I know! Doesn't time fly when you're having fun? Wink

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your delectation!

Remember, week 4 is, like week 3, a time when weight loss tends to be pretty slow, if not non-existent. KOKO and persevere, and things will get going again soon.

But not if you cheat! Whilst many of you have been very honest about your transgressions, just remember that this WOE is not a very forgiving one. It's not like a calorie-controlled diet, where you can compensate for one 'bad' day with a 'good' one. As some of you have already found out the hard way!

Wow Jim I repeat my previous comment, you are truly an inspiration. And so lucky to have the chance for a free personal trainer. You are going to be so toned at the end, never mind slimmer!

Wish I could be someone's project like this!

Flibbertyjibbit · 16/06/2017 22:59

Wow Jim Congrats on getting onto the program.

OldBooks · 16/06/2017 23:11

BBQ tonight, only meat was sausages. No fish/veggie proteins. Fine, got some sausages and salad. The sausages tasted like bread. They must have been mostly added fillings not actually meat Envy I now have horrible reflux Sad proud that I didn't have any of the cobs, potatoes, pasta or cake on offer but annoying that the lack of meat has given me such indigestion. OTOH this is the first WOE I have ever done where a slip-up/cheat/accident makes you feel shit so it does help to stay on track!!

JiminnyCricket · 16/06/2017 23:14

Soooo DP just had to fish me out of the bath Blush

Tomorrow is going to be a killer, I'm going on a 7km walk too Sad

Food was good today:
Coconut coffee
Broccoli and Stilton soup with antipasti
Salmon, cream cheese and kale. This was amazing but I reckon that was because I was starving Grin

BIWI · 16/06/2017 23:16

You are going to be so stiff and sore tomorrow Grin

MaryThorne · 16/06/2017 23:18

Jim that's fantastic, I'm so impressed!

C4pinkwheels · 16/06/2017 23:55

Dustmotes all quilters have a few PHD's (projects half done) lurking in the cupboard, along with a fabric mountain stash.

Littlebillie ask the hotel to do you a plate of pate, celery, cheese, meat or unashamedly eat the fillings out of the sandwiches.

Mumto3boys. Welcome, keep posting and KOKO*

Jiminny* respect lady, just a tiny bit envious right now

I've made rocky road, lemon vanilla bean tray bake, chocolate cup cakes, flapjacks and sixty cookies it's the most intensive physical activity I've done for months and I didn't lick a spoon or taste ANYTHING. I ate a huge lunch before I started and was too tired to eat when I'd finished and I wasn't hungry.
Early start for me tomorrow and right now I have to attach myself to the ventilator.

dustmotesinthesun · 17/06/2017 00:14

Good to know it's not just me c4!

Jiminny i feel so excited for you and a bit envious!! Sounds brutal but I'm sure it will make a big difference. Hope you aren't too sore tomorow. Will look forward to hearing more about it over the next few months.

I achieved something today. I went to a friend's house for supper and I didn't cave. I prepared what I was going to say beforehand. I stuck to it. I took my own food (buffet so it wasn't an issue) No one batted an eyelid!! So much nicer to come home having stayed on track. V happy. It makes me feel a little more like I can do this.

JiminnyCricket · 17/06/2017 01:22

Oooooh those of you saying you're envious should see me right now Blush

Went to bed a couple of hours ago, couldn't get comfy because my everything hurts, so I'm currently in an empty bath with a blanket and pillows because it's the only place i can semi- lie down without muscle pain! It felt good to prove them wrong but next time I have a bright idea like this, can someone please be the voice of bloody reason??

Had an email through with my schedule:

Monday 6:30pm: hell. Also known as circuit training the same as I did tonight

Tuesday: 5km walk minimum with the hounds, I can do this split over morning and evening.

Wednesday: 6:30am: 30 minute spin class before work (WTF.)

Thursday: 5km walk

Friday: 17:30 PT catch up and 30 mins of hell.

Also work lunchtime yoga whenever available, minimum once, max twice a week.

Saturday and Sunday: rest days, but I need to walk 10km minimum over the 2 days..

No nutrition plan included in the pack she's sent but in her email she says she's happy I'm eating well, although depending on sustainability of the training plan she might make me up my calories.

Key performance indicators are my weekly weigh ins with her on Wednesday mornings and it's my body fat percentage she's measuring not my weight and she's also taking measurements. She's not bothered about pounds loss in the slightest. I am though so I'm going to keep weighing on Mondays.

I'm currently at 50.5% body fat, which means I'm actually more fat than human Hmm.. that's a grim thought!

dust that's a massive, massive achievement and a huge step forward!!

knottyhair · 17/06/2017 06:15

C4 I watched an old episode of Food Unwrapped last night and they were looking at which probiotics are best (most are destroyed by stomach acid before they reach the digestive system). They tested kimchi, sauerkraut, a new probiotic chocolate, a yoghurt drink and full fat live yoghurt, and only the yoghurt products were effective. The sauerkraut was no good at all and the other products' bacteria only reached the gut if they were eaten on an empty stomach.
Jiminy wow, what an achievement! Good luck with the program.
Naschkatze hope your DS gets better soon and that your night wasn't too bad.
World, FH pizza is on my list to try, looks amazing.
Weighed in this morning and have STS again. That's 2 weeks at 10 stone (5' 3") but I do think my clothes look better and I feel better. May just be a stall (have been properly committed to this since April 10th). I might start logging on MFP again; I'm doing a tough workout at least 5 days a week plus around 14000 steps a day and drinking plenty of fluids. If the last few pounds don't shift, then maybe I accept that this is my weight - if I can keep eating this way (which I love) and easily maintain my weight at 10 stone, that may have to be good enough. Today will be a funny one as I'm out & about a lot. Need to see my mum first thing (she's in a care home) so will try to grab a quick breakfast when I get back about half ten, then I need to take DD to a party, then off to school fair. There will be a BBQ so I'll probably grab a burger and leave the bun. Tonight's meal is pan fried salmon with crispy skin, celeriac chips and greens fried in butter. Have been having 2 small squares of dark chocolate in the evening with a cup of decaf tea so maybe I should knock that on the head.

Naschkatze · 17/06/2017 07:15

Knotty Thank you! 6 hours sleep and I feel virtually human again. We've had smiles again this morning so I think he's on the mend.

Jim I'm sorry but the image of sleeping in the bath made me chuckle. I hope you got some sleep and aren't feeling too sore this morning.

CaptainBraandPants · 17/06/2017 07:23

Oh dear jiminny Grin I don't really believe the no pain, no gain mantra, but you might need to take it up.
C4 those cakes sound lovely, I'm very impressed you didn't lick the spoon. Crocheters/ knitters have WIPS: works in progress. Also, stashes of yarn all around the house. Smile
Old sounds like a rubbish BBQ, I would have been so disappointed. Well done for avoiding all the carby stuff.
dust well done. Other people except Jiminny's MIL really aren't as bothered about our food choices as we think they are.

Plan for today:
Black coffee and water this morning.
Leave for London at about 12pm.
Take cream for the coffee on the train. I'm a bit of a diva when it comes to trains and pretty much refuse to travel unless it is first class. Grin So, there will be free food, which from experience will be carby, so I will refuse it and take my own lc snacks. Probably hm chorizo crisps and cream cheese.
Relaxing afternoon getting ready.
Meeting for cocktails at 5pm, but I've already told DH I won't be having alcohol then. I am a light weight when it comes to alcohol nowadays. I think I've had alcohol 4-5 time this year, so I am a really cheap date.
Champagne up the Shard a 6.30 (Oo er Missus) which I will have.
Then dinner after at that meaty heaven, with another glass or two of wine.

Sorry to bore you with my itinerary but it helps me to think it through and have a plan. I'm also looking forward to an almost full English breakfast tomorrow. Grin

Have a lovely weekend everyone, it's beautiful here already.

CaptainBraandPants · 17/06/2017 07:25

Nasch oh, I'm glad your little one is on the mend and you got some sleep. We have the opposite problem now our eldest is 15! Grin

ChesterDrawers · 17/06/2017 07:25

Wow Jim amazing! And I have to say I'm a little jealous too. Stuff like that is always hard at the beginning but with that kind of support you'll be surprised at how fast you progress.

I don't really have a plan again today Hmm. Winging it seems to be going ok at the minute but it's not a good way to be.

StuntNun · 17/06/2017 07:50

Mary and Jiminny and anyone else taking up or increasing exercise, be aware that you're likely to experience water retention after workouts. Anything that leaves you aching up to 48 hours later (technically this is called DOMS - Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) causes water retention as a means of protecting the damaged muscles while they heal. So don't worry if the scales are a bit erratic around exercise.

DH had a bad day yesterday so we went to our local pub for dinner instead of having to cook. I had pan-fried sea bass with mussels, cherry toms and a thin sauce of samphire and spring onions. I asked for them to leave out the new potatoes and they volunteered to swap the spuds for creamed spinach. We're getting there with the low carb revolution!

So many crafty people on here, what a lovely bunch of peeps you all are. I think this is my favourite ever Bootcamp because everyone has been so great and positive and supportive. Refuses to disclose location of huge stash of wool and half-finished canvas from tapestry projects.

CaptainBraandPants · 17/06/2017 07:57

This is my main wip at the moment. It's about two thirds done. Trouble is, it's getting a bit big and warm to take out and about with me.

CaptainBraandPants · 17/06/2017 07:58

For some reason, my photo seems to be upside down. ConfusedGrin

OldBooks · 17/06/2017 08:08

I daren't share images either of my fabric stash or my embroidery works in progress... Since having the DDs I just don't seem to have any mental energy for cross Stitch and am still working on a birth sampler for my best friends baby who is now 3 Blush

Just had creamy cheesy omelette for breakfast. Eggs again when out with my mum friends (heady freedom!!). Probably turkey mince in a Bolognese with roast veg for tea. Beautiful day here already so sure I will want lots of water!

Star for everyone because the thread moves so fast I feel I miss out on responding to all your good news

Also attaching a pic of DCat having a lazy morning!

Week 4 - Low Carb Bootcamp - Coming to the end of our first month
OldBooks · 17/06/2017 08:10

Aaargh here's a novel dieting tip - there is a big black spider in my fridge which is rather putting me off getting a spoonful of cream!!

TheWayOfTheWorld · 17/06/2017 08:18

I have a confession to make - I ate a fruit pastille Blush

I was dishing them out to the kids and popped one in my mouth without thinking about it. Was merrily chewing away and then just as I swallowed the bloody thing came to my senses, too late. Started having a panic attack about poisoning myself by with sugar and contemplating making myself sick to bring it back up.

And then I woke up.

Yes - I had a nightmare about eating verboten foodstuffs. I don't even like bloody fruit pastilles!

TheVicarOfNibbleswicke · 17/06/2017 08:21

Ha ha that's so funny! I also had a dream last night I ate a slice of toast and ham. It was delicious.

JiminnyCricket · 17/06/2017 08:28

Mmmmorning!

Actually feeling rather sprightly this morning.. sore, but as long as I keep moving I think I can cope although DP had to fasten my bra this morning Blush

I've left my coffee at work so can't have a coconut cream coffee for breakfast, I do have coconut cream though so maybe cocoa powder in it instead of coffee?

Dinner is salmon stuffed with cream cheese and spinach with asparagus, not sure about lunch yet.

Thanks stunt for the tip off about water rentention, I'll drink plenty and try not to take it personally if I'm up a couple of pounds on Monday, although I'm weighing in after 2 rest days so hopefully it should be ok?

TheWayOfTheWorld · 17/06/2017 08:28

C4 super impressed with your will power and your crafting. Ditto to you dust on the will power front.

Jiminny hope you managed some sleep. Given that the muscle stiffness has come on so quick you probably did overdo it yesterday (understandable) so your muscles are like WTF! Try to keep moving today as it will help. You may also need to brace yourself getting on and off the toilet if your thighs react anything like mine. Next time will be better Smile

Old I am a lapsed cross stitcher too - one of my WIPs is for my friend's son who is 5 1/2 Blush. Maybe I will try and start again.

Will post menu later - snoozing for a bit before I go out on a run.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 17/06/2017 08:42

No way would I be going near the fridge if it had a large spider inside! I can cope with small spiders or daddy long legs but house spiders make my skin crawl. Rather you than me, Old.

Lanaa · 17/06/2017 08:58

Morning everyone. I'm still KOKO but I haven't had much time to keep up with this incredibly fast moving thread. This is my third week and it seems to be becoming second natural. I'm amazed at how I no longer have the desire to eat carby starchy food. One thing I do miss is chocolate. I'm not going to break out the dairy milk, but is it ok to have this sweet freedom stuff. I was thinking of folding it into some whipped cream to make a mousse or adding to almond milk to make hot chocolate.

Jim - is the gym part of the Elite transform chain? I'm really interested in joining that one too.
