Good morning Flowers

here's the Spreadsheet

So there are 4 weeks left. Still time to drop a good pound or two to get us ready for a svelte Christmas Smile

Not an easy time of the year, I know, because of all the various social events to navigate. But stay focused and concentrate on your ultimate goal for this Bootcamp every time you're about to pop something too carby in your mouth!

I hope you all have good results on the scales/with the tape measure, this morning - and here's to a good week ahead

Yesterday’s food was a bit lacking in green stuff, just a load of salad at lunch so will be better today.

Starting with a black coffee and the first half litre of water.

DownUdderer · 26/11/2019 08:52

I’ve lost a pound this week.

I think for Christmas I’ll have a few treats and try and be sensible. If I put on weight I’ll be gutted so I’ll be as good as I can. I don’t cook a turkey or a roast or anything special, we’re in Australia so BBQ suits us better, and I’ll not bother with carbs.

BREAKING NEWS BREAKING NEWS BREAKING NEWS BREAKING NEWS

I'm really pleased to let you know that @StuntNun is going to run the January Bootcamp Smile

You will all be in the best of hands! and I'm sure she'll use the Big Stick well in my absence

I, meanwhile, will be sunning myself in sunny South Africa. (For all those burglars struggling to lose weight who are on this thread, don't rush round to my house as my DS will be there all the time we're away Grin)

KondoKonvert · 26/11/2019 10:51

Thank you @BIWI and @StuntNun - it's very much appreciated!

I loved South Africa - my most favourite holiday ever! I'm green with envy!!

Rshard · 26/11/2019 11:14

Thanks BIWI and stuntnun

Rayna37 · 26/11/2019 11:29

Ooh thank you BIWI and Stuntnun as while this end of year bootcamp has been a bit quieter, there are always lots of people starting the new year with a desire to make positive changes!

moleeye · 26/11/2019 11:38

Struggling today. Want to stuff my face with bread, toast and cakes! I will not give in 💪🏼

Going to make a coffee and drink more water

One of those days. Hey ho. Onwards and upwards I guess

TamingToddler · 26/11/2019 12:09

I was sceptical on the first bootcamp I did back in may, and there was a few posters that said they'd lost weight with this WOE on previous bootcamps, now I'm going to be that person to the newbies saying yep I lost 2 and a half stone Grin

Nonononon · 26/11/2019 12:19

Oh I had one of those days the other day moleeye it was awful. Hope it goes away soon for you.

Thanks BIWI and stuntnun! Pleased there will be a boot camp in January as I plan to continue with this woe into the new year!
13.5lbs to shift, will use boot camp until I get to goal but I'm staying on this woe for life!

Don't know if anyone remembers but 3 weeks ago I said I took a picture of me in some trousers I have never been able to get into (impulse buy with the intention of fitting in them "one day" Hmm) well today they do up!!! Theyre still too tight to wear but i definitely will be wearing them by the end of this boot camp!

First picture 3 weeks ago, second one today. I wish I'd taken a picture at the very start of boot camp, but try to imagine them being just above my knees and you can get an idea of how they fitted before Grin

Week 7 - Low Carb Bootcamp - just a month to go until Christmas!
Iris1 · 26/11/2019 12:29

Down to 10 stone 3.6... loss of 8.6 overall.
Holding to reach 10 stone by Christmas but won't be too upset if I don't as I know I've done well.

I was hungry last night so trying to eat a bit more today. Just breaking my fast with stir fried cabbage and Kale, mashed Swede (leftovers) also added to frying pan, two fried eggs. All in butter and Olive oil.
Will have a cream coffee later on and the tea will be 2x chicken thighs roasted with butter and paprika rubbed on, roasted broccolli and some other green veg I can dig out.
Lots of water as per. Averaging about 3 to four litres. No gym today so prob just 3 litres.

NSV is I'm comfortable in a size 10 leather skirt that previously would not zip up! Its on the snugger of sides so i imagin will feel better with a few more pounds shifted but im well chuffed regardless.

Will defo be doing bootcamp in January.

Plan for Xmas is to treat it as 3 days. So I will have some nice chocolates and some desert on Xmas and boxing day. I will stick to white wine/fizz and the odd Gin. I will have some roast potatoes/carrots. But I have no desire to start munching bread, crackers, pasta, croissants etc etc

I think I can do it and enjoy the period without ruining things and feeling awful

Iris1 · 26/11/2019 12:39

I'm also due my period in the next few days which could explain the hunger? So I'm gonna up my fat over the next couple of days. Weirdly all my pre menstrual give away signs have gone whilst eating low carb, no mood swings, no emotional breakdown, no weird stomach ache and feeling exhausted. I have a few of my usual hormonal spots but not to the extent I normally do either. I suppose there is still time but it didn't happen last month so I have high hopes!
Best side effect ever I think

absopugginglutely · 26/11/2019 12:45

@Iris1 I’m the same! I have had the most seamless PMT this month I normally feel exhausted, depressed, bite DH’s head off, starving, bloated, cold and nauseous.
This month I was just a bit snappy and HAD to have a cup of cocoa (1tspn 8.6g carbs per 100g just in water with a bit of cream!)
And my period is lighter.
Brilliant victory!

moleeye · 26/11/2019 12:55

Thanks @Nonononon trying not to sabotage myself!

moleeye · 26/11/2019 12:56

Also @Nonononon whoop whoop on the trousers!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

1Wildheartsease · 26/11/2019 14:31

That sounds like a great holiday plan BIWI - and many thanks to Stuntnun for taking the big baton.

Well done on those dramatic changes @BIWI

My plan for Christmas is to have plenty of the HFLC foods I really enjoy and only have portions of other things after that ... if I still want them (or if it is essential for 'political' reasons).

Thanks for the advice. I danced at the wedding - till the very end :) and coped with offers of very carby food thanks to the great HFLC breakfast at the pub.

(Not talking about the wine though - there were a lot of unknown people to be polite to and many hours standing about trying to look tidy.)

Home with a cold now :( - and sore throat -and lots of work to catch-up on.

I've just posted the undairy-creamy-cauli and garlic soup recipe that has been a reviver this afternoon.

1Wildheartsease · 26/11/2019 14:32

THat should be well-done @Nonononon

(Well done BIWI as well for anything great you have done lately -but I don't know how it clicked to your name in my post - sorry!)

BIWI · 26/11/2019 14:35

I did wonder what I was supposed to have done Grin

Please can I (re ) join ? I’ve had a couple of brilliant boot camps but when I go off piste - it all bounces back -149 lbs at the end of Jan 2019 boot camp today I’m 167.5 ! WTF happened ? Plan :-

  1. I will not lurk , I will post .
  2. I will have 2x black coffee for breakfast- not coffees with cream
  3. I will plan food in advance and not eat / binge on the run
  4. I will not pretend I’m on a fasting day ( when I’ve been too rushed to have breakfast and then forgotten to take lunch to work ) and then arrive home and go on a feeding frenzy .

Really pleased to hear Stuntnun has kindly stepped in for January - this thread is so inspiring- I’m off to read the rules again

Nonononon · 26/11/2019 16:36

Had some lovely food today.

L: (same as yesterday) bag of mixed salad leaves, half an avocado, two fried eggs and a piri piri smoked mackerel fillet.
D: (see pic) was cabbage and courgette fried in butter with garlic, I then added some double cream and parmesan.
And I made some scotch eggs without the breadcrumbs as I had lots of mince pork to use up. (The little dish on the side is just mayo and wholegrain mustard for dipping)

Super progress pics nononon and your dinner looks lovely!

Welcome back bingenomore

DownUdderer · 27/11/2019 02:45

I’ve gone off plan for two meals. I’ll be good now and get off the carbs.

absopugginglutely · 27/11/2019 07:31

@ looks delicious!!
My dinners always look like a monstrosity! But they’re delicious!
Welcome back binge no more, well done for getting back on it at this time of year, that should build you some resolve with all the CF’s being offered around at every turn!

I can’t plan my meals in advance because I never know how I’m going to feel come lunch/dinner time but I do only buy FLGV and ingredients for a range of meat/ fish/ egg dishes to get temptation out of the house.

I do but potatoes, pasta, bread and cereal for DH and DD but somehow I’m not tempted at all.

I haven’t even been buying the small bars of 85% chocolate because for me it’s the slippery slope. I am really looking forward to being on maintenance and being able to have the odd thing but maybe that’s harder to stay on track.

Help!
I've not used MN for years (I was last on a Bootcamp here back in 2015) but feel the need for some companionship so hope it's ok to jump back in.
Long story short is that since my late teens I've had a problem with disordered eating and my weight has yo-yoed between an underweight 7st something to over 17st, usually settling toward the higher end.
I've tried all. the. diets.
Weight Watchers, Slimming World, Atkins, Whole 30, Keto, VLCD, Dukan, Blood Sugar, Intermittent Fasting etc
I know that lchf works and often combine it with meal replacement shakes.
I know what to do, but I just can't ever stick with it.
I sabotage myself all the time.
In the last couple of years I've been diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation and various other ailments and the extra weight is doing me no favours.
I don't smoke, have cut back my caffeine and haven't have given up alcohol.
The one thing left that I can do to help myself is lose weight.
I've recently had blood tests to rule out Diabetes and Thyroid issues and the Nurse at my Dr's Surgery is in the process of referring me to a Psychologist as she thinks that might help.
This morning I hit my highest weight ever and need to do something and I need some friendly support as I just can't do it on my own.

Sorry. That wasn't very short after all Blush

oggs · 27/11/2019 09:03

have given up alcohol

BIWI · 27/11/2019 10:10

Welcome (back) @oggs! I think it would be a good idea for you to post your meals each day, to start with, so that we can be sure you're eating properly - I'm concerned if you have a history of disordered eating!

Hopefully the referral to the psychologist will help you as well as the support we can give you here Flowers
