Morning all

Flowers

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness once more

So the finish line is almost in sight. I see from the last thread that some of you have been struggling to stay on track - just three more weeks to go, so stay focused.

That 'it's only one piece of bread/one glass of beer' moment really isn't worth it. Been there, got the t-shirt.

If you're bored with the food - there are two things that could help you. Firstly, think back to the last time you were doing a low calorie/low fat diet - how awful was it to have to scavenge the shelves looking for something low calorie enough, and how often were you eating food that didn't actually taste that nice, but delivered only on the basis of being low calorie? Rice cakes that might as well be polystyrene ceiling tiles, for example!

And then go and read the recipe thread for some inspiration, and find something new to cook. There's nothing on there that's difficult to do.

I'd also say that I see a lot of you are trying to recreate things that are high carb - pizza or bread, for example. These things are very unlikely to be the same, or as nice, as the high carb versions. And all the time you're trying to recreate something you're missing, you're just reminding yourself that you're missing something!

So try not to do this, but focus on things that are beautifully low carb and that you can enjoy for their own taste and benefits.

Here's to a successful week for us all.

HemanOrSheRa thank you thought it might be Alfie - early.

C4pinkwheels · 13/07/2017 19:53

Yes Elsa the pervert bird murderer brought it in as a thank you gift for DH feeding her. It's got a tiny cut on its right eyelid. It's been cleaned with hibiscrub and treated with antibiotic eye drops. Poor thing was gasping and very shocked but has had 0.4ml of manukau honey dissolved in water and is now hoping around my sewing table. DH is grinding up some woodlice and banana mash.
Can you tell I've got form when it comes to bringing baby birds back from the brink.

When the DC were little I raised a baby female blackbird from a featherless scrap to fully grown, she lived part time in the garden but used to swoop in the kitchen window every morning and perch on the side of the DCs cereal bowls and share their porridge. It was gorgeous. I sacked my cleaner because she shut the window on the landing where lucky used to come in for her lunch every day - the bird was never seen again, probably ended up in the vacuum cleanerShock yes it did shit on the floor occasionally but so did the two and three year old.

So it needs a name

Today I have eaten two scrambled eggs and a square of dark chocolate that my physio brought me, just one square wrapped in a piece of tissue.

DH is cooking duck breast and stir fry veg for dinner

Oh my Lord I hated it when my cats did this. Girl cat has mellowed from psycho killer, boy cat is a big boobah. Anna or Olaf for names Wink.

When the neighbors knock on your door to get their ball back and you answer the door like this Blush

In my defence, DP is out and I needed a girly night in! Blush

My vote for baby bird name is Keith. Then again, I have dogs called Eric and Elvis and a fish called Vinny so I may not be the best judge Grin

Naschkatze · 13/07/2017 20:35

Heman How long and what kind of temp would you slow roast it at? Is there anything I should put on it?

C4 "grinding up some wood lice" Shock I've tried to rescue many birds from my two hunters but not succeeded. I've done the dark box, water thing numerous times but they've all been too shocked to survive Sador maybe I'm doing it wrong and finishing them off.
I think it should be called Hope but then I'm soppy Grin

JiminnyCricket · 13/07/2017 20:37

No not Keith, NAMASTE.

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 13/07/2017 20:37

C4 as your last bird you called Lucky.
how about
"Happiness" short for happiness is egged shape
following the Egg fast and eggy breakfasts theme we have on the thread and the old 1950's slogan.

YoLoZammo · 13/07/2017 20:48

I vote Owlette.

I know it's not an owl. My DC may be obsessed with PJ Masks cartoon.

HemanOrSheRa · 13/07/2017 20:50

Hehe! Jimminy you look pretty Smile. Morrisons meals are excellent aren't they? I had a chicken with bacon and cheese sauce recently. Also the cod/haddock mornay that you recommended, both were excellent when you can't be arsed.

Something like this Nasch if you want to roast the whole piece in the oven for the whole cooking time. www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/782637/threehour-pork-belly. PLEASE DO NOT GRILL PORK BELLY SLICES LIKE WHAT I DID MANY YEARS AGO Grin. Horrid and chewy.

I love ribs so adapt recipes to suit pork belly slices. Chinese style particularly work well.

Veryflummoxed · 13/07/2017 20:56

Fang

JiminnyCricket · 13/07/2017 20:57

fang Grin

Naschkatze · 13/07/2017 21:04

Thanks Heman! I should have said that it's the slices I've got so looking for a ribs recipe is a good idea. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow.

secretsignal · 13/07/2017 21:08

Style I've not tried a link before so it may not work, but I like the look of this bikini brief

MOIST · 13/07/2017 21:14

Namaste Bitches.

I am home from my lovely holiday. I am brown, relaxed and covered in a hideously disfiguring rash.

I have also been a carby twat so I am very fat. I shall weigh tomorrow and assess the damage.

And then I will read the recipe thread. Go shopping and get back on it.

MOIST · 13/07/2017 21:15

Leprosy?

SayrraT · 13/07/2017 21:20

Angry just once I'd like one part of my post-doc to go to plan. I'd also like it if I could have a week off without actually having to go to work.

Wish I could tell you all my issues but I can't, I'm not allowed to, but all I can say is that I HATE science!

starsky22 · 13/07/2017 21:33

I can recommend Fantasie bikinis, bought a couple for holiday last year, found the underwired tops really supportive and liked the control bottoms too.

Not very hungry today, only just eating dinner now as I didn't want anything earlier, so did 30 day shred instead. Feels very weird not to be hungry all the time!

Today:
B - ham & cheese rollups
L - beef & broccoli stirfry
D - courgetti with salmon & parmesan cream sauce

HemanOrSheRa · 13/07/2017 21:37

Ooh MOIST. Yes love, it was nice knowing you Grin. Is it just on your feet or all over? I'm much more fair skinned than you and get rashy feet from sand, sun and sea water. Or are you allergic to sun cream if it's all over?

starsky22 · 13/07/2017 21:39

Sorry science isn't showing you the love today Sayrra, but you don't really hate it do you?!

Welcome home Moist, glad to hear you will be back on it tomorrow!

I'm going out on Saturday night, so will be drinking, is there anything I can do to limit the damage!? I can stick to low carb for dinner, it's just the alcohol I'm worried about. I don't go out very often, so would like to have a few drinks!

MOIST · 13/07/2017 21:41

Patches. Feet, right knee, left calf, gut, right hand.

And mozzie bits too. It's really destroying my retirement plans.

OldBooks · 13/07/2017 21:44

It looks like an allergic reaction Moist. What have you put on it, if anything?

HemanOrSheRa · 13/07/2017 21:54

MOIST is it itchy? It looks like a reaction to the sun/heat to me. Did you use sun cream? Or leprosy Sad.

Mozzies bites - start taking really good quality garlic tablets and vit B complex about three weeks before you go away.

No use to you MOIST Sad.

SayrraT · 13/07/2017 21:56

star science hasn't showed me the love since I started this job in June 2015! The only consolation I have is that it's not as bad as January-September 2016 were and that my contact ends in May 2018.

The last day off I had (before this week) was the 26th May, I took this week off ahead of an experiment starting next week. Except I had to work all day Monday then something went wrong today so I was in tonight and I'll have to go in tomorrow as well. Never mind, it could be a lot worse.

MOIST · 13/07/2017 21:59

Horribly itchy. Despite antihistamine And hydrocortisone cream. And copious alcohol.
But I'm home so now it can bugger off.
