Good morning all, for the final Monday of this Bootcamp.

Here's the spreadsheet for its last outing!

I hope very much that the last ten weeks have been successful for everyone - whether that's on the scales, seeing your clothes fit better, better health and general enjoyment of your food!

I'll keep this chat thread going, and when it's full, will start another one until we start the next Bootcamp, which will start in mid-October.

Meant to mention another NSV: my waist measurement is now less than half my height Smile (which is apparently safer): 32" versus a height of 5'5.5" Grin

That's a reduction in 6" since I started measuring last August and I think at least 10" (maybe 12" - going by the belt that I had at the time which was a proxy measurement) from when I started at the end of May. I'd lost about 1.5stone by the August (I'll need to check that).

No wonder my old clothes are fitting me better Wink

Had one of our favourite (and easy) meals last night: the duck breast from Lidl, which I'd scored and rubbed with ras-al-hanout, served with runner beans from the garden that had been microwaved in butter.

StuntNun · 19/08/2018 11:17

I'm on the road today, stopped at Starbucks and enjoying scrambled eggs with spinach and cherry tomatoes. 3.3% carbs which isn't at all bad for eating out. The times are definitely changing!

BIWI · 19/08/2018 11:20

Hurrah! I try and avoid places like Starbucks simply because they always just seem to be Carb Central!

I got to fully enjoy the chilli and cheese festival yesterday thanks to the WOE Grin a couple of lbs gain for me the last couple of days, although I've stayed on track with eating so guess AF is due soon

ilovecherries · 19/08/2018 20:08

This morning. 10stone 13 lbs 12 ounces. GrinGrinGrin. I’m sure that won’t stick, it can take weeks for me to truly settle at a new weight, plus I’m on holiday almost non stop for the next 6 weeks. While I stay LCHF through all high days and holidays, realistically I can’t micro manage every ingredient in every meal. But Grin.

ilovecherries · 19/08/2018 20:10

That’s 76 lbs. nearly five and a half stone. And 4 ounces. Grin

ilovecherries · 19/08/2018 20:11

6 lbs to go!

sheldonesque · 19/08/2018 20:31

Huge congratulations cherries

I have to lose what you have lost and I am in awe.

I was doing so well but I fell off the wagon this weekend. Stress levels went nuclear and I succumbed to bread and chocolate. I'm so so cross at myself. Sad I am such an idiot.

Back on the koko bus tomorrow.

BIWI · 19/08/2018 21:33

That's fantastic @ilovecherries! Grin Star Gin

BIWI · 19/08/2018 21:34

Those 4 ounces are obviously the killer ones Grin

BIWI · 19/08/2018 21:35

@sheldonesque Sorry to hear about stress levels set to nuclear. But you have to identify the triggers for you, so that you don't do that again!

sheldonesque · 19/08/2018 22:15

I know biwi

I've been good with the triggers for my first bootcamp

A spectacular failure from work to protect me from ongoing harassment (positively enabling it) broke me this week.

It isn't an excuse. It is a massive failure on my part to not rise above it this time as I've managed to cope just for years.

sheldonesque · 19/08/2018 22:22

I know there is no excuse. Sad I know it sounds like one. I didn't even want it. Just feeding the fat invisibility cloak to disappear out of it.

I know better than that Sad

Waswittyonce · 19/08/2018 22:43

That's fab Cherries, well done!
I've been a total carby twat this weekend. I have no idea why really, I've been really good since I started back in May and was pretty well controlled on holiday recently, but we had the grandchildren to stay and my will power just vanished. It started with a big Mac and chips on Thursday night (which I tried to mitigate with spring water rather than coke) then the following day, sausage rolls and crisps (I did refuse ice cream), then at a barbecue on Saturday, a slice of Nigella's Nutella cheesecake, then a bacon roll for breakfast this morning and southern fried chicken and chips for lunch. Ffs!
Definitely climbing back on the wagon tomorrow, just hope the damage isn't too great.
Really sorry to hear you're having such a bad time @sheldonesque, hope things get better for you very soonThanksThanks

StuntNun · 20/08/2018 06:43

You're a superstar Cherries.

Get straight back on track Sheldon maybe plan your favourite low carb foods for the next couple of days. You've got this.

Wow Witty you didn't just fall off the wagon, you dragged it into the woods and set fire to it! Wink Any chance your period is due or some other reason for carb cravings? If not then let's try and identify what led to a sequence of poor food choices. Is there anything you could have done after that first Big Mac to get straight back on track? Perhaps you're an abstainer rather than a moderator?

boldlygoingsomewhere · 20/08/2018 06:54

Great NSV, prettybird and well done with your weight loss ilovecherries!

Had an awful upset stomach yesterday. Was our for the day on Saturday and wondering if the food at the venue was responsible. I tried to keep low-carb and has meatballs in tomato sauce with closeslaw rather than rice. Barely ate anything yesterday...

Rayna37 · 20/08/2018 08:14

Whoop for Cherries!

I've been pretty lax understatement lately so weighing in at 125lbs today, 5lbs to goal. I am going to go FULL BOOTCAMP for the next 5 days and maybe if I can, keep my motivation going until my "big" 15k Trail race on 1st Sep. I know that doesn't sound much but I've really just been maintaining with constant "cheating" on various scales about every other day so this should help to get my head in it.

In running news, I did a 5k race last Weds under 25 mins and within a minute of my 2014 PB. On Saturday I did a hilly trail 10k and while I was rubbish on the hills and found it a slog, I was only just over a minute slower than my previous best there (also 2014) and much better than my worst, so doing ok.

Rshard · 20/08/2018 10:25

Great NSV prettybird and SV cherries!!

I’m another one who’s been largely maintaining with the odd cheat. I think it’s the lack of my usual routine with it being the school holidays and having days off work. I’m even missing the routine of DD’s swim training. We’re off on holiday in 9 days so I want to knuckle down from now until then. We’re going to Spain so this woe should be fairly easy to do, lots of meat, fish, salad and oily dressings. Just need to avoid the cava!

bobow · 20/08/2018 11:23

I've had a 2lb gain this week. I'm a bit gutted as although I've been away I've been pretty good. Greek yogurt for breakfast and salads for lunch and dinner. Only had 2 mini bottles of prossecco during the week and a square or 2 of 85% chocolate each day. Not sure I got enough fat and certainly didn't drink enough water. I'm putting the gain down to not enough water, PMT and the stress of spending a week with the inlaws! The one good thing is that MIL has totally given up on cooking (or buying in any food for us) so it was easy to avoid carbs. Going to drink tons of water this week!
Ilovecherries - you are a true inspiration, I've lost a third of what you have and reading your posts gives the the belief that I can lose the rest.

banano · 20/08/2018 12:15

ilovecherries congratulations! As someone with a lot of weight (9 stone in total) to lose, you really do inspire me that it can be done!

bobow don't worry about the gain, although I realise it is so frustrating. I'll post a picture of my weight loss chart for the last 3 months later and you'll see that it goes up and down all the time, but somehow I've managed to almost lose 2 stone!

I've tried every diet going and there are two things that are different about this one: a) your weight bobs up and down more, but the overall movement is downwards; and b) its so much easier to stick at this one as stable blood sugar means no more cravings.

sheldonesque · 20/08/2018 12:36

A 2lb rise today which I deserve.

I've shopped and prepped and am all set.

I'm dreading work but foodwise I can only eat what I take in with me so that at least is ok.

Thank you for the advice - I appreciate it. Flowers

Waswittyonce · 20/08/2018 13:46

I know @StuntNun Blush I have no excuses at all, can't blame TOTM as am past all that. We were rushing around trying to fit in work and elderly parents as well as grandchildren, and I simply wasn't well enough prepared. I seem to be having a stall at the moment too, and I just ran out of enthusiasm/energy for the whole flipping thing.
Anyway I am back on the wagon again today and luckily I have been given lots of lovely fresh veg (good timing!) I'm feeling a bit more positive too, so I think I'm going to be fine Smile
Am toying with the idea of a water fast at some point as well, any experience or tips/warnings anyone?

Waswittyonce · 20/08/2018 13:47

Thank you @sheldonesque SmileSmileSmile

BIWI · 20/08/2018 13:57

A water fast? WTAF is that?! Sounds awful Grin
