Good morning all, for the final Monday of this Bootcamp.

Here's the spreadsheet for its last outing!

I hope very much that the last ten weeks have been successful for everyone - whether that's on the scales, seeing your clothes fit better, better health and general enjoyment of your food!

I'll keep this chat thread going, and when it's full, will start another one until we start the next Bootcamp, which will start in mid-October.

cherries the comments from the Dr are very unfair and I'm not surprised they annoyed you.

Interesting about the iodine deficiency biwi, my mum has a underactive thyroid. I've never even looked at the symptoms to be honest but just had a quick google and a lot of them fit me (but the same can be said for most things I google!), I wonder if it's worth a trip to the dr.

Been weighing daily since I got my scales and the number has been going down but this morning was up by 2lbs. I know that daily fluctuations are usual from reading these threads but is 2lbs usual?

I’m not stressing at all but didn’t really think the fluctuations would be that much, obviously if it’s back down the 2 tomorrow I’ll be happy!

BIWI · 31/07/2018 16:12

yes, you can go up by that much easily!

Laska5772 · 31/07/2018 16:27

Ah Snap Rshard.. ( commiserates)

Rshard · 31/07/2018 17:10

Thanks BIWI and laska, I’ll just koko.

ItsalmostSummer · 31/07/2018 17:32

Thanks BIWI. I do take electrolytes daily. It has helped most of the way through this BC but maybe the ligtheadedness is something else. I’m not worried and I still like this WOE.

Rayna37 · 31/07/2018 19:18

Last day of the month, it's been horrendous diet-wise! Holidays, loads of booze and a thorough dose of the fuck-it's have left me with a gain in monthly average weight for the first time this year. Two months of maternity leave left, I'm going to get serious in August. I want at least another half a stone off before I buy any new jeans or work clothes.

I'm watching What the Health on netflix. It's a bit scary. How can there be such divided opinions about carbs and fat.

ilovecherries · 31/07/2018 21:00

Way to frighten people off all food!

Is it like this, ilovecherries? Randomly saw this the other day when I was trying to get inspired by looking at people's before and after 30 day pictures.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 01/08/2018 07:23

ilove, how frustrating and what a dismissive response from your GP.

I’ve not experienced any skin issues on this WOE (prone to eczema and dry skin) so don’t have much advice to offer. Skin issues can be linked to gut bacteria - a course in probiotics and eating more prebiotics may help?

StuntNun · 01/08/2018 07:47

Cherries What the Health has been widely debunked. Have a watch of .*

ilovecherries · 01/08/2018 08:16

Yes, after I’d been watching it for 20 mins, I realised it was made by and for a bunch of flat earthers. What I was finding scary though is how compelling the doctors were, and how easy it would be for anyone to meet a doctor like that, for any issue really, and for your treatment and care to be dependent on them - they weren’t your young locum GP with an axe to grind, these for the most part we’re the type of doctors you’d meet at consultant level.

Rshard · 01/08/2018 08:18

Great incentive rayna

StuntNun · 01/08/2018 09:10

Sorry that was the wrong link - it should be

Rayna37 · 01/08/2018 10:39

Started the day well with low carb porridge (ground almonds, with smaller quantities of ground flax seeds, chia, mixed seeds, oat bran, almond butter and coconut oil made with milk) and planned avocado and cheese omelette for lunch. Just snacked on a boiled egg and remembered we have celery salt. So far so good. Then, realised the first bloody day of "right I'm getting serious" finishes with a 5 mile trail race called the Pie and Peas. Which finishes with...you guessed it. Face palm.

prettybird · 01/08/2018 11:01

The oat bran isn't low carb either Confused although as carbs go, it's one of the better ones Wink

Rayna37 · 01/08/2018 11:23

prettybird I know, it's snuck back in and I need to cut it back out. I do one for me usually without oat bran, but with Psyllium husk, and one for the baby without that but with some real oats and oat bran in the mix and no whole seeds like pumpkin. Sometimes I forget which spoonful is meant for which bowl!

prettybird · 01/08/2018 11:44

Actually came on here to log my 1/2 lb up this week to 11st 5.25lb Hmm

My own fault as I made tablet at the weekend and sampled too much and have been a bit remiss with my water. Blush

In sort of good news, I went out for a run for the first time yesterday and was surprisingly fast (c1.5 miles in 14min 13s - usually when I start again, it takes at least 17 minutes Shock - so the Jillian Daniels DVDs I've been doing must be helping Wink). The run was in tribute to my old boss whose funeral I'm going to on Friday Sadwho got me into running seriously.

I'll be seeing a lot of old work colleagues some of whom I've not seen in 30 years Shock (Vanity alert Blush) The black & white dress I'll be wearing was snug when I wore it a few weeks ago but I tried it on yesterday and I could do the side zip up myself, rather than getting dh to force pull it up. Smile

3stonedown · 01/08/2018 20:35

prettybird sorry about the funeral but happy for you about the dress.

In case people are still wondering about how the scales can change over night, yesterday morning I was 5lbs up! This morning I am 4lb down from that. They really can go a bit crazy

colouringinagain · 01/08/2018 21:30

Anyone on this woe also suffer with bad pms?

Rshard · 01/08/2018 21:33

Hope the funeral goes ok prettybird, but yay about the dress.

It was me 3stone, 2 up yesterday but 1.5 down today,

qumquat · 02/08/2018 07:04

@twoo that's my low carb bible. I love it!

@colouringinagain I don't get pms particularly. Have you found it has got worse on this woe?

I am knee deep in emotional eating. Have had 4 bowls of corn flakes so far this morning. Was planning a trip to the shop to buy mountains of binge food but hoping by posting on here I'll stop myself! I've paid for a day's childcare for dd so I can go into school to get some work done, so I really want to get that done not waste the day on a binge. Just so sick and tired.

Rshard · 02/08/2018 07:34

No pms here either colouring, not what dh thinks though.

Oh no qumquat! Draw a line under the cornflakes and definitely don’t go to the shop! Might your planned day at work help? Channel your emotions in a constructive way? You’ve def done the right thing posting on here.

Still finding daily weighing and fluctuations interesting.
