Morning all

Flowers

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness once more

So the finish line is almost in sight. I see from the last thread that some of you have been struggling to stay on track - just three more weeks to go, so stay focused.

That 'it's only one piece of bread/one glass of beer' moment really isn't worth it. Been there, got the t-shirt.

If you're bored with the food - there are two things that could help you. Firstly, think back to the last time you were doing a low calorie/low fat diet - how awful was it to have to scavenge the shelves looking for something low calorie enough, and how often were you eating food that didn't actually taste that nice, but delivered only on the basis of being low calorie? Rice cakes that might as well be polystyrene ceiling tiles, for example!

And then go and read the recipe thread for some inspiration, and find something new to cook. There's nothing on there that's difficult to do.

I'd also say that I see a lot of you are trying to recreate things that are high carb - pizza or bread, for example. These things are very unlikely to be the same, or as nice, as the high carb versions. And all the time you're trying to recreate something you're missing, you're just reminding yourself that you're missing something!

So try not to do this, but focus on things that are beautifully low carb and that you can enjoy for their own taste and benefits.

Here's to a successful week for us all.

I know Quorn is demonised but personally I have never had a problem with it. I was told unthread that I should not eat soya also as it can cause inflammation I can't eat dairy because of my skin issues. I think nuts and hard boiled eggs are the only things left .

ASDismynormality · 12/07/2017 13:02

Cherrypi. I understood what you meant. I personally believe that the major of diets will help someone lose weight if they stick to it. Whether they regain/end up with an eating disorder is another matter and very personal to that person.

I too enjoy sewing, I made DD1 some hot pants a couple of days ago and bought myself this fabric to make a dress - (most of the time o have grand ideas but don't finish executing them). [[

ASDismynormality · 12/07/2017 13:02

this is the fabric I bought

So I was feeling a little less desolate today, ate the breakfast that DH brought me in bed and was going out to see the bunnies. Doorbell rings, lovely lady from local social group which I joined and left because skids BM joined, we are friends on FB and she'd seen that I was on HDU last week and called in with a bunch of sweet peas from her garden and a card.
She comes in and happens to mention that she'd been doing the rounds and had called in on another mutual friend who has her leg in a cast after a dog walking accident and she'd also been to see skids BM who is in a terrible state, so so ill, she's had loads of blood tests, can't get out of bed and wait for it IS SO SHORT OF BREATH SHE CAN NO LONGER USE THE PHONE, she has to text instead. She could only speak for a few minutes and then had to use a pen and paper, she had to pop to the shops for her - I thought she wow going to say soup, bread, instant porridge NO what she fancied were a couple of crunchie bars, Doritos and a jar of fucking salsa, she finished off by telling me how terrible it is for my skids to have to face losing their mother when they are so young, she's talking about Dignitas. I just don't engage but obviously her dying makes my problems seem so trivial, thanked her for the sweet peas told her it was time for me to go and rest and fed the sweet peas to my bunnies.

The day I was rushed into hospital my PA spoke to the HDU because I was too breathless to use the phone. HOLY SHIT ON A PANCAKE I'm thinking of having my house checked for covert listening devices, she is welcome to the non working bladder and bowel, agonising muscle spasms and paralysed fucking diaphragm too if she wants them

My DH doesn't think she's copying me at all, please ladies tell me what you make of this, right now I have an urge to go round there and give her a reason to really need a hospital visit - slight problem, how the fuck would I get up the stairs.

Cherrypi · 12/07/2017 13:45

Yes Ilovecherries that is a much more eloquent way of putting what I was thinking.

AdalindSchade · 12/07/2017 13:45

if only she would fuck off to dignitas

TimeIhadaNameChange · 12/07/2017 13:50

C4 - don't waste your energy. She's not worth it, honest. (And whilst I think about it, sweet peas are poisonous so be careful feeding them to your buns.)

Skids BM reminds me of a former friend of mine, who used to collect whichever ailments her friends had and come down with them. I'm not talking about run of the mill things: her best one was when she was convinced she had the same, rare, inoperable brain tumour a mutual friend had. I dread to think how much she cost the NHS on scans, -scopies and the like. And there was never anything wrong with her whatsoever. I spent years feeling guilty that she had depression because of me (she came across me when I was in an awful depressed state once and I thought that had triggered hers), until I realised she just used me for the idea of the illness.

If you can, feel sorry for the bitch. She is obviously so screwed up that she is jealous of your condition. Pathetic woman.

WaaWaaWaaa · 12/07/2017 14:04

Jesus christ C4! What a piece of work... Just let it go and laugh at her patheticness. Maybe Skid-mark one reported back...

C4pinkwheels · 12/07/2017 14:31

Ada if she wants to go to Dignitas I'll give her a bloody lift

Time I couldn't give a flying fuck about her, it's the damage she's doing to my skids that makes my blood boil.
If she really wanted to have an effect on me she should take up all my old hobbies, flying power kites, surfing, running and sky diving but she's too much of a pussy for that.
Clever bunnies didn't touch the sweet peas, I've just retrieved them with my long handled grabber. They were looking at me as if to say "you tried to poison us, bad mummy" they now have a pear on a string which is their absolute favourite treat.

Waawaa it's always been the case that skids had to report in detail what went on in our home - contents of packed lunches, meals, brand of washing powder, shampoo, where I bought theirs and my clothes, who we socialised with, how many times a week I took a crap - it was like living in a gold fish bowl.
It makes me so sad to hear that your PIL aren't involved in your DC's lives, when I became disabled DS and DIL came to live in the village to be near us, they've split up now but exDIL is still a huge part of our lives and DS and new DP are living with us until the end of the month so I will have 3 DGC in the village, other DS lives two hours away but again we Skype every day, read stories and DGS 4 loves to play hide and seek, he will take the phone & me into the pantry and whisper "shall we have a biscuit" he feeds me mine onto the screen and I pretend to eat it.

That's the difference between skids BM and me - I want to be the best mum, grandma, person I can be even with my disability and she is all take take take, me me me. I think I actually hate her guts and I'm not a hate sort of person. I do believe in karma and I can't wait until she gets hers.

Asd, cherripi I'm a sewer and quilter I might go into my studio and post some fabric porn later.

ASDismynormality · 12/07/2017 14:40

Would love to see that C4, love looking st fabric! I also agree that that woman is not worth thinking about though I understand how difficult it is as it impacts on your skids.

ilovecherries · 12/07/2017 15:04

I know Boden gets a lot of flack on here, but you can't fault their customer service. Prompted by finding myself trouserless on the beach today, I went through all my clothes and realised I had a number of unworn Boden items that I had bought summer/autumn/winter last year. I called them up and asked if there was anything that they are still selling that they'd be willing to exchange for a smaller size, even though I had had them so long. Woman went through my order history, found the order number for every unworn item and the price I'd bought it at. Told me to parcel the lot up and return them for account credit. I actually couldn't believe it. I can go shopping!

BIWI · 12/07/2017 15:09

That's very impressive, @ilovecherries!

C4 show me the fabric.

Christ this thread is moving fast.

I keep cheating Sad

I think it might be due to general self sabotage or that I'm worried LCing isnt good while pregnant so everytime there's something carby I fancy, I just think 'well I probably need some more carbs anyway'.

Veryflummoxed · 12/07/2017 15:32

I had a really shit day yesterday. Our car ran off the road, down a ditch and into a tree. To add insult to injury I could hear them over the radio calling me an elderly female. Children and dh fine thank goodness . Nothing serious with me but have a very painful back so it was an ambulance, an uncomfortable time in A and E and the pain killers are making me very sleepy. I'm trying to catch up with the thread and respond in between dozing but only up to about 7pm yesterday. So the thread had moved on since these replies. Lots and lots of other things I wanted to comment on too so just Flowers and Starfor everyone else.

Congratulations ASD that's a fabulous result, well done you.

C4 definitely seen your rabbits. They were lovely. I hadn't realised they were hand reared though.

re posting anxiety, just do what I do and blather away until somebody notices and comments nicely. Mention the words carb, fat, and whoosh every once in a while...
Not directed at me Cleareyes but made me laugh anyway.

user double cream freezes after it's been whipped

I'm so pleased to hear about Baby Alfie SmileFlowers

We use the air fryer Jim (the one which only uses a spoonful of oil and is different I think from the roti fryer) it makes good swede chips, I just make sure my other veg is good and fatty.

WaaWaaWaaa · 12/07/2017 15:39

C4 - I laughed at "shall we have a biscuit!" That's so cute - I'd love to be able to sew. I enjoy knitting but cant since the babies as the couple of times I have tried they make a bee line for it and want to get in the way and help (pull it off). I just don't have time at the moment but hope to pick it up again soonish. Id love to see some more of your work. I saw what you posted on one of the previous threads.

Ilove - thats amazing! WOW I wouldnt have called them.

My fave thing at the moment is if I buy ANYTHING on line I google for a discount voucher/code for the shop. I recommend you ALL do this. I got an extra £100 off our holiday this way and only yesterday got an extra 10% off at H&M and free delivery - an extra £8 ish to me thank you very much!

WaaWaaWaaa · 12/07/2017 15:41

OMG Very - sorry to hear this - make sure you take it easy Flowers

JiminnyCricket · 12/07/2017 16:09

SO I have an odd issue that appears to have developed overnight Confused

I've lost all desire to put things in my mouth Confused Has anyone else ever had this?? The thought of chewing and swallowing things is making me feel really sick and the thought of the feeling of having something in my mouth is really horrible. I feel "full" and as if I've had too much to eat almost, but my last actual food was at 7pm last night Confused

WTF??

I've got a double gym session today (morning and evening) so i NEED something to eat. I had eggs planned for breakfast but as soon as they were cooked I put the fork up to my mouth and gagged. So instead this morning I've had a protien shake (it's 2.2g carb per serving) after the gym to make sure I've had something but I've just tried to eat my chicken and salad for lunch and I've just chucked the whole lot away because the smell and feel of it was making me want to hurl. So I've had another protien shake and a creamy coffee for lunch Confused

I seem to be fine with liquids and haven't actually been sick and I don't feel ill at all, it's only when I think about food that I'm getting this weird sick feeling.

WTF is going on??

FYI, I've been on LCHF for 5 months now and have never had this before!

BIWI · 12/07/2017 16:10

@Veryflummoxed - Shock Glad to hear you're all OK. How on earth did that happen?!

Oliver I was the one that posted about soya, but I didn't mean you personally should not eat soya. Some people aren't affected by it. If you're fine with it, eat it. I don't know why you have taken that post as if I was some kind of medical authority ordering you not to eat it, I'm really not at all.

Ilove what a win!

Very take it easy lovely.

I have been sooooo hungry this morning, it's like I couldn't fill myself. I had, all before 2pm:

Scrambled eggs & cheese
More cheese, some slices were buttered (heaven)
2 spicy pepperamis
half a slice of ham that DD2 left on her plate
2 chicken thighs & a shedload of mayo
Coffee with coconut cream
Costa americano with sugar free caramel syrup & pouring cream
3 pecans
Chai tea (it was only this that seemed to fill me up!)

Now I'm not hungry, don't think I'll be having any dinner, haha. I might get scurvy because there was zero veg in there!

HemanOrSheRa · 12/07/2017 16:19

Thank you for the white cabbage recipes! I'm going to go with Time's suggestion of creamy, cheesy cabbage tonight I am cooking a gammon in my Instant Pot and I was going to have cauliflower cheese with it. Although I have much white cabbage so I can try All Of The Recipes!

Thank you for the Clary Sage suggestion C4. I bought some this morning plus almond oil and rubbed it into my lower abdomen, back and back of my neck (in my car - I was desperate!). It definitely eased the pain. I shall repeat again later. It sounds like BM has Munchausens C4. Or she's an extreme Elevenerifer. Love the 'Shall we have a biscuit' too. So cute Smile.

Bloody hell Flummoxed you take care of yourself - you must be shaken up Flowers.

I have to go to end of year meeting with DS's school tutor now. To be told he's a lovely lad with a 'vibrant' personality but he talks too much Grin. Onto Taekwondo training for DS. Dinner, then I'm on call from 7pm. Thankfully I have the whole day off tomorrow so I can sleeeeeep!

BIWI · 12/07/2017 16:20

@Oliversmumsarmy

I'm not sure I'm following your story - you were struggling with your weight in the sense that it was too low, yet now it's too high. What happened to result in that weight gain?

Also, you say you're allergic to wheat and dairy, but you haven't had this formally diagnosed. Forgive me if you've already done this, but have you tried isolating just one of these to see if it's one or the other (if not both)?

You're also a vegetarian, which isn't making your life any easier! Would you be prepared to consider re-introducing meat and/or fish?

OP posts:
styledilemma · 12/07/2017 16:22

ilovecherries It's good when they use their discretion like that. The lady could tell by looking at your order history that you spend £££'s with them and will more than likely be a lifelong customer.

A lot of these places send old stock to the outlet villages anyway, so they make money either way.

ASDismynormality · 12/07/2017 16:30

very Sounds really frightening, hope your back gets better soon Flowers
