Pre-Christmas Low Carb Bootcamp - week 9/the last fortnight

Evening/morning all!

A very late/early start for me (it's become a weekly 'thing' playing Trivial Pursuit with DH and DS1, which goes on, and on, and on ...)

So as I'm only just going to bed, wanted to start the thread now, so it's ready for all you eager beavers to declare your losses. From what I've read so far, there are some really good results, which is fantastic.

here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to declare all.

We have two weeks to go before we get to the end of this Bootcamp, which will take us right into Christmas week. I know that already people have been sharing their strategies for dealing with Christmas, and I encourage you all to have a really hard think about this. It's so easy to let everything go 'because it's Christmas' - but I'd really counsel you to seriously consider what your plan is going to be. I doubt that anyone is going to stick to low carb throughout the festive period, and that's not a problem - but please think about when/how you're going to go 'off piste'.

There will be another Bootcamp starting in January (probably mid month), but just think what a shame it would be, to be starting that Bootcamp having regained a lot of the weight that you've worked so hard to lose in this Bootcamp!

@Iamnotacerealkiller I’ve really got into Les Mills on demand over lockdown - it’s a huge variety of workouts that you get in the gym; step, combat, body pump, spin etc for something like £12/ 3 months. You can do short workouts or longer ones, and there are 4/6/8 week programmes to follow if you want to. Just another idea for you. There is lots of free stuff on YouTube but paying even a small amount makes me feel like I should do it.

I’m just running and I hope it’s enough. I really enjoy running now - I just switch off and I get a real high - whereas other routines I dread. I wish I could find a more strength focussed routine that made me feel as good as running.

I am a Sunday weigher so I just hopped on the scales. I didn’t weigh last week because I drank rather a lot of wine so this weight is for two weeks loss - and it’s just under 3lbs which I’m really happy with. I was 9 stone 13 and 3/4 and now I’m 9 stone 11 which I’m really happy with. Comfortably in the 9 stone bracket.

Does anyone else find that using stone and pounds (if you do) gives you a weird attitude to weight? I think because instinctively one measures out of 10 (e.g. 8/10 is high, 5/10 is half) I feel really grumpy up until X stone 7 because it feels like I am still ‘high’ in the weight bracket. At 9 stone 8 I will still feel like I am at the upper end of 9 stone and then suddenly at 9 stone 7, I’ll realise I’m actually half way and get super motivated. Maybe I am mad and alone in this.

Anyway I have hopes of seeing 9 stone 9 before Christmas.

X stone 10 and over and I'm holding my breath when I get on the scales because I feel 'dangerously' close to X+1. X stone 9 to X stone 5 I'm neutral about and X stone 4 and under I'm getting excited because I'm close to X-1 stone.

Congrats on the 3lbs, by the way :)

Morning all
I had an unplanned night out on Friday evening in a friends garden, it was my first night out since September and with fire pit, nibbles and flowing Prosecco, both fabulous and totally off plan. I have not drunk all of bootcamp, so the first glass went straight to my head and consequently I did veer off plan.
Anyway I am rather proud to say that I was straight back on it yesterday and am crossing my fingers that I won’t have done too much damage.

Today
B Greek yogurt
L homemade soup
D roast chicken an Flgv

Water and herbal teas, I’ve discovered Teapigs Gingerbread tea, it’s fab, but a limited edition.

Hi everyone,

Congratulations to all the losers. I've been experimenting with maintenance this past week and will next week as that's the bit I struggle with the most and I'm keen to do it with the support of this thread :) lI've put on 1.5lbs this week but I think it's water weight and ok as long as it doesn't go above this. I'd love to hear stories of what's "normal" for anyone on maintenance if people are happy to share

Oh dear. Just back from a 9 day business trip in Dubai. Stayed in a fabulous hotel (owned by the chap I was working for) and was taken out for lovely lunches and dinners every day. I tried my best (apart from the hummus) but the sheer volume of food was my downfall. Oh, and the espresso martinis and kir royales.... I was mostly good but completely fell off the wagon on the plane home and munched my way through a full Christmas dinner (surprisingly good) and a mountain of pastries with cappuccinos in the bar. Also a tub of ice cream which was minging (gingerbread flavour, tasted like a Yankee candle) yet I still ate it 🤷‍♀️ I feel like a balloon and the scales will punish me in the morning. Ive a nasty feeling I may be heavier than I was at the start of this BC 😞

Awesome weight loss nails 👏

NotwatchingSpooks · 13/12/2020 20:31

Welcome back sheepysheep tomorrow is another day, we still have another week of bootcamp to make a difference

Oneborneverydecade · 13/12/2020 21:19

Fingers crossed for you in the morning @NotwatchingSpooks

I'm surprised looking back at my optimism mid week. I think I was forgetting that my DH and I were away at the weekend (I stuck to plan but definitely ate more than I have been trying to), I'm out tomorrow (brie followed by turkey dinner) and then an on plan birthday meal Tuesday with lc cheesecake. I'm predicting a gain unfortunately
