Morning all! Very sorry for the late start. I set my alarm. Woke up. Wondered why I'd set my alarm and went straight back to sleep Blush

Anyhoo.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

For those of us who are new, the spreadsheet is not only where you record your weight (if you want to - it's not obligatory), it's also where you'll find lots of other useful information. Look at the tabs at the bottom for the rules, a veg counter (that will work out your carb count for you if you're using it for a recipe), and lots of other resources to help you learn more about low carbing.

I'll be back to post more stuff later this morning, but for now just wanted to get the link out there.

If you're using your phone to access the thread, you will need to download the Google docs app.

Oh and I forgot to post my food plan. Breakfast scrambled eggs. Lunch salad with more egg.
Dinner fried spicey prawns, halloumi, avocado, and green veg - probably runner beans.

And I agree. The easiest breakfast/lunches are leftover.

Oh and I might have a litre or four of water Grin

Hi!
Starting weight of 13 st Shock and I'm measuring tonight- so at the biggest time of the day, but I'm doing that on purpose to keep me motivated and not give into my evening cravings. I'm also going to take a photo in some jeans, but I won't be sharing them Blush
So far I've eaten:
a hardboiled egg and some smoked salmon,
A gluten free burger and cheese (I know, that's not great)
Tonight will be belly pork, spinach & mushrooms.
I've had 1 litre of water so far, I'm aiming for 3 but will settle for 2 for the first couple of days whilst I get used to it.
Good luck everyone! Flowers

Lots of great stuff on here already and had to laugh at the PP who commented they were getting their exercise in by going to the loo! My regular watch has broken and so I'm wearing my Garmin to work and my step count is not great! The loo trips are definitely helping.

Breakfast: three eggs scrambled with butter and a splash of cream - usually just have two eggs with butter but I thought the tip a while back of eating lots (of BC food) in the first couple of days was a good plan!
Snack: some Singleton Parlick cheese in place of my usual nut portion.
Lunch: Leftover roast chicken with mayo and mustard on salad leaves, tomatoes and cucumber. Greek Yogurt.
Dinner: will be kedgeree using cauli rice; the recipe is on the seafood thread.

I’m a longtime mumsnet lurker and used all the old boot camp threads as inspiration when I did lchf for 4 months in the spring. List a ton of weight and felt amazing. Then holiday season happened at I’m a stone away from my goal weight. Feel super happy I managed to get on a boot camp from the start 😀

SaoirseSeahorse · 14/10/2019 13:24

Thank you for the thread and spreadsheet of fabulousness!

(I think), I've added my weight to the spreadsheet. I am 13 stone and half a pound.

My 'happy weight' is 10 and a half stone, so that is rather a lot to lose!

I would happily take 11 and half though, as that would put me safely in the healthy weight range. I am currently about 20lbs overweight.

I have a yoga class later today, so I'll take a pic in my sports bra and leggings...maybe just for my records. I'm not sure anyone else needs to see that, 😬 😂.

So far I've had:

B: a bit rubbish - just a tea with whole milk. Doing this bootcamp was a last minute decision, so I didn't have anything in. The baby and I went to the shops this morning though, so I've got some supplies now!

L: salmon fillet x 2, stir fried in coconut oil, with pak choi, baby corn and mushrooms

D: roast chicken and mashed swede with chicken jus

Snacks: coffee with extra thick cream and maybe some almonds, (are these allowed yet please)?

canihaveabunplease · 14/10/2019 13:27

@AthelstaneTheUnready thank you!! There will be lots of green veg and noooooooo pasta!! I am going to do a shop this evening and get some chicken to cook for lunch tomorrow. I don't really know what else I'll have?! Bolonese with salad?? Fish?? I'm definitely a fish out of water here lolz.

8Track · 14/10/2019 13:28

@SaoirseSeahorse Afraid the almonds are out for the first 2 weeks of bootcamp, unless you're veggie. I like celery chunks for that satisfying snacky crunch.

DearPrudence · 14/10/2019 13:29

Starting today. Bootcamp has been brilliant for me in the past. Nearly didn't start because it's my birthday at the weekend but figured if I can get five great days in before that I'll feel better.

Today: B - just a coffee
L - turkey slices, lettuce, mayonnaise
D - will be bolognese sauce
Snack - olives if I need them

SaoirseSeahorse · 14/10/2019 13:30

Ah thank you so much @8track! Luckily, I haven't eaten them yet. They can stay in my cupboard for a couple of weeks 👍.

1Wildheartsease · 14/10/2019 13:30

It's still wellington-boot-camp over here. I am dripping with water on the outside (after obligatory dog-walk) as I fill up with hot water on the inside :).

Salad does not appeal today.

B: Bullet-proof coffee and eggs
L: Leek and celeriac soup
D Low carb Sausages with broccoli-cheese bake (and perhaps swede/celeriac mash)

AthelstaneTheUnready · 14/10/2019 13:42

canihaveabun, I do (very little tomato added) bolognese in a dish, layered inbetween (pre-fried in butter) courgettes. Top with mozarella and bake for 15mins. Eat leftovers for days.

absopugginglutely · 14/10/2019 13:43

Thank you BIWI!
I’m on week 3 today so encouraged by over half a stone gone!
But still have a whole stone to lose and a family visit at the end of October to deal with (MIL’s carby cooking) 😬
So far today Ive had.

B: 60g brie, 2 slices of firm tamari tofu
1x cream coffee

Snack: some corned beef slices
Coffee with cream and 1 tsp cocoa

Dinner will be roast chicken with skin and ceased salad sans croutons.

absopugginglutely · 14/10/2019 13:44

Caesar

Cauliflowerpower · 14/10/2019 13:44

Hi everyone. Been trying to get time to post all day. It's my day with the girls so I've now caved and come to soft play....

Cant remember who said about easy breakfasts but I tend to make a batch of breakfast for the week on a Sunday or Monday . This week I've done egg muffins. Another week I might do sausage and bacon or some low carb pancakes and just get one out each day..I also tend to do dinners that last 2 nights to cut down on work there too! Lunch in The week tends to be salads but I need to work on this going into winter.

B- egg muffin
L - rollitos and cucumber (not the greatest but only had brekky really late)
D - cauliflower and broccoli cheese soup.

Right weight to DS ay was 18.9. Looking forward to getting back down and perhaps getting into my tight blue dress which featured in the last bootcamp!

Water water water!

Glenthebattleostrich · 14/10/2019 13:45

Well done on the quiting AthelstaneTheUnready. I'm almost 11 years smoke free. I quit to try to get pregnant and never restarted.

I came on to ask about how much to eat, I'm having awful sweet cravings today (and my period is due). I've had some liquorice herbal tea which is taking the edge off a bit. But I've just seen the eat loads of low carb food and I can definitely do that!!! Definitely pays to read the full thread 😁

Cauliflowerpower · 14/10/2019 13:47

I'll take some pics later. Thanks for the reminder!

ShagMeRiggins · 14/10/2019 14:05

SaoirseSeahorse you mentioned the baby—are you breastfeeding? Can’t remember if nugs are allowed under those circumstances, as they are with vegetarians, but worth highlighting for BIWI or others to answer.

Glen if I have sweet cravings—which is rare—I usually have more water or a bouillon. While that’s counter-intuitive it helps the craving pass. After two weeks you’ll be allowed some berries or a bit of dark chocolate which might help, but if you become adapted to this WOE (way of eating) your tastebuds will likely change and foods that previously held no sweetness will almost taste like a massive spoonful of sugar.

For whoever asked about breakfast...anything! I’m particularly fond of the previous night’s dinner, heated.

JFDI2019 · 14/10/2019 14:06

Right, I'm in, I'm committed, I WILL do this this!

Breakfast was boiled eggs and spinach in butter
Lunch is chicken salad and 2 babybels
Dinner will be a meat of some description with leeks and celery sauteed in butter and oil.

1.5L water down already, need to increase this...

SaoirseSeahorse · 14/10/2019 14:10

@ShagMeRiggins

'The baby' is actually almost 2yo and we stopped breastfeeding almost a year ago, sadly. I think I looked into bootcamp when we were still bfing and there were definitely more relaxed rules though, you're right.

Thanks anyway!

AthelstaneTheUnready · 14/10/2019 14:11

Thanks, Glen! If I get cravings, I usually just bring the timing of a big meal forward, i.e. have lunch an hour earlier or something. It's hard to have cravings when you're full.

1Wildheartsease · 14/10/2019 14:23

Had to change plan due to mystery of the missing leeks:

B: Bullet-proof coffee and eggs
L:Spanish-style omlette with bacon, shallots, spinach and fried celeriac +coffee with cream
D Low carb Sausages with broccoli-cheese bake (and perhaps swede/celeriac mash)

Water water water and rose-hip tea all day

graisse · 14/10/2019 14:30

So, got on the scales this morning, steeled myself for a shock - I got a shock alright. Blinkin' battery has died so scales aren't working! Unlikely to get to shops to get replacement until later this week.

Never mind, I can just imagine that I was 2lbs heavier than whatever the scales eventually show!

Off to glug more water

B: scrambled eggs made with cream and fried in butter
L: chicken breast (skin on) with big salad including avocado and drizzled in mayo, white wine vinegar and olive oil.

2 coffee and creams today.

SaoirseSeahorse · 14/10/2019 14:32

Just realised I haven't drunk any water today! Off to have some now. Oops. Thanks for the reminder^^!

Peaches2018 · 14/10/2019 14:46

Yaay ready to go!!! Just forgot to weigh myself this morning, little man wanted his toast. I'm doing this the veggie way since I've gone completely off of meat so I'm off to look at the veggie section later on. I absolutely have to do this my weight has gone completely out of control but the last time I did lchf I lost 2 stone along with exercise 5 times a week. Thanks@BIWI and everyone else who make this possible Flowers

Nonononon · 14/10/2019 14:48

Oooh @althelstane I'm doing bolagnaise tonight but I think I'll steal your idea and do the bake thing with courgettes, I don't have mozzarella in though so will have to use feta instead.

Ive made coleslaw! Used white and red cabbage, lidle mayo, Apple cider and white vinegar and a little seasoning.. it's currently doing it's thing in the fridge so will have it tomorrow with some chicken legs.
