Good morning Flowers

So the last thread reached 1000 posts. I don't think that's ever happened on any other Bootcamp! It's a really good sign that everyone is engaged in the process, even if it's not always been from a positive place. If things aren't working for you, please keep reading and posting - even if you just lurk, hopefully the support and advice here will be helpful for you.

But it's a glorious day again, and the sun is shining brightly already and the birds are singing their hearts out. I hope that this translates into positivity and optimism for all of us this week - even if you've been struggling!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

We're past the dreaded weeks 4 and 5 now, so hopefully things will start to get going in the right direction, and you should see the weight move downwards - assuming, of course, that you aren't cheating or allowing carb creep.

Good luck everyone

And I will admit here that I haven't been to bed yet. I came home and continued drinking. Not my finest hour but I have had a fantastic night/morning. I am going on holiday on Tues so I will reign it in.
Life is for living! and I lost count of the people who told me how slim I looked. The scales have budged 4lb since last week but I wore trousers last night that I haven't been able to fit in for 4 years. Grin

AdalindSchade · 24/06/2017 07:48

Haha you dirty stopout!

StuntNun · 24/06/2017 07:51

Heman no idea whether it applies to you but I was also told I had one leg shorter than the other and a tilted pelvis. A different physio said that my legs were the same length, it was the tilted pelvis that made one seem shorter. He worked on fixing the pelvic tilt and now my legs are the same length and the chronic neck pain I used to suffer from has resolved.

I have had that as well Adalind, it will pass with time. It's possibly ovulation bleeding rather than a short cycle. The hot weather seems to be stalling everyone's weight loss. Probably water retention.

MOIST · 24/06/2017 07:57

Terrible awful leg cramps all night. Post-exercise or some imbalance? Salt?

wombattoo · 24/06/2017 08:00

Adalind - yes! I can't argue with that. I am a dirty stop out! I was up at 3.45am yesterday. No nap through the day, arrived at the wedding at 7.15pm and I'm still here with no sleep! but loads of booze DH didn't come with me last night, so he will be up soon. We are meeting friends at 4.30 today and going on a piss up out. It will be another god knows how many hours before I sleep. We are only here once. Grin
And I apologise now if I have caused any feelings of derailing. I am a long term boot camper Grin
ooh, I have a headache.

Kleptronic · 24/06/2017 08:01

MOIST possibly you need magnesium/potassium, didn't see any green leafy veg in your food, maybe increase that?

MOIST · 24/06/2017 08:06

I've not had much veg for a couple of days. Will get spinach for today. And that cracklings chicken looks good too.

StuntNun · 24/06/2017 08:10

Sciencey explanation of water retention in hot weather taken from this Scientific American article
In the summer, body weight can go up by several pounds due to increased body water. This is accomplished through fluid-conserving hormones such as aldosterone, which allows the kidney to retain more fluid and reduces the amount of salt in sweat, a measure that also aids in water retention.

Moist leg cramps are often a sign you need more magnesium.

wombattoo · 24/06/2017 08:18

I feel the need to give a small explanation. I am slightly a lot pissed. I retired from my job, after more than 30 years, last week. So I have been celebrating for the last 3weeks. The scales have shown a 4lb loss which I am ecstatic about as I wasn't expecting it. I am going on holiday on Tues and will do my best to continue this woe but I will be drinking. My motto remains koko.

MOIST · 24/06/2017 08:19

Wombat. I feel that calls for a little celebration. I do hope you don't feel too rough later.

StuntNun · 24/06/2017 08:20

I'm not sure of the scientific credentials behind this article on water retention but it seems reasonable and the idea is also stated elsewhere. Water "leaks" out of the lymphatic system and goes into your extra cellular fluid, body cavity, organs etc. In the heat lymphatic drainage is impaired so the fluid accumulates, this is why some people get swollen ankles in hot weather.
Nouvriet says, ‘It is very common for healthy people to experience day-to-day weight fluctuations due to water retention. While most people can retain up to five pounds of hidden water weight within the natural fluid that surrounds cells, known as extra-cellular fluid, those who are overweight or suffer from obesity may retain up to eight to ten pounds.'

Long story short: keep drinking lots of water and don't expect weight loss to show until the heatwave is over.

AdalindSchade · 24/06/2017 08:22

It's cold here this morning Grin where is my woosh?

MOIST · 24/06/2017 08:22

Ooooh. My holiday shorts that wouldn't do up now do!!!! They hate too tight to wear in public but the button and hole meet!

C4pinkwheels · 24/06/2017 08:29

Madelinka we have 7 grandchildren, the two who live close by are 7 and 5

Heman the crackers are great, perfect with pate and cheese

Giraffeski the dress is gorgeous - I have a wardrobe full of ball gowns that I don't fit into YET

Kleptronic lovely legs

Wombato when faced with a sandwich at a function - eat the filling, leave the bread you will be just as satisfied. Honestly

I slept really well but the kind of exhausted sleep that isn't necessarily good, DH landed early and was in a car being driven home by 7:15 so should be home by 10:30. My pain isn't so bad today but I haven't tried to move yet. I don't think I will have lost weight this week but we shall see what Monday brings. Carnival today so it will be a burger for lunch - the bread will be going in the bin and if I'm hungry I'll have a second burger. I'm dying to get back with the training for GNR2019. This week I'm allowed to go to the swimming pool, when I'm fit I can swim but it's hard work and must look really odd as I swim with one arm and no legs. I refuse to use the hoist to get into the pool so wheel up to the edge and throw myself in normally. Guess I might have to rethink that one. I'm absolutely not allowed to swim but I am able to float as it's good for stretching my back, I've always found floating easy but paralysed limbs become extra floaty as the bone is quite porous. In six months I will be able to walk in the water again, the water supports me and it helps with balance and falling over hurts less. But I have to stick to the rules, no walking, no swimming only floating.

Can't wait to have DH home.

Have a lovely weekend, don't be carby twats you're all better than that. That's almost poetry.

#myfatcanpissrightoff #namastebitches

HemanOrSheRa · 24/06/2017 08:37

Ooh you are well 'ard wombattoo Grin. Congratulations on your retirement! You need a bloody mary or something similar or else you will feel horrid very soon Grin.

That is very interesting Stunt. I suffer with neck and shoulder pain that gets worse before my period. I'm thinking now that it may be linked to my wonky pelvis.

FinallyHere · 24/06/2017 08:41

Congratulations cherrypi on your lowest recorded weight, KOKO...

Great legs kleptronic

hurrah for Moist's holiday shorts doing up

C4 I just love your attitude wheel up to the edge and throw myself in I'm taking on board your suggestion that I am 'better than being a carby twat'. Exactly what i needed to hear this morning, thank you, wondering whether i should visit the 'pastries' section of the breakfast buffet, since it is the last day.

wombattoo · 24/06/2017 08:44

C4 I know you are right about the bread. I have been doing this for about 4 years. I don't even like bread. It bloats me and gives me digestive problems. However, I ate it Blush

I am married to the most wonderful man in the world, but I have just taken him a cup of tea in bed. He knows I have been up all night drinking and I could sense his disapproval. Grin
I have just realised that I have been up for nearly 29 hours and won't get to bed until about 1 am tomorrow. Oh well.

wombattoo · 24/06/2017 08:46

Thank you Heman

CodLiverOil556 · 24/06/2017 09:00

Hmm I like there might be something in the water retention...I'm drinking about 4L and certainly not peeing it out so it must be going somewhere.

Hoping for a swoosh when it cools down a bit, it's been 32-34 degrees here over the last week and my scales haven't budged at all (in fact they've gone up by 0.2lbs)

starsky22 · 24/06/2017 09:00

Morning all,

Wombat I'm new to the thread and reading about your antics I thought you were a young 'un, was thinking how I couldn't stay up drinking all night anymore and then go drinking the next day, then saw you had just retired! Go you! Enjoy your retirement I say!

MOIST great NSV! well done!

C4 I've read your earlier posts about what you have been through and think you have an amazing attitude, I love the thought of you chucking yourself in the pool!

Feeling apprehensive today as weekends are usually filled with lots of fresh bread, sweet treats and alcohol, plus going to a friends BBQ so first time I will not be in control of the food on offer, presume there will be BBQ'd meat and hopefully a salad so I can stay on track.

Going to start the day off with 30 day shred!

StuntNun · 24/06/2017 09:02

Heman what the physio said to me was that my pelvis was tilted to one side and slightly back and it was throwing everything else out of alignment causing neck pain and uneven leg length. He did a bit of work to relieve the pain but mainly it was retraining me to keep my pelvis in the correct alignment and everything else followed on from there.

NamelessEnsign · 24/06/2017 09:22

stuntnun and heman exactly the same here - it wasn't that one leg was longer, it was that my HMS allowed my sacroileac joint to dislocate and stick, rotating my pelvis and making one leg look shorter.

My SI joints pop in and out daily, but I can sometimes pop them back myself now. I know something is locked out right now because I have calf pain, knee pain, loss of power, and migraines. I really need to get back to the physio but I am struggling with hectic work at the moment. When you live with HMS pain is a frequent partner and sometimes it takes a while for these things to register!

dustmotesinthesun · 24/06/2017 09:43

Heman GrinGrinGrin

Had a kipper for breakfast with butter and veg. Hoping to get through the weekend with my diet intact

styledilemma · 24/06/2017 09:46

Hi!
Hope everybody's doing OK.
I'm KOKO Smile
Food wise, I think I did well yesterday, but I did have a couple of glasses of wine last night.

In the spirit of being honest, It was 3 very large glasses Blush

The good news is, I didn't have any snacks with the wine (wine usually triggers me into eating everything in sight) so, even though the wine was bad, I managed to hold it together with the food.
So I'm not too disappointed in myself.

The scales have gone down, but that could be a bit of dehydration from the wine.
I don't know why I did it - hangovers when Low carbing are the stuff of nightmares so I've discovered

ragz134 · 24/06/2017 09:46

Morning all.
wombat you animal, you! I must be half your age and the closest I've got to staging up all night in recent memory was going to sleep at 4:30am on election night! Congratulations on your retirement. Are you not able to have a nap this morning?

c4 I can picture you shouting #namastebitches as a war cry as you throw yourself rebelliously into a pool!

Yesterday
12:45pm - protein roll, ham, cheese, butter, mayo, lettuce.
5:30pm - 6 small chipolatas, stir fried kale, carrots.
10pm - Double cream from the tub and a very small amount of Baileys as I had a very painful sore throat and it was soothing!
Also DH made amazing mash so I did have a few spoonfuls.

Today we are at a birthday picnic, luckily the host is on a special low sugar diet so I may be able to eat some of the foods!
I'll take some of those Aldi rodillos things.
