Morning all. Flowers

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for almost the last time

One final week, and then next week will the last official weigh-in of this Bootcamp.

Hope it's all going well, and that this final week can see a few more pesky pounds vanquished Grin

MrsBertBibby in general the lipid profile improves on this way of eating. Malcolm Kendrick's Great Cholesterol Con is a good read on the subject. It's a little dated now as it's 10 years old BUT in that 10 years nothing has come up to change what he wrote.

qumquat · 16/07/2018 13:39

I'm another lb down. I seem to have settled into a rhythm of 1lb a week which suits me fine. I kept falling off the wagon in the first half of bootcamp but I've been much better second half and people are starting to comment on how good I look which helps with the motivation! 9lb down overall since the start of bootcamp.

itchyknees · 16/07/2018 13:50

MrsBert what are you looking for? I haven’t even lost a millimetre off my knockers so I’m bravissimo all the way! I bought a dress from there at the start of bootcamp and I had to fight to get into it a bit but it was reduced and i tried it on again yesterday and it’s positively roomy!Grin

TerfsUp · 16/07/2018 14:17

Hello all

Week 10! We're almost there, fellow low-carbers.

I haven't lost much this bootcamp but I am pleased that I've been able to stick to this woe since mid-January. Yes, there have been some diversions toward the Land of Bread, but I've always been able to get back on track.

I still have another three stone to go to meet my goal but I'm not up against any particular deadline or major event and so am content to feel my clothes getting looser and the numbers on the scale going down, even if it happens more slowly than I would like.

Finallymorethananumber · 16/07/2018 15:03

Afternoon everyone

I wrote a post last week that vanished, curse of posting on my phone I think. Ah well mostly it was congratulating folks and saying I lost another 5 lb,so a stone and a pound in 4 weeks. My next weigh in is Wednesday.

My mum, who I have a meal with once a week, is desperately trying to come up with low carb meals but she picks carby veg (think sausage and 3 bean casserole - really low carb sausages but beans are a no no right?) of course I ate it was grateful for her effort (it was lovely) so this week I will be taking something to hers to cook. I will scour the recipe threads for something quick and easy.

I was interested to see on the itv lunchtime news a report that everyone should be eating full fat dairy. One up to us!

Is it madness to already be looking forward to the next bc (October?) so I can start with you all from the beginning?

Twoo · 16/07/2018 15:04

Thank you for the new thread BIWI.

Some great losses & achievements ladies, lovely to read!

I’m down .8lb ... 10st7.2lb

Start BC 148
Middle BC 150
WK 9 BC 147.2

Hope it continues. Fingers crossed 🤞

TerfsUp · 16/07/2018 15:08

Congrats, morethananumber. I, too, started low-carbing in the middle of a bootcamp and looked forward to starting with everyone else at the next one.

This is my - second? third? - bootcamp and I've finally settled into a system. I sometimes eat off-piste but it's all good because I know the next day that I will go back to this woe of eating.

qumquat · 16/07/2018 17:58

I hope to continue this woe forever. I'll definitely miss the support between bootcamps and look forward to the next one!

An NSV for me today is that I hadn't planned lunch ahead and there was nothing substantial I could eat at the school canteen. So I just had a salad with oily dressing. And I was fine until an early tea at 5! I am normally dying of hunger by 10am on work days and have to snack to get through the day. I'm hoping this is the start of being able to cope better if food isn't available. (Having said that I'll continue to take in leftovers for lunch whenever possible as I doubt If have lasted till 6 which is when I normally finish work.)

borowren · 16/07/2018 18:04

3lbs on, which is deserved as I had carbs everyday last week. No big pig outs, but back to my old way of eating. Was triggered by a buffet lunch with nothing suitable to eat and just snowballed.
Back on it today, hoping the 3lbs comes off again as I'd love to finish bootcamp on a stone loss.

ItsalmostSummer · 16/07/2018 19:37

I have lost 2.6 pounds this week and feel pretty good about that. My loss is slow but i am seeing how I wasn’t eating enough at mealtimes and was still hungry or not satisfied anyway. I am enjoying it much more and still doing the low carb way and not cheating at all. I see this as a long term plan and don’t miss much. So long as I have some thing to eat when I am hungry I don’t go off track. I am hoping this will keep going. I feel much happier in my clothes now and overall enjoying summer because I fit my clothes. Looking forward to continued changes around this.
Also thanks for everyone’s updates I enjoy following your journeys.

Goodasgoldilox · 16/07/2018 21:29

Went up by 2lb last week and they have stayed this week. I understand that this happens (thanks to everyone who has explained their experience) but it does feel bad.
Oh well - onwards and downwards I hope!

m0therofdragons · 17/07/2018 02:00

Had a good day food wise and drank lots of water. I also was promoted at work which I'm so excited about but unable to tell anyone as there's a couple of team members who may not be overly happy I've stepped over them, so I'm sharing my news here!

I feel very in control of life and my dc are trying new foods and enjoying them. Feeling positive despite no loss this week.

sheldonesque · 17/07/2018 03:31

Another 1lb for me.

Happy enough. Would love a dramatic loss but steady and slow will do. Smile

Flowers for all

ajandjjmum · 17/07/2018 07:11

Congrats m0therofdragons - great news!

Hope everyone has a good week (unlike me, currently trying to shed the three pounds that appeared after a Pimms and treats day at the weekend).

What's great about this woe, is that I can normally attribute any increase to what I've had - so it's manageable in some odd way. All my 'events' have happened now, so no more excuses!

boldlygoingsomewhere · 17/07/2018 07:21

I’ve been reading Primal Fat Burner and that strongly advocates a low carb diet. It mentions that eating carbs knocks you out of fat burning for about 3 days after the event. It was a bit eye-opening really - highlighted for me that my progress will be very slow if I have too many ‘events’.

MrsBertBibby · 17/07/2018 08:08

Well done Mother!

boldlygoingsomewhere · 17/07/2018 08:31

Well done, Mother - great news!

Thing101 · 17/07/2018 14:32

Hello! Congrats to everyone for sticking it out - particularly those who are having strange no losses/stay the same. I've really slowed down but I know why and I also feel like it makes it more real if that makes sense. I'm seeing a number on the scales that I haven't seen for at least 8 years so it's sometimes hard to believe. I've always know low carb is the way for me, but times when I've tried to go back on it I haven't organised myself well and so it hasn't worked.

Going into the recipe threads at least once a week is a big help to me, to remember to cook something exciting and different from my usual 3 or 4 meals. Like Mother said, it's had a good impact on my kids too as I'm making more interesting meals from scratch and they are on board (well two of them are anyway!).

Trying to have a strict last week and then will need a thorough exit strategy for LABC (life after bootcamp).

Rshard · 17/07/2018 14:59

The threads carry on after boot camp ends thing, so your exit strategy is sorted! People still log their food, weigh ins and nsv’s, it’s a long stretch between now and October!

prettybird · 17/07/2018 15:13

We also sometimes do "challenges" in the interregnum too Thing101 - last year a few of us gave ourselves objectives for September. It helped keep me relatively focussed Smile

Brilliant news about your promotion m0ther - but even better news, that you're feeling good in yourself. Flowers
