OK - planning for next week - here are some things to think about:
First, do some meal planning. OK it might be dull having to do this, but it's really important when you're low carbing to make sure that you have everything in place, so that you don't revert to high carb options.
Think through where you will be over the next week, and therefore what meals you're going to need to cook and what foods you're going to need to have at home.
If you know that you're going to be on the go from work, consider very carefully what your options are. M&S Food are the best option - you can buy individual portions of cheese, sliced cooked meats, and some salads without any pasta/rice/noodles/potatoes.
Get rid of any high carb foods that you know are likely to tempt you! If the temptation isn't there, then you won't be able to give in.
Make sure that you've also planned in some lovely, indulgent foods, so that you are kept satisfied. These might not be meals that you'll eat all the time, but they'll be things that help you in the first few days to get settled into low carb eating. So things like steak in a creamy mushroom sauce, or cauliflower in a creamy cheese sauce (no flour needed in the sauce!).
Read up the rules I've posted, and also make sure you know what veg you're allowed to eat - basically you will need to exclude all potatoes, sweet potatoes, beetroot, sweet corn and (probably) carrots for the foreseeable future. Along with peas, lentils and other pulses/legumes.
Take your measurements. While we generally weigh each week, your measurements can be a much more accurate way of monitoring weight loss.
Or, find an item of clothing that's a size too small/just a bit too tight, and then try that on each week.
Get yourself a journal, or find an online version and write down every day what you've eaten and drunk. Being accountable this way is really useful.
Do some reading about low carbing, so that you understand the science behind it. You're likely to come across people who are very dismissive about it, and who will be shocked about the amount of fat you'll be eating, so it's important that you know why we're high fat as well as low carb. It's very counter intuitive, given everything that we've been told to do over the last 30-40 years, so you need to be convinced yourself that this is the right way to eat!
