Morning all

Here's the spreadsheet - sorry to keep you all waiting!

So we have four full weeks before our final weigh-in - still time to lose half a stone if you stick at it.

Here's to a good week ahead Flowers

Well done to all the losers and keep at it to everyone else. Half pound on here but AF has started today so am hoping it's water weight and a few pounds will drift away this week.

Really hoping to get into the 9 Stone bracket this boot camp, will still leave me with lots to loose but will be a fab milestone. Being only 4 foot 10, it seems to be taking a lot longer to show but am certainly feeling a lot better in myself with a 2 stone loss.

cathyandclare · 03/07/2017 09:30

Cleareyes thanks :) I am in the healthy BMI but am very short and feel better a little lower in the healthy range IYKWIM, I can look rather stocky if not pulled into shape by a very tight corset- which doesn't happen very often!!!!

Cherrypi · 03/07/2017 09:42

2.5lb off this morning. Drank too much wine at a barbecue yesterday but ate low carb. Almost at the stone loss.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 03/07/2017 09:47

I have .4 off which is at least the right direction! At 209.4, strangely not bothered as yesterday scales were at a flat 207. So the fluctuation this week has been in 207-209 rather than 209-211 iyswim.

I'm feeling great, though.

Morning campers Grin

Just finished reading the last thread. Jiminy hope your dad recovers well. c4 I wish you a speedy recovery. There've been some stunning photos (both food and clothes!) I wish I were brave enough to post pics of my clothing but think I'll have to stick to food porn Wink And hello to all the newbies.

Was away for 3 days this week at my daughters graduation. I was sooo happy for her, she has literally nearly died twice in the last 7 years and had to take a year out last year as her health was deteriorating again. But she recovered and graduated with a double first from Cambridge. That girl's got some grit and tenacity as she also spent a lot of energy/time battling with the benefits/DSA people too. Anyway, she and her lovely partner are off travelling again in a couple of weeks so I won't see her for about 8 months.

We didn't go to the formal dinner, just the informal buffet. No alcohol was consumed by me Halo I picked the chicken dish and had green salad with it. Desert was strawberries and cream but I left out the little meringues. All in all a good day. We had cooked breakfasts while we were away and just bought salad stuff. Hubby is on a 3 month low fat diet to try and get his cholesterol down (makes for interesting mealtimes) so I had his salad dressings and added cheese portions to mine. So all good.

I'm a pound down (9lbs total this bootcamp) which I'm very happy with. This woe is just the way I eat now after 21 weeks. I calculated I'd be a healthy BMI by October at this rate but I'm happy with that. I feel so much better and that's the main thing for me.

KOKO everyone. I don't post very often but I do (eventually) read all the posts and feel like I know you all Flowers

STS here.
I feel a bit bloated this morning but not sure why. Am on pill so can't be AF.
Anyway yesterday's food:
B: creamy coffee, one egg scrambled with butter and spinach
L: restaurant- bunless burger with cheese and salad instead of chips. Perhaps burger was a bit carby? Doubt it though as it was a homemade one.
D: Thai green curry
Strawberries and cream afterwards
I feel dreadful this morning, I think it might be hayfever related though. Headache, sinussy, fuzzy feeling.
Have just had scrambled eggs and spinach again, need to plan meals for week this morning.
I am going to Wimbledon tomorrow with DH so hoping it will be easy to find stuff to eat as I don't really wish to take a massive bag with picnic.

Duckiesprettycrazy · 03/07/2017 10:29

Help! Just got back from the doctors having been told that my cholesterol is too high (6.7) - I've been given a diet sheet which is telling me I need to avoid full-fat and should eat less than 3 eggs a week! Has anyone else been told their cholesterol is too high?

StuntNun · 03/07/2017 10:37

Don't assume you need to cut calories Cathy, why not list out your food for a few days. Sometimes upping your fat or introducing intermittent fasting can help when you're near your ideal weight.

Duckies total cholesterol is all but meaningless on its own. What were your HDL, LDL and triglyceride levels?

STS again here but I had two glasses of wine and a piece of birthday cake yesterday after a gruelling day at Legoland with nine children so I'm happy enough with that.

Duckiesprettycrazy · 03/07/2017 10:47

stunt nun HDL 1.85, triglyceride 1.31, LDL 4.25 - please explain what it all means Confused

cathyandclare · 03/07/2017 11:06

Creamy coffee (2 tsp cream)
Two eggs fried in coconut oil, mushrooms
Lunch- ham wrapped cheese, salad, oily dressing
Dinner- Barbecued leg of lamb, asparagus roasted in oil, sour cream and chive dip. White wine x2 glasses Blush
Also decaff tea with almond milk.

Creamy coffee (2 tsp cream)
Breakfast: Greek yogurt, few berries, flaked almonds
Lunch: 2 egg omelette with leek and chorizo
Dinner: Homemade burger with cauliflower cheese ( clearing out fridge!)
Also decaff tea with almond milk.

Too much dairy and wine

Morning all, I weighed this morning, won't weigh again for a month now but wanted to check direction was ok. Am 15.10, was 16.5 at start of BC. I feel a little cross with myself as I feel I 'wasted' the first few weeks allowing carb creep and cheating but am on it now. Would love to lose a full stone by the end of BC (5 more pounds) and then get down into the 14s by September.

More impactful would be to get clothes with 14 on the label for the first time in about 15 years.

starsky22 · 03/07/2017 11:58

Well done on weight losses and NSV everyone!

I'm 3lbs down, very pleased and just 1lb away from healthy BMI! So that will be my target for this week, but it's the dreaded week 3 for me so will see what happens.

JiminnyCricket · 03/07/2017 12:04

ClearEyesFullHearts yep, crackers and cheese is my whole lunch, it's plenty! The flax crackers are essentially fat and fibre so very filling and I'm having 10 of them, plus 50g cheese and 30g butter. 630 calories roughly and nearly 60g fat.

All major food groups covered.. fat, butter and yum Grin

StuntNun · 03/07/2017 12:06

Duckies how long have you been eating low carb? In general lipid profile results improve on this way of eating but LDL does often go up, especially at first. I would tend to discount the advice on eggs afaik there's no evidence that dietary cholesterol has any impact on your cholesterol level since so much is produced endogenously (by your body). But you can still cut down your saturated fat intake on this WOE if you want to by emphasising monounsaturated fats such as olive oil, avocado oil and oily fish. I'll have a look at your lipid profile results when I can get to a computer as I'll need to look up reference ranges and calculate your ratios. Do you have any family history of familial hypercholesteraemia? That's one instance where LCHF can potentially be a problem if cholesterol levels are high.

JiminnyCricket · 03/07/2017 12:08

Duckiesprettycrazy your HDL and LDL are the important bits. Your HDL is good cholesterol, it's essential and your level is fine. ANything above 1 is fine.

Your LDL is "bad" cholesterol although there are 2 types of this. Your LDL is high, are you high risk?

secretsignal · 03/07/2017 12:15

Latest discovery for anyone missing crisps or crunch. Like pork scratchings but lighter and fluffier and without the gunk. I got the BBQ, nice but the flavouring is too strong for me, my tastebuds have definitely changed! Maple is slightly higher carb (2.7g).

Duckiesprettycrazy · 03/07/2017 12:20

Thanks for replies, Stunt and Jim - no family history that I know of, although I will check with my dad later ( he is usually quite cagey about health issues). I've been doing lchf since the start of this boot camp - and the blood tests were done a couple of weeks ago so maybe they were raised as you say. It has given me a bit of a scare though so I'll try eating more fish and less bacon for a start. Plus I really need to increase my exercise levels.

Bibs2014 · 03/07/2017 12:20

I haven't been posting much recently and I feel carb creep settling in! Back to being strict this week and taking time to post.

Menu
breakfast - none as wasn't hungry
lunch - tandoori chicken and salad
dinner - beef kebabs and salad, probably have halloumi with this as I love it and eat it every day!

JiminnyCricket · 03/07/2017 12:21

My lunch [grin{

Feel like I should add some token salad leaves to make it less beige Blush

OhTheRoses · 03/07/2017 12:28

I joined very late. Three weeks this Wednesday. Have lost 8lb. So much more energy I'm wondering if I might have a wheat issue aches and pains better too. 21lb to go!

ScoobyDoosTinklyLaugh · 03/07/2017 12:37

Morning all. 11st7 for me.

littlebillie · 03/07/2017 12:46

3lb this week which I attribute to a massive hill walk and general good behaviour!

C4pinkwheels · 03/07/2017 12:50

Hi everyone, I can't weigh today as I'm permanently on the ventilator due to very low sats. I feel rubbish but I think it's more from the antibiotics than the pneumonia or UTI. DH checked in with consultant first thing and I will do an off ventilator check this evening and if it's not at least 91 I'm going to HDU, lovely respiratory nurse has been out and will come again later.

Well done everyone for losing, KOKO, sts and recognising you've gone wrong. I do have to bitch slap Jiminny where the hell are your veggies woman - celery, cucumber sticks, a few cherry tomatoes and olives would have made that a perfect lunch, THINK OF YOUR COLON

Looking back at the six weeks of BC this is the second serious infection I've had, my mother died right at the beginning and I had the whole funeral ordeal to get through as well. Although I've only lost 7lbs it's probably not bad all things considered. The best bit of BC by far is committing to doing GNR 2019 by walking it because wheelchairs are for pussy's and a few of you threatening to come along and be my namaste bitch crew and do a salami guard of honour as I cross the finish line. But the last six weeks of my life would have been very very lonely if it hadn't been for this thread and I would have eaten lots of cake, crisps, chocolate, pasta, bread and potatoes. Thank you all for just being there😢

I also had a nsv yesterday as I decided to wear a beach dress that I bought in New Zealand in January, it was slightly too small in the shop but I was confident about losing weight through continuing to calorie restrict, yesterday I put it on and it's easily two sizes too big.Grin

Hopefully I will be able to weigh in tomorrow.

styledilemma · 03/07/2017 12:56

C4 Flowers You are doing amazingly well considering all the extra challenges you face.

I'm 1 lb down which I'm very pleased with. I was expecting to have put on because the indulgence of wine and carbs over the last week.
But I didn't snack in between meals and I was fairly active, which all helps I suppose.

A question: Is it possible to make flaxseed crackers if you don't have a dehydrator?

styledilemma · 03/07/2017 12:59

C4 some of the beach dresses are as nice and in some cases even nicer than the ordinary dresses I've seen around.
I've just bought a beach/pool (cover up) dress from M & S for next hols and I fully intend to wear it if we go out for a meal in the evening as well.
It's the type of thing you can dress up or down.
Flipflops - pool/beach
Nice sandals and jewellery - Dinner.
