Morning all

here's the spreadsheet, as per

Only two weeks to go, but still time to lose a couple more pesky pounds Smile

But this won't happy if custard slices and ice-cream are involved ...

Hello, I have reappeared after many weeks!
Amazing results Greebols!! I have enjoyed catching up with threads and seeing how well everyone has done!
I gave up after 3 weeks because I have been in and out of hospital with my daughter and it became too stressful to be applying myself to anything else! I did lose half a stone in those 3 weeks and felt great, so proof for me that it is what I need to do.
Things have settled here now, so I am starting again. I have also taken up cycling in the eves, when my fb gets home I go out for a zoom around the lanes. started as a stress relief activity, but bum size has decreased so extra incentive!!!!
Very inspired by all your efforts - and looking forward to keeping up with the thread again for the final stretch.
Extra thanks tobiwi of course, all the info on the boot camp pages will help outside of official boot camp and I will be making use of it!!
Thanks all 🙂

DH not fb 😬

Youwanapizzame · 08/07/2019 12:00

A good loss here. I'm glad I'm back to it nearly 100% 1 more lb and I'll be in the 100's 😁😁😁

Gutted that there's only 2 weeks left. Will we have an inbetweeny thread to tide us on to the next bootcamp?

I took a new "dress" pic yesterday. Will upload tomorrow when I'm at work.

Who ever posted a recipe from the sugar free londoner thank you. Jade some "crackers" from there and they're lovely.

@summery1 was it you that read the Alan Carr book about drinking? Can you tell me which one? I need to moderate better.

B- none
L- I've sneaked a salad into soft play
D- lamb chops with baked aubergine and summat!

Youwanapizzame · 08/07/2019 12:01

@greebol that's brilliant!

Summery1 · 08/07/2019 12:10

Youwannapizzame I've read loads of quit lit. Including Alan Carr. I loved William Porter and Catherine Grey though.

Chillijamntuna · 08/07/2019 12:21

Gah after a week of LCing I haven’t lost (or gained anything!)
I’m feeling confused.
Should I drop the dairy going forward?

I am having my gallbladder removed on Thursday so I suppose very fatty things will have to be off the cards for a while anyway :(

I think I’m getting too many calories to the amount of exercise I’m able to do.

:(

prettybird · 08/07/2019 12:55

You've mentioned tat your clothes are feeling looser. One of the things we recommend (but most only realise this with hindsight and wish we'd done it earlier Blush) is taking measurements (waist, hips, under bust and over boobs as a minimum) as often sometimes the measurements reduce when the scales resolutely fail to move. Smile

Rshard · 08/07/2019 12:57

Wow greebol - that’s fabulous

Chillijamntuna · 08/07/2019 12:59

Thanks @prettybird
Just had lc salad for lunch:
bag of rocket lc dressing, fried mushrooms in butter, cucumber and avocado.

Chillijamntuna · 08/07/2019 13:16

My skin is also glowing because of the water so that's one good thing.

BIWI · 08/07/2019 13:22

@Chillijamntuna

Don't worry about calories for now - we don't count calories on Bootcamp! As you get nearer your target they may come into play, but for now, just focus on keeping the carbs low, the protein moderate and the fats high. And water by the gazillion gallons!

What are you eating on a typical day?

I'm worried that if you're concerned about calories that you're probably not eating enough and/or you're not eating enough fat!

Chillijamntuna · 08/07/2019 13:31

Thanks @BIWI

I'm wondering if it's water retention from my imminent period?

Today I have had ...

2x coffees with double cream in

b: 4 slices of salami and a ball of mozzarella

Lunch: Bag of rocket, 1x avocado, 5 fried mushroom s in butter, cucumber, homemade dressing (mayo, vinegar, grated parmesan, dijon mustard)

2 litres of water so far.

Im feeling very PMT fatigued too and wanting cake :(

BIWI · 08/07/2019 13:37

@Chillijamntuna if you're new to Bootcamp then you should be eating a proper breakfast, not just having coffee!

Also, it really doesn't look like you're eating that much. Are you trying to count calories as well?

If you're worried about water retention, then the solution to that is to drink more water. I know that sounds counter-intuitive, but it will help you.

If you're feeling tired, it could partly be carb flu - you need to make sure that you're getting sufficient sodium, magnesium and potassium. So cook with salt and add salt to your food (and for an immediate effect, try a hot drink made from Oxo or Bovril or Marmite). Salmon, avocado, spinach and full fat natural yogurt are all good for magnesium and potassium.

18pages I think the reason the egg fast can be so effective is that it really has minimal carbs. I put the following into mfp: 2 fried eggs with 2 rashers of bacon (in olive oil) , 2 boiled eggs with butter, Omlette with cheese and double cream. Came in at just under 1000 calories and 7g carbs.

I guess if you add salad, veg etc it would feel healthier but would add 20/30g carb and might not achieve the same...

1stMrsF · 08/07/2019 13:56

Amazing losses and other victories this week. Particularly @GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal!

Ubercamp is going well so far...
B - smoked salmon and avocado
Creamy coffee mid morning
L - Tuna Mayo with little gem and cucumber
D - will be Chicken thighs with spinach and broccoli
WATER WATER WATER 💦

Chillijamntuna · 08/07/2019 14:18

Thanks @BIWI the food I wrote didn’t include my dinner tonight which will be roast chicken with a mountain of green vegetables and cheese sauce.

I’ll trymarmite thank you :)

StuntNun · 08/07/2019 14:28

Is it literally just eat eggs/cheese/butter? I noticed you mentioned the flaxseed so is that just for ‘emergencies’? And what about cream?

18pages the egg fast is really just eggs, fat and lots of water. The cheese is only there to make it doable. No cream I'm afraid, although bulletproof coffee is allowed within your fat limit (one ounce per egg). The flaxseed is just for emergencies, you'll know yourself whether constipation is likely to be an issue for you. One reason the egg fast is effective is that it restricts calories due to the satiating effect of the eggs. I couldn't eat more than about 1500 calories per day when I did. The three day Ubercamp part of Bootcamp produces a similar effect, as does Atkins' fat fast. In my opinion the egg fast is far too low in protein and it would be better to include a small amount of meat or fish into each day. The egg fast is a useful tool if you need to shed a few pounds fast or break a stall. It works for me because I really like eggs but there are plenty of other tweaks that have the same effect.

Summery1 · 08/07/2019 15:09

I went for a run and weighed again. Down 2lbs. So I'm updating the spreadsheet. I weighed that also during the week. 11st 3 now.
I'm aiming for 11st by the end of camp (started at 11st 13).

Summery1 · 08/07/2019 15:11

I'm boasting now, sorry. I haven't been this weight in 25 years. It is amazing.

prettybird · 08/07/2019 15:14

The egg fast works for me as I like eggs Grin 5 days is no problem for me Wink

I like it because a) it is satiating and b) even note importantly it takes away any element of choice. I have a tendency to snack out of habit, not hunger Blush

Rshard · 08/07/2019 15:34

Loved your second post summery! Well done, that’s a huge achievement!

18pagesfrontandback · 08/07/2019 15:34

Don’t apologise Summery! That’s bloody awesome news!
And I think hearing things like ‘I haven’t been this weight in 25 years’ is hugely motivating for all of us. We all want that feeling. Make no mistake, when I hit my goal posts along the way I’ll BE BLOODY SHOUTING ABOUT IT Wink Grin

18pagesfrontandback · 08/07/2019 15:42

Thanks for all the eggsplanations campers Wink

I just wasn’t sure if you could eat anything else or not. So that’s good to know. I do love eggs, if anything I’d be worried about being put off them because they’re such a staple! But I’m all for a bit of experimenting and do like a good tweak to shake things up. I agree that the simplicity and lack of choice makes it very appealing because for 3/5 days there’s no thinking.

Not sure this is the right week timing wise, but think I might have a go at it next week then. Not ever actually tried bulletproof so that’ll be a new one on me too, and reckon with a bit of psyching up I could cope on one coffee a day for a few days.

Presumably we can still drink black tea? Redbush etc?

One last question as if - can we have mayo?

BIWI · 08/07/2019 18:01

Earlier in the thread we were talking about a style/beauty/colour meet up.

There may be something that we can arrange, but

a) I can't talk about it on the thread
and
b) it wouldn't be free
but
c) it would be fabulous!

If this is something you'd like to do, send me a PM and we can talk about this off board.

Wow Greebo!!!

I’ve almost considered an egg fast but I think it will put me off them for life. I do like uber camp though, I’ve done that before with success.

My weekend has I think slightly messed up my ketosis, I was really hungry and lunch and had a lovely salad with avocado, cucumber, rocket and chicken

Dinner will be steak and roasted stem broccoli, possibly some celeriac too.

Fasting to start tomorrow
