Isn't 10 weeks a long time!

The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness is here one last time

Although this is the last official weigh-in, this thread will stay up for general chat/support until the next Bootcamp - probably in October.

I hope everyone has a good 'final' result.

Every Bootcamp is different, but this one has, I have to say, been remarkably well behaved Grin. I've lost the Big Stick somewhere in the back of a cupboard!

While I know you're all here and reading because I know people don't read all the posts if you want to take the opportunity to meet @ShagMeRiggins (and me) for a lighthearted Bootcamp style & beauty event probably with gin thrown in for good measure send me a PM!

Fantastic @NigellaAwesome 👏

tea69 · 06/08/2019 21:24

@venusandmars tanks for advice. I am counting on mfp too so I don't go too far off track.

tea69 · 06/08/2019 21:25

@YesQueen what's the low carb protein shake? I need these as a quick meal substitute.

BIWI · 06/08/2019 21:45

No meal substitutes @tea69! We eat real food on Bootcamp.

OP posts:
tea69 · 06/08/2019 21:50

Ooooh that's me told! 😆

Thought they'd be handy for the occasional breakfast!

YesQueen · 06/08/2019 22:44

@tea69 I only use them as due to work sometimes my breaks are cancelled and if I'm hungry I can't eat (no food at desk)

Otherwise I like egg mayo or the M&S ham/cheese rolls or something like that

Making something with meatballs tomorrow, not sure what. Need to go browse the recipe threads! I'm developing a cabbage addiction Grin

Hiya! CAtching up again - trying to keep with everyone. V. Exciting news re Greebols acting!

Have a q, don’t think it’s covered, had a quick look. I have developed eczema! It’s super itchy, just on my inner elbow crease. Could it be food or Lchf related? Any thoughts?

So glad so many are koko-ing 🙂

devoncreamtea · 07/08/2019 12:29

Also, has anyone looked at Suzanne Ryan online -( ketokarma.com) ?
I stumbled on her YouTube vids (ketokarma) and found them really inspirational. She really stuck to her goals and had great results. She posts loads of recipes - they are American measures so a bit annoying, but it has given me ideas.

Checking in < waves to everyone>

Fallen off the wagon a wee bit lately but back again and determined. Made a huge batch of cauli/chicken alfredo last night. You know when you have been slaving over a hot stove and then you don't want what you cooked? Well I was like that, but when I ate it it was luvverly. Still have three batches left to eat. Grin

I am about to have tomato and basil soup for lunch with some chilli cheese put into it.

(I bought some expensive Thai chicken soup from Tescos, it was on special so I got two tubs. It was rank, it tasted like I had forgotten to rinse the bowl after washing it up with too large a squirt of lemon washing up liquid. So that's £4 down the drain , literally, that's where I shall be pouring it later.)

Now off upthread to catch up with everyone else's progress.

Rayna37 · 07/08/2019 13:32

Feeling a bit chunky around the middle recently and had a bad day of food yesterday (well, lots of good stuff ruined by several terrible choices).

Today's food:
B: 2 scrambled eggs with butter
L: chicken, caesar dressing, spinach, tomato, cucumber, oil on the spinach
D: pork belly strips, cauli cheese and some kale
Also snack of mixed nuts. I portion out 210g per week each in a jar (30g per day) but rarely eat them all weekly, so just top up again. DH generally gets through his by Weds, despite (to his horror) now working in a nut free environment! Walnuts, brazils, pecans, almonds, a few cashews generally in the mix.

SittingontheSidelines · 07/08/2019 14:11

I had a planned, small, high carb meal at a social event today. It was very enjoyable but I have indigestion now. Dinner will be half the plate vegetables then the other half of the plate vegetables with a sprinkle of cheese on top.

1Wildheartsease · 07/08/2019 15:21

Hallo losers!

Happily maintaining here until after the holidays.

I had a bit of a revelation today. I wasn’t sure about a dress I’d bought so took a mirror selfie. The dress was NOT good. I took more selfies in other outfits and it was so clear what suited me and what didn’t. Basically anything fancy no good. Anything simple, good.

Also I hadn’t quite appreciated how much weight I’d lost (about 18ibs) and quite a few of my t shirts in particular are just too big

Am going to photograph myself every morning and get rid of stuff I don’t like

1stMrsF · 07/08/2019 18:12

B - creamy coffee around 11.30
L - two slices of ham spread with ff philly rolled up
D - cod in some sort of curry sauce with courgettes, spring greens and ts broccoli. I will then have used up all the slightly past their best vegetables and be able to fill the fridge with fresh new ones tomorrow Smile
Will probably have a few nuts as I'm a bit hungry (lack of veg for lunch I should think)

SittingontheSidelines · 08/08/2019 11:54

Where's everyone gone?

My plan for today

I've had an almond milk latte.

Lunch egg and cream cheese crepes with marmite and leaves.

Dinner Tuna salad (avocado, olives etc is included) dressed with olive oil and cider vinegar.

Rayna37 · 08/08/2019 12:34

B: two scrambled eggs with butter
snack of nuts
L: Cheesy egg and chive mayo (2 eggs, about 1oz cheese) on spinach, tomato and cucumber with oil
D: Haddock baked with olive oil roasted red onion, peppers and green beans and maybe pesto.

Outrageous courgette shortage last time I shopped! Might go on the hunt for M&S Meatzas for the weekend. Was planning a BBQ but weather looks bad so maybe a curry-making night instead.

Just had a conversation about clamping down on the office biscuit/cake culture as the key feeder is on holiday and we've just realised how great it is not having the temptation there now the tin is empty!

venusandmars · 08/08/2019 12:51

Was at BBQ yesterday - there were many lovely things to eat (avocado, mozzarella, halloumi, asparagus) as well as classic charred sausages and burgers, and sweetcorn, which I avoided. Interestingly there was so much nice food that all the guests were tucking into that and the host was left with a huge pile of buns that no-one had eaten. She offered me 12 to take away with me!

Today:
B - butter coffee
L - egg salad
D - summer veg bake with cheesy topping

@Rayna37 I'm also planning an Indian feast for the weekend, probably butter chicken (made with thighs and the skin taken off and roasted with spices to make spicy chicken crisps), Paneer mutter (cheese and peas but made with halloumi instead of paneer), saag, and I'm currently experimenting with the cream cheese pancake recipe but including fried shallots and curry powder (as an alternative to bhajis). Cucumber salad and yoghurt, of course, and cauliflower rice (will give guests a mix of cauliflower rice and usual rice). Roll on the weekend!

1Wildheartsease · 08/08/2019 13:16

PLAN FOR TODAY
b: Rosehip tea
1 litre of water

L 12:30 : Bullet-proof coffee
omlette with leeks, asparagus and a rasher of crispy bacon
1 litre water

redbush tea

D: before 8pm
Aubergine and halloumi veg bake from the roasting tin cookbook again (pitta bread for rest of family)
1 litre water
tea

1Wildheartsease · 08/08/2019 13:23

Venusandmars your weekend plan sounds wonderful!

I don't know if this came from here (it is in my collection for veg-loving meat-eaters) but... if you need to do more cooking :) here is a recipe for Brinjal bhaji
-also known as “aubergine bhaji”, is a vegan aubergine recipe that is typically served as a starter or side dish as part of an Indian meal.
INGREDIENTS
• 2 large aubergines
• 30ml (2 tbsp) vegetable oil
• 2.5ml (½ tsp) cumin seeds
• 3 cloves of garlic, chopped
• 2 whole dried red chillies
• 1 large onion, finely chopped
• 5ml (1 tsp) red chilli powder
• 5ml (1 tsp) cumin, roasted and ground
• 2 chopped tomatoes
• 2.5cm (1 inch) piece of ginger, chopped
• 2 green chillies, chopped
• 1 tsp salt
• 1.25ml (¼ tsp) garam masala
• 15ml (1 tbsp) chopped fresh coriander

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Cook the aubergine in the tandoor or alternatively, smear a little oil on the aubergine and roast it in a moderate oven for about 10-15 minutes. When the skin starts to wrinkle and soften, allow to cool, peel off the skin and mash to a pulp.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and red chillies and when they begin to crackle, add the garlic and sauté will golden brown. Now add the onions and sauté till they too begin to turn brown. Add the chilli powder and cumin powder and cook for half a minute. Add the tomatoes and cook till they are mashed. Add the ginger and green chillies and mix in the mashed aubergine pulp and stir well for two more minutes.
  3. Add salt and fresh coriander and sprinkle the garam masala. Mix well and turn the heat off after 30 seconds.
  4. Serve as a side with with a full Indian meal or enjoy as lunch with bread of your choice.
Rayna37 · 08/08/2019 13:32

Ooh thanks I've printed that recipe out 1Wildhearts and venusandmars I recommend the onion bhaji recipe from IPD which is at the bottom of the Vegetarian recipe thread!

SittingontheSidelines · 08/08/2019 13:36

That looks good @1Wildheartsease

1Wildheartsease · 08/08/2019 14:48

I agree with you both about warming food being required this weekend. A curry night is appealing.

1stMrsF · 08/08/2019 19:07

We have a ploughman's planned for the weekend. As long as I can swerve the bread it works OK for Thai woe- cheese, ham, pate, pickled veg and salad did the trick for me last time we had it. It does rather go well with real ale though...

Watching cricket today, so needed a picnic - my DTDs this morning and then we all went to watch a ladies T20 supporting our county team.

B - creamy coffee
L - boiled eggs. Avocado, smoked salmon and mayonnaise
D - Salmon fillet with roasted med veg and ts broccoli

Did get tempted into a G&T this evening. Can you see what my weakness is?!
