Good morning Flowers

here's the Spreadsheet

So there are 4 weeks left. Still time to drop a good pound or two to get us ready for a svelte Christmas Smile

Not an easy time of the year, I know, because of all the various social events to navigate. But stay focused and concentrate on your ultimate goal for this Bootcamp every time you're about to pop something too carby in your mouth!

I hope you all have good results on the scales/with the tape measure, this morning - and here's to a good week ahead

Thank you for help @venusandmars....I have suspected perhaps it's the dairy. I didn't have any today.
The low carb bread (livlife) is 3.4g a slice and I usually have two, as they are tiny....but so satisfying. That's alright isn't it Hmm?

Nuts are cashews and almonds, 10 pieces in total, perhaps that's too much, but not everyday. Berries are around 60g that's prob a lot and I have these most days.
I always log what I eat in an app so it tells me I'm usually under 30g a day.
But perhaps I'm grazing too much so I've cut that out today.

I could substitute these snacks for salmon or meat but I worry I'll have too much protein - is that true?

I also manage to drink 2.5- 3L of water.

Dia12 · 28/11/2019 23:33

I wanted to ask how your 8 course dinner went? Sounded lovely, hope you swerved the dessert!

DownUdderer · 29/11/2019 06:25

I’m having a good low carb day today. I think I’ll have veggies and cheese for dinner, maybe some bacon. I’m really trying my hardest to get enough water.

I had a great hike today, really good step count.

StuntNun · 29/11/2019 07:22

My calories are generally around 1100 kcals so I know I'm not over eating.

Dia12 I can all but guarantee that your weight loss stall is because you are eating too few calories. I recommend an absolute minimum of 1400 per day if you want the scales to start moving again. The easiest way is to add more fat - lots of oil and vinegar dressing on salad, or add butter to your vegetables. And you don't need to worry about protein intake at all, it's only an issue if you're following a keto diet or minimising your fat intake.

BIWI · 29/11/2019 09:10

@Dia12

@StuntNun is absolutely right to call you out on the calorie counting! Why are you restricting your calories? We don't do that on Bootcamp.

Also, looking at your menus, it seems to me that you're not eating enough veg and you're probably having a bit too much processed stuff and carbs - ditch the low carb bread for a while and add more veg (and fat) each day.

You're snacking 2 out of those 3 days too, which suggests you're hungry between meals - again, indicating you're a) not eating enough and (especially) b) not eating enough fat.

Try ditching the fruit and nuts, but add more veg (which you can cook with butter/serve with melted butter).

Thanks for the feedback. I haven't been deliberately limiting my calories, just have not been very active due to ankle injury so ended up not eating as much.
The meals are all home made from fresh so with veg added, and a salad usually. I can add a side of veg as well and see how I go.
I'll give the bread, nuts and berries a miss for a while and up the butter.

I'm curious about the metabolic difference between keto diet and this way of eating? Does the body still enter ketosis with higher protein intake?

whojamaflip · 29/11/2019 09:34

Ok finally feeling brave enough to confess to a major falling off the wagon last weekend which resulted in a 2lb gain Blush

Dd was at a competition all weekend which meant a stay in the Premier inn and I basically hoovered up everything in sight Blush combination of being totally bored and craving sugar for 3 days.........which I gave into Sad

Anyhoo back on the WOE and I'm pleased to say I'm back down to 147 but it's been hard work.

Have updated the spreadsheet with my sins for last week and hopefully will be showing a loss by Monday 🤞

DownUdderer · 29/11/2019 10:40

I had loads of veggies for dinner and bacon and cheese. Then a handful of cashews.

I bought a dress on eBay and it looks great on! I’m chuffed.

StuntNun · 29/11/2019 14:37

Watch out for cashews DownUdderer they're super-carby.

Dia keto is being used as the new trendy descriptor for a low carb diet so some people will say keto, meaning low carb. With our low carb-high fat approach it's irrelevant whether we're in ketosis or not. All we care about is keeping carbs, and therefore insulin, low. We eat more fat to make up the reduction in calories from cutting out carbohydrate-rich foods. Protein intake can be anywhere from 15% to about 45% - in my opinion more is better since protein is the most satiating macro. A ketogenic diet is formulated to minimise carbohydrate and maximise ketone production for therapeutic purposes. High ketones can help in conditions such as epilepsy and Parkinson's. Very low carbohydrate can potentially play a role in cancer treatment. You need to limit protein on a ketogenic diet since it can increase blood glucose levels beyond the therapeutic range. Unless you have a medical condition for which a ketogenic diet is recommended then there's no need for it. It won't make weight loss any quicker and it's much harder to stick to.

Nonononon · 29/11/2019 18:23

Food today.

L: spicy ribs and an avocado. Cream coffee.
D: pork Bolognese with loads of kale in butter and some parmesan

absopugginglutely · 29/11/2019 19:40

Hi all just checking in, I’ve been so busy lately so haven’t managed to check in for the first two days.
Yesterday I had a conference in Birmingham and there were pastries and bagels galore which I swerved and just had lamb and broccoli for lunch from the buffet.
For tea I had Waitrose tomato and basil soup a piece of Camembert and some pieces of tofu.
I didn’t do well with water yesterday and had a massive headache last night having had loads of coffe.

Today I had
B: cream coffee
L: Waitrose low carb chicken veg soup
D: Salmon and buttery salty Brussels, asparagus and courgette.
2 cream coffee.
Looking forward to the weekend of being better with water.
I’ve had a litre so far two more to fit in now eek.

LittleSwede · 29/11/2019 20:04

This toothache and cluster of ulcers is making eating rather difficult today. Can't eat anything requiring much chewing!

B - Greek yogurt and some cheese with butter
L - omelette with blue cheese
D - broccoli and stilton soup, added a glug of double cream to it

DH gave me some of the Christmas Congac to 'help numb the area', hoping it's low carb as it was delicious Blush and it made me feel a bit better too.

Have kept up with water intake though.

DownUdderer · 30/11/2019 11:15

Nearly December!

Twit · 30/11/2019 12:05

Hi all. Really pleased to hear there'll be a January bootcamp, thanknyou @StuntNun. I'll definitely be using the thread over Christmas as well, as I'd like to stay accountable. 😬
I'm planning on staying on course over christmas, with, if I feel like it, ONE 'treat' that isn't bootcamp friendly on Christmas eve, Christmas day and boxing day and then back to it before starting the january bootcamp.
In an ideal world, I'll get to a whole stone's loss by week 10 for this camp...and I've only got 2 lbs to go so...
I ovulated early, this month and only gained 2 lbs (although I was pretty ill as well and didn't eat much).
I lost 3lbs once that was all over with, which I sustained after eating normally again which was yay!
So its doable.
Welcome to the new people, and I hope everyone has a good weekend 😊

moleeye · 30/11/2019 20:40

Weigh in yest, down 2.2lb, takes me to 19.5 so far. Finally starting to see it in my face!

Would love another half a stone by Christmas but we will see.

L-Brie, bacon, onion frittata in lots of butter with a pea shoot salad and half an avocado

D- crispy pork belly with cauliflower and leek cheesey gratin and Brussels and cavolo nero fried in butter

4 litres of water
2 black coffees

absopugginglutely · 30/11/2019 23:33

I went to my first Christmas party tonight and had Prosecco which I had to throw down the sink because it was sooo sweet after weeks of boot camp it was actually horrid but I did have a Baileys which I wasn’t going to have u til Christmas Eve and it was lovely and I dont regret it. Maybe I will in the morning!
I served all food because it was just all flour based snacks.

B: cream coffee
L:celery and almond butter
D: chicken breast in low carb Mediterranean sauce withFLGV

Drinks: small Prosecco
Red wine half a glass
1x Baileys

2.5 litres water eek!

DownUdderer · 01/12/2019 03:58

I’ve had a Thai beef salad for lunch today. Yum

Iris1 · 01/12/2019 07:03

Hi,

Enjoying reading updates especially the menus as it gives me ideas!

Weighed in this morming at 10st1.8. So I'm down a total of 10.4Ibs. Im so chuffed. Im now 1.8Ib away from my first target which was to reach 10 stone by Xmas. I'm now wondering if I can hold out hope to see a number 9 by the 22nd.

Today.
B - Creamy coffee, black coffee later, lots of water.
L - low carb sausages , avocado half, mushrooms.
D - roast dinner. For me will be Pork, cabbage in butter, broccolli (likely roasted in oil), sprouts.

Lots more water.

Nonononon · 01/12/2019 08:44

I ate a bit more yesterday than I had planned, had a friend over and we ended up getting a take away, I stuck to plan but still feel a little guilty..
Yesterday looked like
L: some gammon ham and 1 small avocado
D: bag of kale in a bacon, cream and parmesan sauce.

Then I got a mixed kebab with salad from the take away, I ate all of the chicken and lamb and half of the donner with garlic sauce, also ate all of the salad, I gave away pita bread and dodged the chips and garlic bread. So could have been worse but I didnt really need it, I just fancied it but this is the first time I've gone off plan in almost 8 weeks so I'm not going to give myself a hard time over it 🤷‍♀️

Not sure what today will look like, currently having a black coffee.

Nonononon · 01/12/2019 08:45

Oh and I had some walnuts inbetween lunch and dinner too.

IWillWearTheGreenWillow · 01/12/2019 09:00

Urgh. Have had the cold from hell this week so haven't really had an appetite, just madly hydrated with ginger and lemon tea. Have stayed on plan as far as possible.

This morning was Advent Breakfast with Advent Calendars (a big day in the Willow House) and I swerved the traditional pastries in favour of keto cinnamon rolls made with mozzarella and almond flour. I will confess to using brown sugar not stevia for the cinnamon filling, but it was only a tbsp over 12 rolls, 4 of which I've eaten, so I hope I can get away this it. Anyway, they were lovely which bodes well for Christmas.

Lunch today - left over salmon and veg.
Tea - roasted pork fillet and veg.
Water, water, water!

KondoKonvert · 01/12/2019 10:33

Had the hangover from hell yesterday. No idea how I managed to stay low carb but I did!

Drank way too much on Friday night and had loads of fun but it wasn't worth the headache. I had a carrot stick with some tzatziki and I couldn't believe how sweet it was. Like it had been dipped in sugar (I know it wasn't glazed as I was the one who prepped them!)

Back on focus today! Making neep soup with lots of butter and coconut oil. Also downing enormous mugs of peppermint tea.

I've been a bit stagnant for a couple of weeks, which I think is down to too much dairy/booze so making a concerted effort this week!

stayathomegardener · 01/12/2019 10:38

I'd be very interested in your Leto cinnamon roll recipe @IWillWearTheGreenWillow they sound delicious for Christmas morning.

stayathomegardener · 01/12/2019 10:38

Keto!

ShagMeRiggins · 01/12/2019 11:32

It’s so annoying how Mumsnet drops threads off my I’m On if I haven’t posted in a few days, despite having posted loads throughout the thread’s life. Just a Sunday morning grumble.

I’m doing all right, haven’t weighed myself this week much as too busy, which is good.

Painting the downstairs today so some unexpected stretching going on! Tonight’s feast is Jake in butter and caper sauce, plus cauliflower cheese and leeks/sugar snaps/courgettes all fried in butter. That is, if I can get my arms to move after all the painting.

WATER!!!!!
