeably now too big.

Dailyhandtowelwash · 05/03/2021 17:51

@StuntNun unhelpful answer is that our local butcher sells them at Christmas and they’ve been in the freezer since.

Pleaseandthankyou · 05/03/2021 18:14

@BustleInYourHedgerow I have just accepted that when you get to a certain age too much weight loss can be very ageing. I am happy to be a 12. I am much heavier than when I was younger but so what. If I can get to 25bmi that will be brilliant. In other news, my hot cross buns have arrived. I have eaten one, put two packs in the freezer and I am going to order more. They’re fantastic.

StuntNun · 05/03/2021 18:15

Bustle secondary school children (age 11 up) are getting tested on their return to school. I think it's optional for younger children whose parents can request a home test kit. They're all lateral flow tests rather than the more accurate PCR tests. On your pizza question I think Fathead Pizza is the best and most low carb recipe sites have the recipe.

Oneborn I've been in braces (Invisalign) since September so I'm expecting some surprise once we don't have to wear masks on the school run any more. I wonder whether straight teeth are more obvious than weight loss?

ditavonteesed · 05/03/2021 18:21

I tried couch to 5k 3 times int he last month, first time I felt really ill afterwards, second time I did 2 runs and then felt ill and last time my knees hurt so much it kept me up all night so I think I will have to give in on the running. Well done @BIWI I also wish I could love running.
I hate when people notice my weight loss, makes me feel early self conscious but then I get grumpy when they don't (mum).

I have been having a few issues at work where people don't think it's a healthy think to do. I need to do more reading so I have arguments, I would just not discuss it but everyone always talks about what they are eating.

ditavonteesed · 05/03/2021 18:23

Also what are these bread and hot cross buns people are talking about, i found the website, are they really as good as they sound. Do you have to keep them in the freezer. I could really fancy a bacon butty at some point,

Dailyhandtowelwash · 05/03/2021 18:46

I've only got the sliced bread but it does work pretty well and tastes like normal bread to me. I have only had it toasted though.

@BustleInYourHedgerow we have had a few meatzzas (Nigella recipe, think it's also on the recipe thread) which are much nicer than I thought they might be. The base is made of seasoned mince with whatever toppings you like on it. I can't guarantee it would work with pineapple or tuna etc though!

prettybird · 05/03/2021 18:52

Today's earrings - simple wee earrings that I bought to go with the antique African necklace that my aunt bought me for my 21st.

I had to change to pearl studs yesterday as I lost one of my earrings while we were out on our daily walk. Found it again today in the park (we do the same walk most days) - but unfortunately they are currently resurfacing the paths in the park and it must have been driven over by one of the mini diggers/machinery Sad

StuntNun Invisalign 10 years ago was the one thing that got me to break my constant snacking habit! Just too much faff to take them out and go through cleaning braces and teeth each time. I still have to wear my final retainer at night three nights a week or they start trying to go back, but they've stayed straight, and it was so worth it for me.

I spent two hours this morning helping a friend with a drain jetting machine unblock our septic tank outflow pipe. I'm finding that I'm really feeling the cold a lot more now I'm 20lbs lighter, particularly my feet for some reason, though my hands are absolutely fine so I'm not sure if it's circulation-related or not. I was very pleased to come in for a shower and some hot buttery mashed sprouts with salami for lunch. Supper's going to be a massive cheese and vegetable omelette.

I'm not joining in with a physical challenge, because my horses are currently in fields where I don't have a hosepipe, so I'm carrying about 140 litres of water a day to keep their water tubs filled up and that's quite enough exercise for my muscles for this month!

BustleInYourHedgerow · 05/03/2021 19:18

Thanks oneborn and stunt nun... I made the fathead one and it was nice. I mean it wasn't as nice as pizza but it was good. I was hungry and ate it all quickly bar one slice and now I'm a little too full... oh well.

@BIWI well done for doing it even more so of you don't enjoy. I definitely get a high which is the only thing that spurs me on. I hate the gym.

@plumstone I think pirates is quite hard to get the hang of unless you attend a class. So I'd recommend yoga. I used to attend a physio led pirates class before the motherfucking pandemic and really enjoyed it but I do feel guidance is needed to get used to the basics.

@littlemy77 that sounds tough. Hope you're feeling better soon!

@pleaseandthankyou once you are comfortable in your own skin thats all that matters! I've accepted that being a size 8 was reserved for my early 20s , but I'd be very happy to be a 10 again. (I'm very short)

@ditavonteesed that could be down to your footwear. Do get your gait analysed if you can if you are thinking about c25k again.

@dailyhandtowelwash I have done meattza before and have forgotten about it! The family enjoyed it too, so will put it on the list for again. Thank for the reminder.

L: celeriac and leek soup, 1 broghie with chicken, salad and mayo
D: most of a fathead pizza with nduja and mozzarella on top. Cucumber and rocket salad with dressing.

I'm going to have 2 glasses of wine tonight I haven't had a drink in 2 weeks.

BustleInYourHedgerow · 05/03/2021 19:18

Pirates class. Ooh arrgh.

cheeseisthebest · 05/03/2021 19:20

I had braces and jaw surgery three years ago. My teeth are so lovely and straight. No regrets other than my nose now looks bigger!
Oh I love running, so much, but had it stop due to terrible shin splints.
I'm already planning my school run outing for Monday morning. Blush

ListenLinda · 05/03/2021 19:27

Half a day at work today so managed to get loads of jobs done in the house, food has been good. No breakfast. Bacon eggs and sprouts for lunch, tuna & egg salad for tea.

Don’t think i’m going to close all three rings today as my watch had to charge so i wont close the stand ring. I’ve closed my exercise ring so classing that as a win 😁

Found a top I had forgotten about while splitting my DH wardrobes, going to try it on after period has finished, as I remember it being too tight last time. Be interesting to see if it fits better!

NoraEphronsNeck · 05/03/2021 19:44

@Ninkanink

I have that on the front of the notebook by my side! 😊

Last time they threatened me with a ban (two strikes, iirc) I left of my own accord, for about six months. I get that they’re between a rock and a hard place but at the moment people are taking the absolute piss and I’m not going to sit and take it like a handmaiden.

Thanks for fighting the good fight on everyone's behalf Wink
ZiggZagg · 05/03/2021 19:51

Evening campers, -nink- you're braver than I am posting on FWR!!

Been a bit of a shit day food wise, I have an ear infection and only went the drs today Sad turns out I've perforated something in my ear which has led to the infection, I was so swollen inside she couldn't see so spray and oral antibiotics and go back in a week!

Draw a line under it tomorrow, this week has been a total write off but 3 weeks left to make a massive dent in my goal Smile

Doilooklikeatourist · 05/03/2021 20:01

🐎 @VeryLittleOwl , I think looking after horses is physical challenge enough !
@prettybird, I’ve been inspired to have a look through my jewellery box and get out of my earring rut , I’ve 3 pairs of studs I wear in rotation , and a lot that hardly get worn . I think I’ll sort through them tomorrow
@BIWI @ditavonteesed and anyone else whose doing C25K
I still don’t like running , managed 3 K this morning and one day soon we’ll go running outside , no one will believe it’s me ...
@BustleInYourHedgerow I’ll join in your pirates class 🏴‍☠️ Especially if there’s rum 🍹 involved 😀
Today’s meals
Brunch Ham and cheese omlette
D homemade creamy tikka paste chicken curry with cauliflower and spinach
2 glasses Chardonnay
Lots of water 💧
Finding it difficult to eat enough veg at the moment , need to look at that going forward
