Morning all

here's the spreadsheet, as per

Only two weeks to go, but still time to lose a couple more pesky pounds Smile

But this won't happy if custard slices and ice-cream are involved ...

Morning Brew despite not egg fasting, I managed 2 eggs for lunch and 3 for dinner yesterday.

My period has arrived with a vengeance so I’m hoping the bloat will at least start to deflate and the pms from hell will do one. They’ve been increasingly bad recently, I don’t know how the hell I’m going to cope when peri hits. I’m going to need all the drugs, or at very least tranquillising for the whole process - wake me up when it’s over. And I realise that sounds very whiny from somebody who hasn’t a clue of the real horrors of it yet, so apologies Flowers.

Can’t actually remember wtf I’m doing food wise now? Hmm But I think it involves fat and eggs and not eating between eating. And obviously WATER WATER WATER!!
Grin

youwana - I love those dress pics. You are def noticeably looking more top-heavy (boobage) now compared to your middle area which has shrunk in loads. Hopefully the top will shrink in enough too at some point, to avoid any loss of balance Grin Flowers

Morning all
Much better day for me yesterday food wise, however I am starting to go off celaric which has been my staple, so will give it a miss for a bit.
I’m out for lunch today, but it’s a really nice gastro pub so should be able to stay on plan, will report back later.

B Greek yogurt, Tsp double cream, Tsp Linwoods, 1 raspberry
L will report back
D Chicken, FLGV, possibly - very small portion of Greek yogurt with tsp Marsacapone if craving a dessert

Almahart · 10/07/2019 09:14

Morning! Yesterday was v strict bc - smoked salmon, avocado and cucumber for bf, egg and chicken salad for lunch, fried buttery mushrooms and chicken for dinner

Yoga last night. A pound down this am

Am fasting this morning, off to a conference with a packet of rollitos in my bag just in case

BIWI · 10/07/2019 09:51

@Youwanapizzame fab pictures! (Sorry, I missed those yesterday)

@18pagesfrontandback you may be surprised when you reach peri/the menopause! I really found that low carbing helped deal with the hot flushes. I also took Boots Menolieve, which was a massive help. (I can't take HRT because my mum died from advanced breast cancer - despite the evangelists on the menopause board here, who insist there is little or no risk, there's still too much risk for me).

But thankfully I pretty much sailed through it. And it's wonderful not to have periods!

Youwanapizzame - great pictures, definite progress! KOKO :)

Youwanapizzame · 10/07/2019 16:07

Thanks guys!

Its funny you cant always see it in the mirror but a picture side by side like that is proof that something is happening!

we tried Celeriac Dauphinoise last night... (well similar as I added cheese in the middle!) Very nice!

BIWI · 10/07/2019 19:39

This recipe, for cauliflower 'bread' popped up on my Facebook timeline today:

here

I haven't got access to an oven right now, so can't try it - but wondered if anyone else would like to have a go?!

I have been seeing people talk about ubercamp. Please what does this mean?

NigellaAwesome · 10/07/2019 20:40

Biwi how is the kitchen extension going?

@anewdispensation if you look at the tabs on the spreadsheet there are instructions for Uber boot camp. It is basically very low carb to help you get things moving again if you are in a stall or have allowed carb creep to set in.

anewdispensation · 10/07/2019 22:42

Thanks @NigellaAwesome

Summery1 · 11/07/2019 01:21

Absolutely struggling to stay to plan at the mo. Simply no schedule.
B: 2 eggs with tomato courgette feta. Black pudding.
L/D: chicken Caesar no crouton.
Snack; later in evening, flapjack and chocolate. Angry

I'll do well not to gain this week. I've a lot of driving to do tomorrow - definitely a good breakfast and we'll see after that.

Doilooklikeatourist · 11/07/2019 07:03

Very headachey this morning , have gulped down 2 glasses of water , and having a coffee now to see if that helps

Doing ok this week , apart from making cheesecake yesterday ( new recipe , so I had to taste the filling - too sweet and a bit bland - hopefully that’s just me ! )

Tummy’s rumbling , so nice scrambled egg breakfast needed soon 😀

MrsBertBibby · 11/07/2019 07:36

Urgh woken up in the small hours by hideous heartburn. Throat is still burning. Knackered!

Scales are being stubborn, but I tried on a white shirt I bought years ago and immediately grew out of, and it fits!

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 11/07/2019 09:18

Off to Cambridge today for three days, then have two shows in Greenwich on Sunday so won't see the DC till Monday! Feeling very emotional. Sad

Cottage I'm staying in has tea and coffee making facilities and a microwave but no real cooking facilities so I'm taking some low-carb stuff with me for breakfasts. I've made some of the LC almond rolls and I'm going to pre-boil some eggs.

Notwatchingtvtoday · 11/07/2019 09:44

Morning all

At last the scales seem to be edging done, it’s just a 1/4 of a pound each time, but it’s in the right direction. MrsBertBibby I’m definitely slimmer, but scales seem to be having a time lag in what they show as well, it’s great that you can see from how your shirt fits.
I managaged a really nice lunch out yesterday and tried oven roasted broccoli last night which was delicious and I had to fight my dd for it 😀. Just cut up a broccoli head and tossed it in olive oil and sea salt and roasted it in oven on 180 for about 40 mins, thought I might have burnt it but it was actually fab.
I’ve finally got a clear day ahead, am going to use it to do some prep and planning. GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal good luck with the show and hope it is a success, I’m sure that the planning required to actually get out of the front door is really hard work, so good on you for preparing some LCHF food as well.

Also I was looking at double cream and Marsacapone carb counts, I’ve found double cream varies from 2.8 to 1.6 (organic m&s is lower than normal m&s) . Also Ocado Marsacapone is much cheaper than m&s , BUt Ocado is carb 3.8g, M&S is 2g both per 100gs, all of which are sugars. The sceptic in me would have thought it was just different supermarkets, but in case of the double cream they were both M&S . I now seem to spend a lot of time with my reading glasses on peering at packaging 😀. It does make me wonder what is sneakily added to our foods.
Today
B Greek yogurt and coffee with butter
L eggs and salad/ coleslaw homemade
D chicken, roasted green veg and coleslaw

BIWI · 11/07/2019 09:47

@GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal you could also cook up some low carb sausages, and take some tuna mayo?

@MrsBertBibby send them over to @MrsTerryPrachett - she knows what to do with misbehaving scales Grin

@Doilooklikeatourist hope you're feeling better soon - make sure you're getting enough sodium/salt - that might help you

@Summery1 what do you think is pushing you off track? You know it won't be helping you - it's just self-sabotage!

@NigellaAwesome all going well so far - building is on track. So far it's not been too intrusive, but today/tomorrow is when they have to move inside because we're having an opening made in the dining room half of the lounge as a new door into the kitchen. So it's not only going to get (a lot) dustier, but also we'll have less space available for any cooking facilities, so we'll have to get a bit more used to that! But I'm pleased about the work staying on track.

Went out yesterday and bought my new fridge and freezer. Having spent ages researching what I want, I was horrified to discover that the model of fridge that I want is being discontinued, and the new model has a feature that I really don't want. But as they come as a pair, it looked like I was going to be forced to buy the new model. Thankfully a very nice man at Curry's did a lot of research behind the scenes for me and managed to secure the existing model. And, even better, he hasn't put a delivery date on it, which means they'll hang on to it until I actually need it delivered. Getting the timing right of ordering things is 'interesting' - I don't want us to end up with even less space because we sit surrounded by boxes of kitchen appliances.

I'm getting used - sort of - to handing over large piles of cash, so was quite blasé in Curry's yesterday shelling out £1400 Shock. However, I've decided that other than the builders, I'm going to put everything on my credit card that yields airmiles, so there'll be an extra benefit there. (And pay it all off straight away, of course!)

Hi all

Just caught up with this weeks thread (should be out doing ‘jobs’)

@MrsBertBibby congrats on the shirt & under 12.5 both fab!! Not sure how it’s week9 either, some days have been S L O W but the weeks have flown! You definitely deserve a new work photo 😊

@StuntNun always good to ‘see you’ no scales is no bad thing! I’m a bit obsessed with mine but they’re such little shits that I celebrate the ‘losses’ and just assume it’s being a little shit when I STS Or gain 🤣

@1stMrsF NYC will be fab & if you intend on staying ‘on track’ it’s one of the better US places to go food wise. Plus SO. Much walking that’ll help

@Doilooklikeatourist - it’s hard not to agree with your DH!! Even not on BC I really only drink water (some coffee some alcohol but not juices or soda/fizzy/flavoured stuff) but it’s not the same when you’re drinking socially. Is your DH doing BC too or just supporting you? (Also sorry I’ve lost track of who has said they’re trying to cut down on alcohol for other reasons)

@18pagesfrontandback hi 😊. Whoever made the loaf of bread in your house... shooting is too good for them!!! I’d be murderous. Toast is bad enough and gets my ‘eviks’ But freshly baked bread NO WAY!!

Hope your PMS has abated I seem to be Peri my periods have been variable in heaviness ranging from barely there to grom a couple of days to two weeks and all over the place regarding when which I was expecting, but mind fog, anxiety (don’t normally get it at all but occasionally do now, no idea how people cope who have it more intensely and all the time) . And some other bits I didn’t realise were linked until I read a couple of MN threads! But it’s different for everyone and you might sail through like BIWI - I’m going to look at the Boots tablets she suggested.

Yes veggie no eggs is a challenge but one I just have to deal with as there’s nothing I can (or am willing to) change 🤷🏻‍♀️😢
Plod plod

@Almahart. 152lbs I can but dream! You’ll ditch the other few if you can KOKO

@Rshard how old is your DD? Has she travelled much?

@Rayna37. 8 3/4 stone - I’d kill for that! And truthfully I’d probably struggle to stick to the plan too but if you can focus and drop the last few lbs then it’ll be a load if your mind and you can be genuinely in mtve without feeling guilty. It’s not surprising you enjoy tracking your water on work days- most of us prefer s pretty personal graph & distraction to the monotony of work 😘😊💦💦💦

@ShagMeRiggins. It’s good that ‘Dry July’ seems to be helping you drop lbs, added incentives all help to stay on track!!

I hope you’re enjoying the 🎾 🎾 today & that you have fun (but not carbs) on Saturday.

I liked your ‘pound by pissy little pound’ comment too - it sounds a bit better than my ‘tent tiny fucking fraction of a lb’ 🤣

At least there are a few of us on the ‘pound by pushy little lb track’ watching the lucky ‘4/5:6lb’ers fly on past!’ It IS LOVELY to hear the successes - the more the better, but it’s natural to feel a bit envious too!

@Notwatchingtvtoday. Congrats on the looser trousers! Trousers lie less frequently than sodding scales!

Roasted broccoli is indeed very good!! Even when it ‘looks’ like you’ve burnt it! I throw other veg in too sometimes there’s not much I don’t like oven baked/roasted!!

I have a few staples on BC which I tend to be ‘over’ by the time BC is finished This time I’ve tried really hard not to overdo any one thing.

@GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal blimey they’re going to have to make you a New costume at this rate! You’re definitely NOT going to be ‘the fat maid’ sorry to hear you’ll miss the kids so much but try to focus on yourself and maintaining. Sense of self which isn’t easy when you have kids but SO important for when they’re grown and off doing their own thing and before that when they’re teens who want to be with their friends rather than hanging at home with mum.

@VeryLittleOwl I’m looking forward to seeing your ‘after’ photos with your shorts I saw your beach photo in the other thread, it looks lovely, I’m very envious. I used to live 5 mins walk from the beach, but I’m land locked now 😕

@Summery1 sorry to hear you’re struggling to stay on plan. It’s goid you can see what you’re doing that’s making it more difficult though. I find fruit is s ‘gateway’ problem for me - it sneakily opens the door to really BAD carbs! 🙄. You’re doing well thought two eek push could see you into the 10’s!!

Oh and ‘boast’ away getting to a weight you’ve nit seen in 25 years is amazing and definitely deserves some shouting about

IF I ever get there everyone will be hearing about it LOUD & CLEAR!!

Though you need to work on your ‘boasting’ As it really just seemed like statement of fact, not a boast! 🌷😊

@BIWI kitchen sounds fab!! Hope it goes smoothly and you can stop haemorrhaging cash sometime soon! I’m still trying to find cabinets (well doors really) that I like. The guy in Curry’s kept trying to upsell me to the model with the camera inside the fridge so you can see what’s in there, it might be fab for some people but it’s not for me! Nor the ice maker/water etc. I don’t like the taste - he wasn’t listening!

The Style&Beauty thing sounds fun, but it’s nit fir me at this time, but I hope you all enjoy it if it goes ahead!
Little update scales blipping into 107kg but settling on 108.2 No great shakes from starting if 112.3 but in the right direction so I just need to KOKO ( and hope the physio next week is some kind of miracle worker and I can start walking again because although it’s 89% diet 20% exercise it does help with toning and mostly with my attitude/bloods & general well being

Right, well I’ve used up more than my share of the Internet now so I’d better bugger off! 🌷💦🎉💕✅🥦🥦🥑🥦😘

BIWI · 11/07/2019 13:29

Yes @ChippingInLowCarbing - it was the water dispenser that I didn't want in my fridge! I'm not having an ice dispenser in the freezer (although I did originally covet one of those!*) because it takes up so much room from the inside, plus my architect advised against it - they are the first bit of the freezer to break down, apparently, and that can often happen very early on in the freezer's life, which isn't great.

I didn't want a water dispenser because that, too, takes up space/volume from the fridge!

*my solution to this (with our current freezer) has been to use the bottom draw solely for ice. I buy 2-3 bags of ice from the supermarket at any one time, and just keep the drawer full. I have to make the extra effort to open the freezer door, but I can just about cope with that!

Plus the freezer I am getting has a slimline ice-maker inside the door, with a nifty little device to tip the cubes out into a tray below.

If anyone wants a bit of kitchen porn, this is what I've bought

Got £100 knocked off the price as well!

prettybird · 11/07/2019 14:46

I love my LG American style fridge freezer (also grey graphite Wink) - and I love the water dispenser and ice maker (even if I don't like the cold water in winter).

I will admit that the ice selection button did break very early on Sad, so if we want ice cubes as opposed to crushed ice, we have to open the freezer door and delve into the ice cube "box" Hmm

Rshard · 11/07/2019 16:01

Not managed to post for a couple of days but have been reading.

chippinginlowcarbing, dd is 14 next week and done a fair amount of travelling including 8 weeks in Australia in my tummy. She’s also been on two swim camps abroad without us so pretty seasoned traveller - she’s super excited for NY!

At uni today, lunch was wraps and sandwiches so I are a bit of filling. Resisted the constant supply of cookies and cakes too.

Lovely to read about shirts and trousers now fitting folk, great NSV!

Glad the kitchen/extension is coming along well BIWI, your fridge and freezer are lovely!

Good luck for your upcoming shows greebol

Hope mrsbert and doilooklike that you’re both feeling better?

Almahart · 11/07/2019 16:20

Lovely long post chipping . BIWI Envy in a nice way at your new kitchen

Still being v strict. I think though that last time I did BC and got to this weight I had dropped a dress size. So I wonder if my body shape is just changing as I get older

I do feel much slimmer though and full of energy

BIWI · 11/07/2019 19:25

First photo is looking from the original kitchen door, second is looking back.

Where I'm standing to take the first photo will be our new downstairs bathroom.

But you can see we've pretty much doubled the length of the room!

Thanks @BIWI , @ChippingInLowCarbing and @Rshard I have very early dinner on a Wednesday, as I’m doing an evening class ( practical beekeeping ) which starts at 6-30 and finishes at 9 ( too early before , too late after )
Had a nice cheese omlette with lots of salted butter and felt much better 👍
Have succumbed to alcohol , a gin and slimline tonic , keeping off the wine as once I start I can’t stop
The kitchen revamp sounds like a big ( expensive ) job !
We’ve got our house on the market , and I quite fancy buying a do me up , though I’m starting to think a move in ready done would be better

MrsBertBibby · 11/07/2019 20:30

Ooh, another beekeeper!
