I know! Doesn't time fly when you're having fun? Wink

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your delectation!

Remember, week 4 is, like week 3, a time when weight loss tends to be pretty slow, if not non-existent. KOKO and persevere, and things will get going again soon.

But not if you cheat! Whilst many of you have been very honest about your transgressions, just remember that this WOE is not a very forgiving one. It's not like a calorie-controlled diet, where you can compensate for one 'bad' day with a 'good' one. As some of you have already found out the hard way!

Craftypuss i think stalls are just a part of weight loss. You definitely get them on low fat diets. Definitely koko and it should get moving again. At least this woe has lots of other benefits. It will still be doing you so much good

Craftypuss · 16/06/2017 16:14

@dustmotesinthesun - Thank you. Oh, I know it's worthwhile - I've seen my blood sugar numbers fall dramatically (this all started last summer with a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes). I was just starting to wobble because after a great beginning, the weight loss has been negligible/yoyo'ed for 2-3 months, despite my best efforts. You know how that little voice in your head keeps piping up 'see, I told you it wouldn't work, it's too enjoyable'!!
I'll KOKO, even if only to irritate my diabetic nurse, who seems to go pale at the merest hint of LCHF! Grin

OldBooks · 16/06/2017 16:31

littlebillie is it a deal where you have to have the afternoon tea? I am out for one with friends tomorrow but I requested a restaurant that has other things on the menu including the usual brunch egg dishes so I will ask for eggs benedict or similar with extra salad instead of toast. Could you do something similar? I didn't tell my friends I am doing lchf, just that I have been watching my food and have detoxed from sugar and don't want to undo my detox

cabbage67 · 16/06/2017 17:16

Jim You should absolutely go for it. I would love a PT but could never justify the cost of one. I struggled to motivate myself at the gym so ended up cancelling my membership and now just stick to running.

DO IT!

Will you change your name to Gyminny? Grin

dustmotesinthesun · 16/06/2017 17:41

Grin craftypuss. That must be so satisfying. Glad it's helped your blood sugars. And yes it does feel unreal it could work. I went to a lovely farm shop the other day. The guy at the counter was all 'you're going to give yourself a heart attack.' He was so shocked.

Craftypuss · 16/06/2017 17:52

@dustmotesinthesun Grin That's given me a good incentive. Every time I start to wobble, I'll imagine the diabetic nurse's expression! (Sorry, I know there are great ones, mine is more of the NHS rules are the only rules, combined with really patronising attitude. She's a great incentive to not need an appointment...!)
Right, Craftyp, get your positive head on and enjoy the butter!! Halo

dustmotesinthesun · 16/06/2017 17:55

A really close friend with Type 1 diabetes has been so helped by low carbing. Actually the whole reason i was ever brave enough to try it was because I read a diabetes forum where there were pages of testimonials from people who'd come off all medication and lost tons of weight. It's v impressive. I was convinced it was a dangerous fad before then

There was something in the news about coconut oil being high in saturated fat and therefore bad aswell! I do have moments when I wonder what I'm doing but I spent 16 years as a vegetarian on a hi carb diet with terrible digestive issues, putting on a lot of weight. Feel so much better now!

C4, your quilt is lovely - I love craft too but don't have time to indulge these days.

L238 · 16/06/2017 18:23

littlebillie that study was tiny (19 people) and very short term under strict lab conditions. I'd interpret those results with a very large pinch of salt (and a huge dollop of butter!)

ASDismynormality · 16/06/2017 18:26

littlebillie in that study the people eating low carb were still having 30% carbs per day which is higher than we are having on bootcamp. I think we have around 10%.

styledilemma · 16/06/2017 18:26

jiminny do it!
When else will you get the opportunity to have £500 worth of FREE Personal Training sessions? Which is what it is.
I'm jealous!

styledilemma · 16/06/2017 18:30

hippa
Oh no, I can't imagine wasting carbs on a boring ole banana Wink
give me cheescake

How did it taste?
Bananas are full of sugar. You will be bouncing off the walls Smile

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 16/06/2017 18:35

I love bananas, I miss them. It was totally worth it. Just did a 3 mile progression run as well, so I'm sure it was good fuel, haha.

BIWI · 16/06/2017 18:37

@littlebillie - have you read any of the resources on the spreadsheet? There's loads of information there that's much better quality than that!

But also, to reassure yourself, you should do some reading around low carbing and the science behind it.

OP posts:
AdalindSchade · 16/06/2017 18:38

I had a bit of a carby day today, I ate 2 small chocolates from a box as well as 2 squares of dark chocolate Blush then I had homemade tomato pasta sauce on my dinner because I am missing tomatoes so much. My usual food is all based around tomato, chilli and garlic so I have missed a good tomato sauce. I will do Zumba tonight and have yoghurt when I get back.

Dinner was courgetti, mushrooms, baby sweetcorn, green beans and chilli fried with tomato sauce and grated cheese. Ds had pasta and a few of the veg :)

BIWI · 16/06/2017 18:41

... and just to add, that study is not only 2 years old (what were you searching for?!), but to only focus on 19 people is very bad science indeed.

To make matters worse, they were only following each of the diets for 6 days! How is that a proper study?

OP posts:
AdalindSchade · 16/06/2017 18:43

All this cooking proper food is dangerous though I have managed to burn myself twice in the last 2 days

Planning Sunday morning eggs with smoked salmon and nibble only

Duckiesprettycrazy · 16/06/2017 19:04

Just set yourself a goal and try and stick to it. Because you'll always end up better than where you started.

Saw this quote today which seemed appropriate- I put on last week and have stayed the same so far this week and was starting to get frustrated by lack of progress. But I reminded myself that I'm better off than I started, and giving up won't help - KOKO will give results eventually!!

Naschkatze · 16/06/2017 19:28

Jim I too say go for it! I've never been more focussed on losing weight/getting fit as I was before my wedding. If you think it's practically possible (time per week etc) then do it. I'm wondering if my gym does anything similar.

Duckies I like the quote! Going to remember that.

Had another odd day. DS really unwell and now on antibiotics. Finding it tough to see my baby so miserable. Plus he won't breastfeed (due to sore throat, ear infection, blocked nose etc) so I'm desperately trying to express enough milk for him. I'm so worried about him becoming dehydrated. Sorry to offload here!
As a result I've not eaten much, in fact I think I need to eat more because I've been feeling lightheaded again it's just been hard to find the time!
Food today:
B - Coyo yoghurt
L - 3 lettuce 'boats' with egg and cheese mayo. I was intending this to be merely a snack but it didn't work out that way.
S - 5 olives, 2 squares dark chocolate, small piece of cheese.
D - courgetti carbonara, made by DH, amazing. Smile

I'm still a bit hungry and will likely be staying up a lot again overnight so there will definitely be more food. Maybe an avocado and some yoghurt. Or I might convince DH to try some low carb pancakes!! If anyone has a good recipe - send it this way!
