Morning all!

I would normally drop a link to the spreadsheet here, but for some reason I've had to request access to it Confused

So until someone else - or @AthelstaneTheUnready - can sort this, I'm afraid I'll just have to start the thread without the link.

I have finally caught up on the back end of last weeks thread and this one.

Prettybird love the photo, you look slimmer, happier and younger, just rewards for all your hard work.

Timeihadanamechange so nice to see the bunnies all happy and harmonious.

MrsBert when you're having a crap week is definitely the wrong time to leave bc, I left last year because someone was really unpleasant to me off thread, instead of turning to my bc buddies for support I decided I was done and slunk off into a carby corner. The result was no support from likeminded people and 17lbs of the weight I'd lost went straight back on.

FuriousFifties · 19/06/2018 16:35

MrsBert Flowers
BIWI Flowers

I bloody love BC threads, I'm sometimes rubbish at keeping on the straight and narrow and I'm definitely rubbish at posting so I'll just chuck armfuls of Flowers around for anyone else who needs them.

Iamnotacerealkiller · 19/06/2018 16:49

@Mimosa1

Only going to exotic norfolk myself. no flying for a while with the baby.

im going the opposite direction and have bought a really flattering one piece. i do have a bikini i have worn for years but its a halterneck so getting tired or sore neck. the alternative is a structured bra top as i have a big chest and need support but imo they dont look good in a two piece.

Rshard · 19/06/2018 17:02

Hope you decide to stay mrsbert

It’s been said already but I’ve only ever found support, guidance and motivation on these threads. They’ve made a big difference to my health and happiness.

Posted prematurely - I'm delighted to report a 2lb weight loss and a visit to the gym. I feel guilty that it takes two people to get me on and off each piece of equipment but in turn the guilt makes me work a bit harder. I still find going to the gym very emotionally charged, I was a bit of a gym bitch pre spinal cord injury and had lots of friends who were/are members, the only difference is that now they look but pretend they haven't seen me or suddenly develop a super interesting finger nail instead of saying "hi seafour, when are you free for lunch, dinner and some banal chit chat".
Today I'm in such a bitchy mood that as I wheeled towards the main entrance and two of my former friends walked towards me with the all too familiar "fucking hell, I have to talk to the cripple" look on their faces that I just used my best resting bitch face and said " hi, I see the the gym still isn't working for you" and wheeled on by. My poor PA was walking behind me and had to watch their faces, she just shrugged her shoulders and smiled at them.
I then used my favourite method of clearing space in the steam room by sitting down and immediately starting a conversation about menstrual symptoms, it ensures the men leave immediately, making space for women to stretch out.
Do I think my HRT is pissing with my hormones, helped by this woe? Hell yes.

This is my view right now - chihuahua and ventilator tube Grin

bingefest · 19/06/2018 17:15

BIWI - don’t change - keep being strict with us - without you I wouldn’t have kept the faith and I wouldn’t be 8 pounds lighter than I was 5 weeks ago ( and feeling focussed , energetic etc. ) Its good that people are acknowledging that this WOE is infinitely superior to low-cal , even if the scales are currently not moving. Just stick with it and enjoy all the non-scale benefits and then just when you are not expecting it the Whoosh fairy will visit. I agree with an upstream poster who says she’s not seeing as many veg posted as in previous boot-camps . These days most of my plate is covered in FLGV And salad ( I always have both - I’m a saladovegaholic ) and the protein element is quite modest . Stunt Nun knows the details but protein can get converted to glucose when there is too much of it around . For those who are struggling with losing it might be worth considering ?

ilovecherries · 19/06/2018 17:20

I’m still feeling really yucky. Have had an inadvertent fast day. Surely one small little re feed meal couldn’t have done this. Suppose I could just be sickly in an unrelated way, but I don’t have any other signs of being unwell. Just this gurgly gut, nausea and no appetite. Stopped the toilet trips but I suspect only because my gut is empty now.

Seafour · 19/06/2018 17:31

BIWI I really appreciate your dedication to us campers and your use of the stick is spot on, you must have the patience of a saint. A lesser mortal than you would take the big stick and ram it right up the constipated arse of some of us at times and yes I an recalling my own self sabotage when I drank twice my own blood volume in all manner of alcohol at a wedding Grin

Thanks ilovecherries sorry your carby treat turned into a bit of a shitfest, I hope my hero is feeling awesome again soon

BIWI · 19/06/2018 17:45

I'm sorry to hear that your carby meal made you feel so poorly @ilovecherries Sad

Hope you're feeling better soon.

qumquat · 19/06/2018 18:05

@biwi I really appreciate all that you do here. You give up so much of your time to help us. I have to admit I am terrified of you but that is my issue not yours as I am a delicate flower and don't respond well to big sticks! However that is my problem not yours and I am so grateful for all that you do for the bootcampers.

Lonesurvivor · 19/06/2018 18:13

seafour I'm annoyed on your behalf, you're better off without people like that in your life. Did you feel better for making the comment, much better than keeping it all in I'd say.
Don't feel bad about having to have people help you on the machines, I work with the public and helping people who genuinely need it and appreciative is very rewarding.
Well done on the 2lb lossSmile

Ilovecherries that's a nuisance that you're still feeling ill. Hopefully though it'll work and you'll kick start the weight loss again.

I'm new to this but I love how boot camp is ran. The 10 week idea 3 times a year is genius, it must keep it fresh.
I know we can only do this for ourselves but it wouldn't be possible for me without been able to learn why everything is the way it is, and seeing how other people make changes to make the plan work. I'd welcome a whack of the big stick if I needed it. I used to find it very unhelpful going to slimming clubs and gaining only for the leader to tell me it was ok. No actually it often wasn't ok and I needed help reigning it back in but was so glad to be off the hook and given excuses rather than been held accountable, I wouldn't open my mouth to ask.

If all these people moaning about BC found it so bad there was nothing stopping them doing their own version. Methinks, for some, it's easier to moan and blame the plan rather than accept responsibility.

qumquat · 19/06/2018 18:26

I have a question about waist measurements. I was intrigued by the 'half your height's thing but wasn't 100% sure where to measure. Is it the slimmest point under your ribs or is it the broadest bit under the belly button? Hope this makes sense!

3littlemonkeys82 · 19/06/2018 18:54

@qumquat I think it’s 1 inch above your belly button from the guidance I’ve read

qumquat · 19/06/2018 19:04

Thanks. That puts me in the healthy category which is good news!

Rayna37 · 19/06/2018 19:25

Rufflebelly would need to know the contents of the side salad and of the ratatouille to say if there are any issues with that menu! Could be perfect, could be riddled with sneaky carbs.

Had asparagus and scrambled eggs for breakfast and a big cheese and mushroom omelette for lunch and some strawberries and cream but off to a World Cup themed wine tasting and food thing now so give me strength or at least a thick skin for the big stick!

Gammeldragz · 19/06/2018 19:25

Finally caught up and now I can't remember all the people I wanted to reply to...
BIWI Farine said exactly what I was going to, so thank you and keep on keeping us on it Wink
seafour I'd love to be your gym buddy and do bitch face glares at all who dare offend you. Well done on the 2lb loss.
Who mentioned bikinis? I'm desperately looking for one but halterneck don't suit me (long body) and boobs are too big for something flimsy, however all the proper cup sized ones seem to look like underwear... I want high waist bottoms and a nicely supportive top. Too much to ask?
ilovecherries I got proper diarrhoea the last few times I went off plan, as well as a gurgly unhappy tummy for days. Hope it goes soon.

Foodwise...
11am - yogurt and strawberries
1:30pm - chorizo, camembert, cucumber, lettuce and 4 strips of red pepper, 8 olives, 2 mini mozzarella balls, 2 sundried tomatoes.
5:45pm - a whole pointed Cabbage shredded and fried in olive oil with 4 frankfurters (needed eating, I'm not keen but alternative was Chicken Kiev which are really carby) and a load of herbs and chili flakes. 2 spoons of mayo (must make my own, I have all the ingredients).

Gammeldragz · 19/06/2018 19:29

lonesurvivor yes I agree about many weight loss clubs being far too OK about cheating and gaining. I definitely need the fear of the stick and if I vanish from the threads it's usually because I'm being a carby twat...

oldbirdy · 19/06/2018 19:35

Right I am making a conscious effort to eat more veg. (Mistyped that as "vag" first which would have put a whole different spin on it!)

Today's meals:
Breakfast 2 poached eggs (had very little in the house, just done a shop. Would have had fried but DD wanted poached for her breakfast and couldn't be bothered to cook 2 ways).
Lunch: lots of kale cooked in Coconut milk with a squirt each of garlic and ginger puree and some chilli flakes, plus oomi noodles. The coconut milk was Aldi and only 1.3 carbs per 100 (so 2.6 per portion) iirc.
Dinner: probably Brussels sprouts fried in butter with bacon pieces.
Snacks: 2 sticks celery with blue cheese, one babybel, a teaspoon of marscapone.

More snacks than usual as the kids were having pizza for tea and I was waiting for dh to come home from work before making ours (he's just rang to say he's out with clients and to feed myself, grrr).

The kale in coconut milk is very nice, to my surprise!

Itchyknees · 19/06/2018 19:43

Hola! Inspired by I love cherries, and the rest of the thread, I’ve given myself a good talking to, and gone back to first principles. Loads of veg, meat, fat, water. I had drifted a bit. Looking forward to a whoooosh...

ilovecherries · 19/06/2018 19:59

I buy my bikini tops from Bravissimo, ragz then cheap high waisted bikini bottoms in black, navy red from M&S or M&Co. I accidentally ordered one with a halter neck the other day - boobs immediately headed north and neck was SO sore after 5 mins. I can really only wear ones with proper straps - so bloody expensive though, I do grudge it.

ItsalmostSummer · 19/06/2018 20:54

Can someone add my new weigh-in weight (for June 18) as 174.7, please? I can only access the spreadsheet to view it and not add anything. Thank you so much.

farine · 19/06/2018 21:02

@Seafour sorry your former friends turned out to be fair weather friends. Love that you are still basically a gym bunny at heart though!

@ilovecherries hope you feel better soon.

My run home this evening through the city centre was awful - the sun finally decided to come out so no shade, and the air quality was appalling! I had to keep stopping in tiny bits of shade to cool down and ended up in a Morrison's dripping wet trying to find water. Loved the freezer aisles I wandered down though! Still, I ran around 8 miles in the end which even if slow is still 8 miles. Interval training tomorrow night!

Dinner tonight griddles steak with oily salad. Very tasty.

Still trying to work out if mayo is dairy. I do think I eat a lot of mayo though so maybe switching to oil will help. No cheese for me today! Come on body shift some weight, I'm doing all I can!

Seafour · 19/06/2018 21:20

Lone yes I felt much better in the moment but basically I'm a nice person and would never deliberately hurt someone's feelings, I just can't help having razor sharp wit to compensate for most of my body not workingSmile

Gammeldragz you can be my gym buddy anytime, sadly no advice about bikini's as I haven't worn one since giving birth to 11lb13oz ds2

Oldbirdy I'm glad you corrected your vag to veg as I'm not sure BIWI has calculated the carb content of the former

Ilovecherries no way should you resent spending £££ on something to put your breasts in, our breasts are beautiful they deserve the very best.

Farine being abandoned by so called friends is so common after a life changing injury, it's shocking but I'm so glad that those people no longer benefit from knowing me. The worst ones are the people who greet you as if nothing's changed and come out with some crap about how busy they've been and they were meaning to phone me. It used to reduce me to tears every single time but I now just laugh and ask them if they've been busy for the last ten years, wankers the lot of them.
