Evening campers!

Setting this up now, as I had a bad night last night so I'm sloping off to bed early

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Amazing dinner - pork belly, salad and Uber-bootcamp coleslaw

BIWI · 05/06/2020 18:33

@ExShield

How high exactly?! Inevitably calories do come into play, but if you're following Bootcamp rules, being sensible about how much you're eating, then it shouldn't be an issue.

Lebanese take away here tonight. I'm having chicken wings, grilled halloumi and aubergine with peppers, tomato and chickpeas. I'll try and pass on the chickpeas though!

Yum BIWI ! Great to catch up on thread after a loooong day at work. Knackered now.
Early night for me and a read of my book.
Hope everyone has a good evening.

Just made this which was flippin gorgeous and cured my curry needs: chicken fried in coconut oil with a tikka paste on, kale and cabbage tossed in the remaining juices, then i got the total yogurt i saw recommended here and mixed in chopped cucumber, salt and lime and topped with some coriander. Wish I'd doubled up!

It's cold here too. We've got the fire on!

Good day so far:

Lunch: chicken mayo with a big salad. Olive oil and feta

Snack: coffee with cream, Greek yoghurt and some salami

Dinner: salt and chilli pork belly with stir fried cabbage.

2.5l of water/herbal tea so far and should manage another litre before bed.

Would love a gin but I'm abstaining in the hope of a loss instead!

I’ve never made a bisque.

Not have I, but I do remember being in high school years ago and my group of friends taking the piss out of our Russian friend, then 17, who had us over for a dinner party and served lobster bisque.

Who does that, they asked? The answer turns out to be a Harvard law graduate now earning gazillions, in a happy marriage, with amazing sons, and still enjoying great food. That’s who. Grin

ShagMeRiggins · 05/06/2020 19:26

I'll try and pass on the chickpeas though!

Emphasis mine.

BIWI, don’t make me go all Yoda on your ass. Hmm

BIWI · 05/06/2020 19:30

Hmm. It was difficult because instead of being 'aubergine with chickpeas' it was 'shit tonne of chickpeas with 2 slices of aubergine buried underneath' Angry

I swerved most of them.

Thankfully the chicken wings and halloumi were sufficiently filling!

Some delicious Friday night dinners going on! My hm burrito bowl was delicious; cauliflower rice, spicy chicken and the juices, green beans and shallots slowly cooked in oil and chilli flakes. With cheese, hm guacamole hm salsa and sour cream. To busy stuffing my face to remember to take a pic

ShagMeRiggins · 05/06/2020 19:44

Oh god—himself indoors has just returned with Son 2 from Aldi. He claimed it was going to be a “small shop.”

I doubt it. Hmm

ShagMeRiggins · 05/06/2020 19:47

Somewhat redeemed by first presenting me with these. I believe it’s by way of gaining my forgiveness as Son2 has just whispered “it was our most expensive Aldi shop ever.”

I’ll be zen about this. At least it wasn’t me who had to do the shop, so yay.

BIWI · 05/06/2020 19:52

Presented you with what?!

OP posts:
Ifeelfat · 05/06/2020 19:56

ShagmeRiggins Every shop I do in Aldi now gets more expensive, god knows what will happen when petrol goes up.

Anyway, I have a cheery thought for those, like me, suffering gin/wine withdrawal. It’s actually a good thing we can’t go out to lovely restaurants at the moment, to enjoy an evening meal in the sun or, like today, by the wood fires... we might as well be giving our livers a well deserved break from alcohol whilst we’re stuck at home.
It will make the freedom to drink, and go out, even more sweet when it happens, which might well be at about the same time.

There. Feel better?

ShagMeRiggins · 05/06/2020 20:04

I’m still working (I know, I know, but trying to clear out some follow up emails etc so I can relax over the weekend.)

Is it weird that I’m tempted to go into the kitchen and help put away all the groceries that have been purchased? And help with dinner (we always eat late)?

There’s a huge part of me remembering how many times I’ve done all this nonsense alone, for years, so I’m going to make a slim & like, sit outside for a few minutes, then maybe catch up on more work.

I am not setting foot in the kitchen tonight. We’ll share the cooking load tomorrow, maybe a nice side-by-side, which is always fun. Maybe with the children.

Waffling, sorry. Just very tired! Grin

ShagMeRiggins · 05/06/2020 20:07

There. Feel better?

No. Grin I want to add two shots of vodka to my Slim&Lime, that’s how I feel!

Won’t do it, and I truly appreciate your positive spin on things, ifeelfat.

BrassicaBabe · 05/06/2020 20:19

Lebanese take away?! How jealous am I?! Rural here. Best we can manage is pizza or kebab Sad

DD had pasta salad. DH and DS has pizza. I'm badly winging it on random LC contents of fridge. Nope, not me eating grated cheese straight from the bag. Nope. Yeah, bad planning tonight 🤦🏻‍♀️

ShagMeRiggins · 05/06/2020 20:34

Brassica can you summon the energy for that Fridge Raid Frittata?

devoncreamtea · 05/06/2020 20:34

Look what I found in Sainsbury’s 🙂

I think I can Shag. I've got energy. But I've just been hit like by a truck of IRRITATION and BORDOM.

New Series of This is Us on Prime if anyone follows.

ShagMeRiggins · 05/06/2020 20:47

I’ve been meaning to watch This Is Us. Hearing so much great about it. Might have to rear husband away from Mayans (the follow up to Sons of Anarchy—hello Jax—which I loved despite the eye-watering violence).

devon it looks like cheese pops are a thing, they’ve made it happen Grin

ShagMeRiggins · 05/06/2020 20:48

Also, Brassica and anyone hit by irritation or boredom—put on your music. Headphones or Sonos or CD, whatever works. Immerse yourself. It helps me immensely.
