Good evening!

Trying to get ahead of everything, as I know tomorrow will be a real rush with people signing up, etc.

Here's the spreadsheet with many thanks to the ever lovely @AthelstaneTheUnready for her sterling efforts

Hi all. I’m very impressed at a 24 mile walk. I did 2 hours round knole yesterday evening and felt knackered.

I think I need to swap my lunches and dinners round. I’ve been having bigger/more filling lunches and then not wanting dinner till 7-8pm then having something fairly light (yesterday lunch was roast chicken, 2 chipolatas, slaw and green salad and dinner was sashimi. Today lunch was a spinach, and cheese omelette with green salad, dressing and black olives and dinner was poached chicken, veg and konjac spicy noodle broth. Both days had some Greek yogurt And tea with soya milk for breakfast.).

But I think IF might work better if I have the more filling meal to ‘last the fast’ as it were.

I am also not counting calories as I can get a bit weird about it all.

LostaraYil · 28/05/2020 20:08

Feeling a bit flat today, not proper keto flu but just lethargic.

L- leftover roast veg and pork
Snack- celery with a bit of boursin
D- lettuce tacos with beef chilli (DH kindly took mine out before adding beans)
2 longish dog walks
I'm enjoying the IF, I end up making the most of my food when I can finally have it! Also not missing the after dinner chocolate and wine as much as I thought I would.

Ragwort · 28/05/2020 20:09

That hint about strike though is very helpful sorry to go off topic. Been wondering about that in the two years since I've had an iPad Grin.

ExShield · 28/05/2020 20:09

Apologies for idiot question here but, seeing as we are calorie counting, which yoghurt do I buy? The lower calorie low fat one? Or the low carb full fat one?

Sorry. The calorie thing confuses me a bit.

ilovecherries · 28/05/2020 20:25

Fairly successful day food wise

1.30pm - two poached egg on smooshed avocado and lettuce
7.30 pm - pork stir fry (which included a FLV - shallots, mushrooms, celery, spinach, asparagus and broccoli)

I’m doing about 17-18 hour fasts. Water drunk. I currently have my keto triad of splitting headache, itchy skin and a bit smelly from my pores. I am an attractive proposition.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 28/05/2020 20:29

Low carb full fat! Just eat a bit less of it.

She says.

Having had a horrible day and totally missed the calorie target. Still under 'normal' for my needs though. Could have been worse - emotionally binged on steak tartare instead of crisps and wine.

Actually, the call of the carb wasn't even noisy. But the comfort call was.

72% fat, 21% protein, 7% carbs (25g).

So really, a successful low carb day. Just not for this particular week. Off to bed now while I'm still relatively sane.

greengoose21b · 28/05/2020 20:32

Another day down, 872 cals, 37g carbs so still in pretty good form.

Any plans I may have had to eat stodgy flax porridge and curry Konjac noodles went completely out the window.

I had chunks of cheese, a hardboiled egg and a small carrot for lunch, then FLGV with gravy for dinner. And some Greek yoghurt with chia seeds because I'm worth it Smile

venusandmars · 28/05/2020 20:36

rufflebelly I had a family member who did the same. I tried and tried all kinds of different strategies but I felt like she was so thwarted that she would almost stand over me watching to make sure I ate Sad

Eventually I told her that eating sugar was affecting my health, making me ill, that I was taking doctor's advice and I just wouldn't eat the things she offered (in my case it was partly true due to high blood pressure and pre-diabetes, except that it was diet doctor's advice rather than my useless GP Grin). Personally it was also affecting my mental health getting into a battle with her.

She sulked for a while (months) and made snide remarks like "Well all that butter can't be good for your health". Everyone else said how well I was looking.

venusandmars · 28/05/2020 20:41

ExSheild never the low fat one.

Even if we are being more conscious of calories for this week, it is just so we are more aware of how things add up. If you have low fat yogurt you are more likely to end up feeling hungry and then tempted to snack on all the wrong things. The full fat yog, even mixed with cream, will leave you feeling fuller.

I had an interesting thing happen at dinner time. Halfway through my food I got a call that I had to answer. Was away for 15 minutes. I came back and I was no longer hungry. The rest of my dinner is in the fridge for tomorrow. That's the impact of high fat eating.

Rshard · 28/05/2020 20:46

Hope you manage to navigate the picnic rufflebelly, your dh’s plan sounds a good one.

Gave blood this evening, rejected the post donation biscuit but gained a pint of water to my total. So all good.

BrassicaBabe · 28/05/2020 20:50

Wow rufflebelly. That friend sounds like proper hard work. Hope you find the right words to tell her to do one.

Totally bolloxed again. What is going on?! I was LC last week, not too much has changed this week. Slightly less cals and slightly more exercise I guess is the answer. Zzzzzzzzz

Ifeelfat · 28/05/2020 21:08

A question.

Fasted until 1:00pm. Lunch was mozzarella and Parmesan omelette with FLGV and OO. yum.
Really busy afternoon and evening. It got to 6.30 and I felt I ought to eat although I wasn’t really hungry.
Chicken and cheese salad.

Should I have bothered? I didn’t want the calories to be too low as I’m not sure how useful that is in the long run due to the body ‘getting used’ to fewer calories - but it really goes against the grain to eat when I’m not hungry.

Puppermint · 28/05/2020 21:14

@BeyondDreamsOfBeyondFourWalls Thank you for the strikeout advice testing, testing, testing Grin

PseudoBadger · 28/05/2020 21:27

Got told off by MFP so had to make up 100 calories. Today I walked for 2 hours and then did a bike ride for 50 minutes. Knackered! And MFP reckons I ate less than I burned?

SophieRay · 28/05/2020 21:31

Ifeelfat- I was exactly the same today, got to 7.30 and I though I really should eat something as I'm not going to be able to until noon tomorrow and made an omelette even though I wasn't hungry and managed to eat half of it - but felt wrong trying to force myself to eat something, just seems a long time to not be able to. Sorry don't know if it is right or not, just letting you know you're not the only one!

SophieRay · 28/05/2020 21:44

I'm still on track (I think!)
L: beef mince, courgette, chopped tomatoes and cheese
D: half an omelette with bacon and mushrooms
3 litres water
2 x 5k walks
2 cups black tea
Total 843 cals and 14 carbs Smile
Don't feel as down as I did last night either, hopefully that will last

Ifeelfat · 28/05/2020 21:47

Also just thought I’d add a suggestion. So many of you posting lovely recipes but I don’t really cook so this is my contribution...

Sitting on sofa on (iPad) MN at end of day and reading all about your various exercises, I thought I’d have a look on YouTube for some sitting exercise as I couldn’t be arsed to move. Twenty five minutes later, red faced and sweaty, arms burning, I feel great. Did several 5 and 7 m8nute workouts for arms and legs on the sofa.

Can not recommend highly enough for lazy fuckers like me Grin

BIWI · 28/05/2020 22:08

@PseudoBadger

Got told off by MFP so had to make up 100 calories

Ignore MFP!

@Ifeelfat love it :-D

Anyway, I'm signing out and off to bed now. Feel tired, headacey and icky...I'll be rooting through the cupboards unless I take myself upstairs. Not bad day food wise though
B - Coffee
L - mushroom omelette
D - prawn and avocado salad

PseudoBadger · 28/05/2020 22:13

@BIWI I know!

NumbsMet · 28/05/2020 22:20

@Ifeelfat what was the channel on YouTube? Smile I can't get out to exercise so that sounds brilliant

NumbsMet · 28/05/2020 22:26

Still feeling queasy but I'm pushing through and searching for any foods that might make me enjoy this a bit more Smile

B- Sparkling water
L- Babybel
D- Tagine Chicken thighs with some salad, some guacamole and no hoummus Wink

I haven't felt this hopeful in a long time so I just wanted to drop a quick note to say thank you to everybody, especially @BIWI and @AthelstaneTheUnready but also to everyone who is checking in with their progress. Thank you for helping me to stay on track and work towards a happier me Smile I hope everyone on this journey gets to where they want to be!

Mummyoflittledragon · 28/05/2020 22:31

I’m in bed now feeling like I ate a brick. Ate my dinner at the approach to end of hour 8 then felt ravenous an hour and a half later. In hindsight I think I was thirsty. But didn’t recognise this and is decided to eat something and ended up scoffing 200ml coconut yoghurt. Anyway I’ve had loads to drink now and will think to guzzle some water first.

Breakfast
Chicken leg / roast / boiled veg

Snack
Salami
Coconut yoghurt

Dinner
Shepherds pie - this is all MINE. This was portion 3

Out of hours snack
200ml coconut yogurt

Not planning on sticking to the calorie counting. But realising that had I not eaten those circa 158 calories, I’d have come in at under 1000. Anyway that makes:

1119 calories
39 carbs

prettybird · 28/05/2020 22:38

So today:
Lunch was left over salad from last night, 2 slices of Emmental, a slice of salami Milano & 2 spoonfuls of Greek yoghurt with a pinch of cinnamon
Snack: a slice of Emmental a slice of salami
Dinner: 1/3 of a 6 egg frittata, made with coconut oil and butter, Parmesan, a leek and 2 shallots.

Consciously trying to drink water every time I think I want a snack Smile

Did my Ripped DVD and went for a 3.5km run (really slow and felt crap Sad but did it Smile)

Saw 12st 0.5lb on the scales this morning so I might actually break into 11st something by the end of the week! Grin

Redrosesandsunsets · 28/05/2020 22:40

I’m a few days late but wanting to start. Can I still be added! Thanks
