Great, thank you. Looking forward to starting. I did low carb a few years ago and after the first 3-5days when ketosis kicked in felt amazing, flatter stomach, more energy and a lot happier. Just hope I can stick it out. Good luck everyone.

Please can I be added if it’s not too late? I’ve done the last two and felt bloody great on them but for reasons unknown to anyone I have completely fallen down the carb rabbit hole and I feel fat and ashamed ☹️😳 Am fully on board and ready to feel in control again 👊

I've been dropping carbs gradually as last time I tried cold turkey I got really bad carb flu!

All set now though - chicken thighs cooked for pack lunches, eggs in for breakfasts and have had very little high carb food after the past two day.

Still, enjoying tonight then on it tomorrow. I’ve bought lots of low carb veg, eggs, salmon fillets, pork belly and chicken.

Thing is you probably eat more calories to begin with but after a while you feel a lot less hungry so you naturally consume fewer calories without having to count them. I can go from 7pm to 11am the following day not feeling the slightest bit hungry.

No problem! I only know because I input everything into mfp to see carbs but then you also see calories. You'll be amazed at how few you eat some days and feel fine because your blood sugar is stabilized really well. That's my experience anyway.

Yes it absolutely does work without counting calories.

However, that doesn't mean you can pile your plate high! You need to eat sensible portion sizes.

As you get nearer your target, though, you will find that calories come more into play, and so you may have to start keeping an eye on them then.

But rest assured - a calorie is not a calorie is not a calorie.

A calorie of fat will have no impact on your insulin production, whereas a calorie of carbohydrate will. And it's the insulin that leads your body to lay down fat.
