Morning all!

I would normally drop a link to the spreadsheet here, but for some reason I've had to request access to it Confused

So until someone else - or @AthelstaneTheUnready - can sort this, I'm afraid I'll just have to start the thread without the link.

Sciencenut that’s great. Wish we could see pictures? Sorry but I’m really excited for you. You don’t have to post pictures but yay you must feel good about that.

BIWI · 22/06/2018 07:03

Wow! Some amazing results here. Really enjoying seeing the photos!

@Seafour sorry you're having problems with your DS Sad

Busy, busy at work at the moment, and then tomorrow I'm off to Le Manoir Aux Quat' Saisons for a day-long cookery course, bought by DH as a Christmas present. I, obviously, will have no control over my food - but I rather suspect I'm not going to care Grin

Then on Sunday, DH and I are using our other Christmas present, an 'experience', which is a picnic down the river in Oxford. Again, no idea what we're going to be provided with.

So Carby Twatdom no doubt here I come!

Le Manoir!!! Omg!!! How fabulous!

Rshard · 22/06/2018 07:13

Wow sciencenit, that’s a brilliant NSV

I enjoyed your food diary bingenut, made me chuckle!

Jealous much BIWI, have a fab time - what a lovely Christmas gift.

Gammeldragz · 22/06/2018 07:14

BIWI sounds like an exciting and indulgent weekend!

So my new low is still here, even down another 0.2lbs. I haven't bounced back up. Struggling to accept it as I'd stalled, regained, lost, regained since November and now I'm actually losing new weight.
I'm exactly 11.5 stone today. This will keep me on track over the weekend. Hopefully. However, I'm stuck at home writing an essay today and we're out of LC veg so no idea what I'm going to eat. I don't want to waste writing time by shopping! Bacon and eggs I suppose...

3stonedown · 22/06/2018 07:48

Sciencenut what an incredible achievement

Very jealous of BIWI, my boss goes to Le Manoir pretty much monthly and I'm still waiting for his "ohh lets treat 3stone too as she works so hard" Grin

A slight gain for me this morning but I am 2 days late so I expect it will be due to that

AromaticSpices · 22/06/2018 09:29

Hello everyone

I keep dipping in and out, struggling to stay on the wagon. Had a few days 'off' and couldn't kick myself up the bum enough to get back 'on' for about 2 weeks. But I have successfully done three days in a row now so hoping to stick to it again. The warmer weather (and it's associated problems, chub rub, flabby massive arms, 'floaty' dresses looking tight and gross, etc etc etc) means I am forcing myself back on the thread for accountability. Hope you're all ok, despite spreadsheet issues!!

Today's menu:

B: nothing (16:8)
L: egg mayo cucumber and a low carb sausage
D: haloumi and cashew curry I saw the Body Coach post this morning on instagram which looks amazing, with side spinach-and-garlic.

Seafour · 22/06/2018 09:50

Wow loving all these photos ladies, you all look amazing and it's so encouraging seeing the real life results. I'm another one who can't see any difference in myself when I look in the mirror. I will try and find a before picture and take a now one today. I'm struggling with oxygen saturation today, I'm at 63% so not safe to come off the ventilator for now.

Had a long chat to DS, it's so hard and I do have to remind myself sometimes that he has done so well to even live any kind of normal life, he was starved of oxygen at birth and not expected to survive but did. He had moderate learning difficulties and is severely dyslexic, went to a special school but progressed to a normal senior school (on reflection a mistake) and managed to get six gcse's and has gone on to become a professional chef. It's relationships he's no good with, girls are attracted to him because he's gorgeous to look at and he is very easily manipulated. He's also had some addiction issues probably linked to his profession. But he is a wonderful father to his three children and when not in disaster mode, a lovely kind, generous person.
DH keeps reminding me that he masks his problems well and was never expected to live an independent life so no surprise that he needs our support at times like this. I just need to work out how to get rid of the bunny boiler in his life - not easy as they have a baby together.

Justmuddlingalong · 22/06/2018 10:05

This thread is an absolute inspiration! Everyone is in the same boat and all rowing together. I'm now so close to a stone off, I can almost touch it.

Seafour · 22/06/2018 10:17

Here you go

Left is a few years ago at 12st9lbs and pre diagnosis of the paralysed diaphragm which explain the shitty skin colour and general look of a half dead person. The second is earlier this week at 10st 13lbs I was 55 two weeks ago.
The other photo is me right now - unfortunately waiting for an ambulance as I can no longer maintain my sats without support.

Good luck, Seafour! Hope they get you home again ASAP.

Sort of NSV here - I ate a lot of (won't specify as don't want to set anyone off) A Bad Thing yesterday, which someone had brought for my birthday earlier in the week. Had been planning to throw it, but didn't - big mistake. Rest is in the bin now. Anyhoo..... the NSV is that when I woke up this morning I smelled horrible, and I remembered that this is what happened last time. When I'm eating low carb I never smell bad / of BO, no matter how hot or sweaty I get.

I'm a fragrant little flower when I eat properly Grin.

Itchyknees · 22/06/2018 11:22

Best wishes SeaFour x

Itchyknees · 22/06/2018 11:24

Just had some of my cheesy bread with a squirt of tomato purée and Mozarella on top, grilled, with a dollop of carb free sweet chilli sauce.

Verdict : good.

Luki · 22/06/2018 12:03

Oh hope everything goes ok Seafour

I'm browsing pub menus prior to meeting my parents on Sunday and I've yet to find a single nice salad or something relatively low-carb. Wetherspoons have even got rid of their cesar salad and replaced it with a quinoa and rice salad. Angry I'm loathe to pay over the odds for a sandwich just to pick at the filling. Bah.

prettybird · 22/06/2018 12:11

Steak and ask for a side salad rather than the chips? Or a burger and salad and leave the bun (a naked burger Wink)

Nan0second · 22/06/2018 12:50

Hope things stabilise rapidly seafour.
Defo agree with steak or naked burger with salad. Yummy and easily low carb :)
I’m on a stall. On my period so it’s probably that but I’m also now down to a bmi of 22 so anticipating slower loss to target...

Gammeldragz · 22/06/2018 12:53

seafour good luck, get well soon.
luki last time o went to wetherspoons I had several of their small dishes like Halloumi. Or go for mixed grill and salad.

I had green pepper stuffed with tuna mayo and cheese and baked for a tuna melt type thing.
Breakfast was 2 slices of bacon and a little scrambled egg and Greek yogurt with mixed seeds.
Dinner will be cauliflower as my veg box just arrived!

qumquat · 22/06/2018 13:12

I tend to go for a burger without the bun in pubs luki

Bingefest I loved your food diary! As a fellow emotional bunger seeing the difference as well.

qumquat · 22/06/2018 13:12

That should say binge eater

Rshard · 22/06/2018 14:05

Take care seafour

Your pepper sounds yummy ragz

Lonesurvivor · 22/06/2018 17:35

seafour you look amazing in the second picture, can you really not see any change yourself? Take care and hope your stats get sorted soon.

This afternoon I've made for the first time a low carb lasagne. It's in the oven now looking smelling lovely.
I also made a veg soup, which I find is an easy way of getting enough veg in.
It's a bit of a minute, cauliflower, broccoli, a few Brussel sprouts, Swede, shallots courgette, a veg stock cube and Philadelphia cheese. I had bits of everything to use and didn't expect much from the combination but it's lovely.

Divette · 22/06/2018 18:00

Hope you’re on the mend soon Seafour.

I’m suddenly today suffering terribly with leg cramps! I’ve avoided them so far, even in week one, by taking a daily supplement of magnesium and potassium. Any ideas why it would suddenly hit now? Does it mean i’m suddenly going to experience a huge loss? (hopeful! Grin)

Gammeldragz · 22/06/2018 18:44

lone that sounds lovely. I gave up making veg soup because it always ended up orange and boring!
seafour forgot to compliment your photo as I was too concerned by your SATs, but you look lovely, amazing progress considering your lack of mobility and a real inspiration.

Dinner was broccoli with cream cheese melted on it and a small serving of bolognese as it wasn't the low carb one.

I did have a few mouthfuls of cake earlier as it was a disaster and fell apart and I was trying to see if it was edible. It wasn't going to the school fete so I had to make emergency cornflake cakes, which I resisted even tasting. The tiny bit of cake I did have just made me feel yucky, so I'm not missing it.

clare8allthepies · 22/06/2018 20:28

Wow what amazing photos, really inspiring!

Hope you’re feeling better soon Seafour

My partner has been following this along with me for the past couple of months but disappointingly when he had his consultant appointment yesterday (he’s type 1 diabetic) he got told to pack it in and start eating carbs again. I think he’s going to try to follow a moderate carb diet of 50-100g carbs a day rather than the Bootcamp version.

Had a wobble this morning, was walking around the farmers market and was amazed at how I wasn’t bothered by all the pastries and gourmet doughnuts on sale. Then I walked past the amazing falafel stall. One day I will have falafels again! 😂🥙

oldbirdy · 22/06/2018 20:40

Just been to local pizza restaurant to celebrate DS finishing his GCSEs. I had breaseola (? Air dried beef) with artichoke and parmesan, followed by aubergine parmigiana with rocket and parmesan. Great so far. I then had coffee with cream and fresh strawberries with a pot of melted dipping chocolate whereas I should have had no pudding. So I am abstaining from my usual Friday evening vodka and Slimline tonic in penance.

Really struggling with my sinuses from hayfever, which is causing nasty earache for which I keep having to take painkillers (can still feel it) and decongestants. Hoping that doesn't impact my weight too much.
