Morning all

Here's the spreadsheet - sorry to keep you all waiting!

So we have four full weeks before our final weigh-in - still time to lose half a stone if you stick at it.

Here's to a good week ahead Flowers

C4 that's a massive relief. Fingers crossed you get home soon!

Naschkatze · 06/07/2017 06:15

Glad things are looking up C4.

Mandelinka What's the recipe for your coconut bread? Is it like keto muffins (egg and coconut flour)?

littlebillie · 06/07/2017 06:46

c4 lovely to hear you are on the mend .

Jim sorry to hear about your dad, my mum has been seriously ill in the last two weeks and it's been very difficult. You just don't know what to do with yourself.

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 06/07/2017 07:10

Well done C4, you're an inspiration.

Jim be sensible and look after yourself.

Well I have an NSV - measured my waist this morning and it's 25 inches! I'm so chuffed.

Food today:
B - scrambled eggs & chorizo
L - garlic mushrooms & salad
D - smoked haddock & creamed spinach

Cherrypi · 06/07/2017 07:41

Good stuff C4.

Argh I'm unraveling. Anyone got any get back on track tricks? Already nicked some of the kids pancakes despite having lovely scrambled eggs with cream. I want to eat scones, biscuits, ice cream and milk chocolate and also be a size 12 please.

dustmotesinthesun · 06/07/2017 08:10

littlebillie v sorry about your mum
I hope she's ok soon

cherrypi get on pinterest or instagram and google low carb before and afters or paleo before and afters. There are some amazing comparison shots. On pinterest google low carb recipes. Lots of stunning shots that should tempt you and show you how much nice food out there there is to eat. Finally get on the website of any clothes shop you love and google size 12 dresses or something. That is helping me when i'm struggling. I want to wear a beautiful dress far more than i want the very very temporary pleasure of carbs. It disappears so quickly and leaves you feeling a giant failure if you do indulge.

JiminnyCricket · 06/07/2017 08:12

Morning all :) I went and did a gym session this morning at 6:30, feel A LOT better for it too.

At Tesco about to pick up something for lunch but can't decide what Hmm

Bibs2014 · 06/07/2017 08:39

Hippa - well done on the 25 inch waist

C4 - great news. Get better soon.

I'm so bloated and uncomfortable due to period ☹️

OldBooks · 06/07/2017 08:49

cherry I feel your pain, I feel the same way. I am not hungry, have had a delicious breakfast which I really enjoyed, but I want to eat more. I am feeling very stressed & anxious at the moment, the more I try to calm down the worse I am getting and I think I am chasing the pleasure of eating as I feel like I am getting precious little pleasure anywhere else right now Confused I have decided to work from home today in hopes that a quiet day to myself (apart from trying to finish major project) will help.

Jim sorry your dad is still so unwell. Billie hope your mum has improved now? Hippa well done on the nsv! Dust I keep looking at lovely dresses in lower sizes, then panicking that i can't afford them!

JiminnyCricket · 06/07/2017 08:59

OldBooks anxiety is a killer for weight loss, I totally get where you're coming from in that Flowers

I've decided I've had enough of being down in the dumps now, it's boring, unproductive and not much fun so relentless positivity is now the order of the day Grin

So, today is going to be awesome. I've been to the gym already this morning and my menu is:

B: creamy coffee
L: cully and scully chicken vegetable soup
D: chicken with pesto and asparagus with a bit of cream

C4pinkwheels · 06/07/2017 09:01

Morning lovelies,

I'm posting about my food for a pleasant change:

B. FF Greek yogurt with stewed rhubarb from my garden (no sugar but cooked with vanilla, orange zest and ginger)
L. Cheese salad - cheese from home & hospital salad
D. DH is bringing a bento flask with, buttered greens, poached salmon and miso soup with bare naked noodles.

No energy to send detailed replies but thinking of everyone going through tough stuff.

Mandelinka · 06/07/2017 09:06

Hi nasch
It's the same recipe I've posted early on in the bC and everybody hated. Wink It's basically coconut flour bread.
I melt about 25g ( it's always a guess) of butter in a rectangular takeaway dish) whisk together with 1 egg, add 1/2 tspoon of baking powder, pinch of salt and maybe 1-2 heaped teaspoons of coconut flour so it's still runny-ish in consistency. I prefer less of the flour as it comes out not as dense.
And microwave this for 1.5 mins on full

The cocoa slice was the same, only added 1 teaspoon of cocoa and 1/3 of teaspoon of truvia. It really tasted great, like a chocolate sponge. I always eat only 1/2 of the slice as it's quite filling. I'm having the second half tonight topped with ff yoghurt and nectarine.

What is the recipe for keto muffin?

How are you doing c4 this morning?
Hope your night was not as horrifying as the previous one....Flowers

cathyandclare · 06/07/2017 09:13

Morning C4, food sounds fantastic, everyone around will be drooling as they tuck into their plastic cheese and dry white bread sarnies! Hoping those antibiotics will nuke the nasties quickly.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, I have a fabulous day and was pretty good- but too much fizz and one utterly delicious macaron (they are my absolute weakness and the hotel gave me one with some champagne) kicked me out of ketosis. But, and this is a big but, I didn't binge or think to hell with it, so I'm taking it as a positive.

Not feeling unwell or bloated, but five lousy pounds to woosh out! They WILL be gone by Monday :)

WaaWaaWaaa · 06/07/2017 09:44

C4 - thats brilliant news - So glad your feeling better. Now dont forget to rest so that you continue getting better. Glad your also getting some food today too.

Jimminy - Glad also that you are feeling more positive. Lifes just a shit sandwich sometimes...

Flowers to you all having a tough time.

As for me - the scales were kooky yesterday back up in weight today..... grrrrr at the scales. I'm less than I thought though but wish the scales would be consistent...

B - Breakfast muffin
l - leftovers of courgetti with cheesy bacon sauce and salad
D - Meatloaf I think! I have turkey mince out anyway so if anyone has any good ideas other than meatloaf that would be great!

#NAMASTEBITCHES

OldBooks · 06/07/2017 10:05

Gives Jim a virtual anxiety survivors fist-bump. That and the perma-tiredness and a complex high-stakes work project are all feeding into each other and making me feel worse. Are you taking anything for it Jim? I have been on citalopram then sertraline for several years, terrified at the thought of coming off them, but wondering if they are affecting attempts to lose weight as they increase appetite I believe, and increase tiredness.

C4 your menu for the day sounds delicious! Good food like that can only help you to feel better.

styledilemma · 06/07/2017 10:11

How long does it take to get back on track (in ketosis) if you've had a major pig out? Blush

I'd had a stressful day and last night I had 2 big glasses of wine, which led to the munchies. I ended up eating a bowl of icecream, a slice of swiss roll and a family size bag of crisps.

I'm back on it this morning, which is one very little bit of good news (the days of using a blowout as an excuse to continue eating junk for weeks on end are long gone thankfully)

But I was curious to know how quickly I can get back on track.

Why did I do it? Angry

cathyandclare · 06/07/2017 10:14

Style well done on reining it in :) You can get back in a few days, or less if you exercise and go hard-core. I usually take 3-5 miserable days!

styledilemma · 06/07/2017 10:21

cathy Any particular foods I should increase or avoid in the meantime?

How do you know you're back in ketosis? Do you use the strips?

cathyandclare · 06/07/2017 10:28

You can usually tell because you feel less hungry and lose weight- but I confess to using the strips too!!

Strict Bootcamp rather than anything light is quicker. I find that lots of egg based meals, cheese omelettes and the like do it for me. Loads of water too. Don't panic of you gain more today, it's not fat, it's just the glycogen sucking up water. It'll be gone in a few days. I'm going hard-core with you Grin

styledilemma · 06/07/2017 10:29

Great News C4 Smile
We were all rooting for you yesterday!

jimmini sorry to hear your dad is having such a bad time of it. It must be very worrying for you. Flowers
Good idea about going to the gym to have something to focus on.

OldBooks · 06/07/2017 10:32

Style I'd go back to strict BC and drink LOTS of water. Or you could try the egg fast? StuntNun had a thread on it which tells you how to do it: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/low_carb_diets/2137274-Egg-fast-starting-Monday-21-July

styledilemma · 06/07/2017 10:33

I might go 'stric't for a few days.
or I could do 3 days fasting.

Which I sort of do naturally anyway. I don't eat after 7 and usually eat breakfast about 10 ish.
I could increase it by an hour or so Hmm

I want to buy those ketosis strips but worried the chemist will give me the evil eye over it. Shock

styledilemma · 06/07/2017 10:34

An egg fast?
That sounds like a plan. Luckily I don't mind eggs.
I'll have a read of Stunt's thread.
Thanks!

YoLoZammo · 06/07/2017 10:34

style I remember one of the gurus posted about having an egg day to get back into weight loss. I think it's on the week 6 thread.

YoLoZammo · 06/07/2017 10:34

Ha we all remember that then!! Cross posts
