Week 3 - Jan '21 Low Carb Bootcamp - time for Light?

BIWI · 31/01/2021 11:40

Well thanks to all the chat, I've had to start this week's thread earlier than usual Grin

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to declare all

You now have a choice: you can move on to Bootcamp Light, which means you can re-introduce nuts and seeds, some fruit and alcohol - all in moderation.

However, also bear in mind that weeks 3 & 4 are notorious for little or not weight loss and this is nothing to do with moving on to Bootcamp Light. It's just something that seems to happen.

So it's up to you. You can stay on Bootcamp if you wish, or move on to Bootcamp Light, or a hybrid - so you do Bootcamp during the week but relax into Bootcamp Light at the weekend.

Whatever you decide - good luck! Here's to a good week ahead.

Good morning all. I think I've acquired everyone's appetite as I've had a horrible weekend. Also my period is due so I'm going to skip weighing this week and do it next Monday when I've had a chance to put things right.
Everyone's recipes look amazing - I'm going to stick to strict bootcamp this week and then I look forward to experimenting more next week with the almonds. Good to know that xylitol can be used for baking and the carbs don't count.
@BrassicaBabe, didn't get a chance to say on the other thread, but I am so happy for you. Must feel amazing to get medication that helps x
Good luck to everyone weighing today.

ZiggZagg · 01/02/2021 08:35

Bloody 1lb on Sad

I don't know what's going on, I am in week 4 of LC and STS the same last week! Think I'll continue with bootcamp and see if it has any impact!

Cactusowl · 01/02/2021 08:38

2,4lbs off, heading downwards which is great. Appetite has gone down too thankfully!

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 01/02/2021 08:39

Morning morning.

Sorry to those of you feeling downhearted. Thanks

I lost 2lb, so half a stone so far. Pleased with that.

I'm a pound below my lowest pre-Christmas weight now, so this is where the real loss starts (fingers crossed).

Plan for today:

B: yog W cream
L: not sure yet - prob leftovers from yesterday with salad
D: salmon something.

Teensy bit vague.

CowGurl · 01/02/2021 08:43

Morning!

'BrassicaBabe' - That is fabulous news! So happy for you.

Loving all the recipes. Going to have to try those egg bites.

Whoever posted the Thai Larb recipe a couple? of weeks ago - thank you! We had it last night and it was delicious, hit the spot beautifully! Had it with shed loads of asian slaw.

1.3lb down for me this week. Happy with that as it was wk 3 for me.

ZiggZagg · 01/02/2021 08:43

Although, I must say I am 10lb down from 31.12 so not too bad really! Just have to KOKO! Have a great week everyone!

Ninkanink · 01/02/2021 08:44

You do tend to STS in weeks 3 & 4. KOKO and the whoosh will come!

For newbies: It’s really, really important to bear in mind that fluctuations are perfectly normal and should be expected! I know it’s hard but focus on the downward trend, not the temporary blips. This is a long term way of life, and in the grand scheme of things that lb or 2 will not matter! - it’ll come off again!

Flowers to everyone today! KOKO!

prettybird · 01/02/2021 08:49

ZiggZagg - remember that we're told that Weeks 3 and 4 are notorious for STS and even putting weight on Shock

You need to keep the faith, KOKO and drink the water Grin

LittleMy77 · 01/02/2021 08:58

1lb up here; I know why tho, it was because it was my birthday and we had cake and a thoroughly nice day (for once) and DS was in such a good mood with the party games etc

Still 6lb down overall so quite pleased, back to it as of yesterday

Ninkanink · 01/02/2021 09:09

@athelstane please, please, pretty please would you be able to add my weights to the spreadsheet for me? I just cannot make it work (ancient iPad) and I really feel like I’m missing out on the full bc experience! 😉

Thank you!💐

I did my first weigh-in last Monday at 160.4 My weight today is 156.7. This is my first week on strict bc as I wasn’t quite in the right headspace in wk 1, so I’m very happy with that loss.

Congrats to everyone on making it through one more week of bootcamp! Great food, great health benefits and great company!👍👍

NotwatchingSpooks · 01/02/2021 09:13

Morning
2lbs off today, which is a stone off since the start of last bootcamp (September) and takes me to 9 stone 13lbs (I’m 5 foot 2) which gives me a BMI of 25.5, so my next goal is 9 stone 10lbs which will give me a BMI of 25. I started on 1st jan, but had not lost for a couple of weeks before this, but if you KOKO it does come off.

Today
B Greek yogurt with teaspoon double cream & a coffee
L homemade leek and ham soup
D roast chicken and flgv

Water.......

MrsMcBoatface · 01/02/2021 09:17

I'm pleased with 1lb down. I know my weight loss will be slow (thyroid!) so I'm going to commit to sticking to bootcamp light and see where it takes me. Greek yogurt and blueberries for breakfast.. what luxury!

Margaritawithlime · 01/02/2021 09:18

Buggering bugger. Zero off for me. Which is bloody annoying as Friday was 2.5lbs less than this. Whatever I accidentally ate or consumed on Friday is stubbornly sticking around. Koko I have faith...

ChristMyArse · 01/02/2021 09:21

I have also stayed the same as last week.. I was hoping the time between Friday (end of my week 4) and today would have shown some loss.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 01/02/2021 09:33

all done, @Ninkanink!

THIS is the week I'm going to pull away from 10stone properly, having been bobbing more or less up or down around there for a while now. Last week's given me a bit of a start, so if I can just hold on to that and maybe another lb this week...

WellityWellityWellity · 01/02/2021 09:40

Morning all!

This is day 1 for me, so obviously no change to weight.

Started the day with much water and a Brew with a little cream and a smidgen of whole milk. Need to find breakfast but am just settling dd into her home school.

Well done with all the weight losses and stayed the sames, even the small gains are probably fine in the scheme of things. I'm sure it's a plateau type thing. I'm a lifelong fucking dieter, as my weight has always been an issue, so am familiar with the plateau!

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 01/02/2021 09:46

Welcome @WellityWellityWellity ! (Don't think I've said hello yet Smile).

Do you all just put today's weight into the spreadsheet?

I weigh every day, & the lowest weight of the week is the one I use. Makes me happier.

Razzlefrazzle · 01/02/2021 09:53

Morning all and well done on all the great losses. Another 2lbs for me but I am so much less bloated I feel like its more than that. Will try on my too tight jeans later to see how that goes. I think I'm having too much Greek yogurt with cream, it's just too nice!

WellityWellityWellity · 01/02/2021 09:54

Hi @MilesJuppIsMyBitch Smile! Love the username! Is there a story there? I really hope you are friends with him IRL!

I have found some spinach which I'm having with fried eggs and a bit of Parma ham. Will try to go easy on the processed meat though. It is a bit of a weakness of mine!

I'm boot camping as just started and thinking of joining the pp who said they were doing dry February. Will see how the two weeks go.

Primitivo · 01/02/2021 09:56

Morning all, STS here, but week 3, so to be expected, trying to be grown up about this now. I've followed most principles for foods I've eaten, but need to tighten up when I'm eating them. Too much foraging, not enough planning for proper meals. I'm going to make a concerted effort to eat properly at meal times and not in between. So, today might be...
B: 2 x cups of tea
L: courgetti w bolognese + lotsa Parmesan
D: chicken soup + yog

pelosi · 01/02/2021 10:02

Hi all, just weighed myself, minimal loss this week (0.4 pounds). Not sure why, as I have been very good. The only thing I can think of is that I had my period. Could that have any bearing on it?

Dailyhandtowelwash · 01/02/2021 10:05

KOKO everyone. It's so hard. Miraculously after a week of nothing, my scales have dropped today so there's an actual loss, but it's only a pound less than my lightest weight last week. A bit daunted by how hard this week has been with notorious weeks ahead of me. If I finish the first month essentially where I was for most of last year eating more or less what I want then it will be a real kicker for the morale. My cycle going haywire helps nothing!

Bestbees · 01/02/2021 10:06

Well done to everyone who has lost.

Thanks for the comments about why I haven't. I am drinking so. Much. Water. So def not that. Will try and skip breakfast sometimes, but despite being a fairly experienced faster I am finding it hard on this woe. I have finished eating in the evening by 6 so I guess get arou 13hrs of fasting each day. Will just koko. Will stand strong on no snacking. I think I have added more fat to my meals to avoid snacks so worried that has been counter intuitive. Let's hope this is a week for a whoosh for me. @Ninkanink yes I want to lose about 6/8lb from where I am today so maybe that's why!

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 01/02/2021 10:07

@WellityWellityWellity no, sadly, I don't know him Grin I fancied a name-change, & this popped into my head & made me laugh.

Dull but true.

Lyrata · 01/02/2021 10:08

Already shared my loss yesterday - 1lb and 1/4 down. I’m so close to my goal. Half of me wants to get to 9 stone as quickly as possible so I can move to the next ‘phase’ but the other half is just feeling very relaxed about it now and happy to let the loss come as it pleases. I’m trying to listen to the second half. I feel so body confident and happy. The next 6lbs are just icing on the cake (or cauliflower on the cauliflower as the case may be).

My goal for this week is not to snack. I’ve added breakfast back in to try and help with that.

Breakfast: creamy coffee and FF Greek yogurt plus a bit of cheese I made
Lunch: bit of leftover salmon from yesterday plus chicken and coconut curry soup
Dinner: chicken thigh with roasted courgette, aubergine, tomato and onion
