I knew I'd find weekends tricky... food for today:

B - Yoghurt and berries
L - Picnic: avoided quiche, crisps, sausage rolls and ice cream. Ate cucumber sticks, chicken and chorizo bites, halloumi, salami, olives. Also cocktail sausages which are quite carby and a tiny amount of cous cous salad Confused
D - haven't got there yet but am planning a cauliflower and brocolli cheese with bacon and salad because I've not eaten enough veg today.

Tomorrow is going to be hard too. BBQ will be fine but I'm sure there will be lots of sweet treats on offer.
I feel bad for not being stricter with myself today so I'm going to stick to it tomorrow!

HemanOrSheRa · 27/05/2017 19:01

Where are you Captain? It's just starting to brighten over here after being cooler and cloudy all day. Too windy for a BBQ I think though.

readyforno2 · 27/05/2017 19:07

Is anyone else finding they're just not that hungry with this heat?!

Today
B - fried eggs with bacon and mushrooms
L - chicken and mayo salad
D - a tiny salad with cheese and some ham.

I've drank loads of water and walked loads too.
35 days till I go on holiday. I NEED to pull my finger out!

CaptainBraandPants · 27/05/2017 19:10

Heman East midlands. It is grey and windy here.
My tuna bake was really yummy. Quick and easy, so I'll remember that for the future.

ASDismynormality · 27/05/2017 19:13

MOIST. I've had some really heavy painful periods since starting low carb. Thankfully they have settled back down to light and painless.

ChesterDrawers · 27/05/2017 19:14

Just had chicken thighs with the skin on marinaded in the shawarma (sp???) recipe from upthread (sorry can't remember who posted it). They were lovely and the skin went lovely and crisp - and I have two left for tomorrow too if they make it through the evening Made coleslaw with loads of hm coleslaw and a huge green salad so have a very happy tummy.

Jimminy those family members sound awful, well done for rising above it. After reading around about LC I am astounded at the ignorance that exists. just keep thinking of how shocked they'll be when you glide down the aisle next year Grin

CodLiverOil556 · 27/05/2017 19:16

Had another good day here but had some really bad stomach cramps...turns out a really good fart cures that Blush

Had BBQ and smothered everything with olive oil (it's growing on me) even on my spinach.

It's been redders here in Germany so have managed to drink 4 litres of water and have still have dry mouth.

Can't believe it's been a week tomorrow, I already feel healthier

HemanOrSheRa · 27/05/2017 19:31

Ah. I'm in Bristol Captain. The cooler weather must be travelling up country.

It was me who posted the Shawarma recipe Chester. It's lovely isn't it? There are loads of LC recipes on the skinny taste websiteam. They just need tweaking to make them HF Smile.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 27/05/2017 19:39

I've also survived the BBQ unscathed - feel really chuffed. Ignored the crisps/buns/ice-cream/cake/booze and had lots of fizzy water, a few slices of cucumber and some turkey. I think it was easier because it wasn't at a normal mealtime so I wasn't actually that hungry.

Chicken bhuna with cauliflower rice tonight, followed by some Greek yoghurt and double cream.

explodingkittens · 27/05/2017 19:40

jiminny, your family members sound delightful Hmm, well done for walking away. I have to be honest and say I am quite snobby about WW and SW; I've never met anyone who has kept weight off on those diets and the crappy high-sugar food is just awful. You are in the right track so don't let them derail you.

ilove, glad you're feeling better, that sounds rotten.

So the low-carb menu went down really well last night, everyone was very complimentary about the food. The only thing that wasn't quite so successful was the Hemsley & Hemsley chocolate and fig tart, which was renamed the 'chocolate omelette' because of its consistency - they were kind enough to eat it though! There was a fair bit of prosecco drunk though so not strictly Bootcamp but pretty good nonetheless!

Today dp and I went out for lunch (and the theatre, dahling), which was fab. Crab with pickled cucumber to start, followed by hanger steak with a side dish of roasted broccoli with butter and capers and then a chocolate ganache with elderflower curd but it was very dark chocolate honest BIWI don't hit me

So it's not been a perfect Bootcamp weekend but I think it's been ok considering lots of social stuff. Tomorrow we are bbq-ing which will be fine, I think.

Also...have bought some almond milk to cut my tea carbs - it's a bit of an acquired taste but I do rather like it so yay, no more guilt about my tea intake.

Everyone is doing so well, KOKO losers!

ChesterDrawers · 27/05/2017 19:50

Heman it was lovely, thank you, even DS cleared his plate. Will have a browse on the website and see what else I can find.

On another note, I can't believe I've never thought of making tuna no-pasta bake before. That's on the list for a CBA tea one night.

ilovecherries · 27/05/2017 19:55

I'm feeling fine today, but I've deliberately eased up a little just in case it was my diet that had made me feel so ill yesterday. Not gone crazy but had some berries, a few cherry tomatoes, then a few nuts and a small amount of peanut butter on celery spread over the day. Breakfast was a poached egg on spinach with fried mushrooms on top and roasted tomatoes on the side
Lunch was FF yoghurt with the berries and a splash of cream, followed by half a dozen nuts, plus a celery stick with peanut butter
Dinner was chilli and soy salmon on buttered cauli 'rice' with asparagus and the ubiquitous squeaky beans, both roasted in butter.

I missed the coffee and tea out completely today so I wasn't adding any caffeine, so stuck to water plus a mug of bullion just in case my electrolytes needed a boost. I'm a bit disappointed I've had to ease off a little, but I feel I've done it on sensible things.

herecomesthsun · 27/05/2017 20:09

On the one hand, a few almonds and berries seem quite common in people's posts- and this isn't my first week.

On the other hand, the yoghurt/berries/nuts combo might be too carby and too calorific. It is very easy and delicious and has healthy ingredients, but maybe you can have too much of a good thing.

Most of the veg came tonight, trout with lots of broccoli, celeriac and a few bits of carrot.

We have avocado in the fridge but they are still a bit hard. I could get some celery in to have with cheese - or is hard cheese too carby?

There may well be a snack issue.

ilovecherries · 27/05/2017 20:17

I meant to ask though. If I'm having to add in a few more carbs, do I need to be cutting calories elsewhere? The liberation from calorie counting has been amazing, slightly depressing to think I may need to embrace it again.

HemanOrSheRa · 27/05/2017 20:30

I am glad you are feeling OK today ilove Smile.

Food for today:

Late breakfast: Tomato (half), mozzarella, avocado and marinated artichoke pieces with olive oil and basil. Two cups of tea with almond milk.

Dinner: Cheese and bacon burger in a bowl with a HM burger sauce.

No snacks. Yet. I was out this afternoon and really didn't feel hungry enough for any lunch. I had an iced coffee late afternoon.

Water: 3.5l.

It looks like the carbs you've added are still minimal ilove - just more like Bootcamp Light really - so at the moment I wouldn't bother about the calories. I must admit I've never counted a calorie in my life - i am a firm believer that it is the type of calorie that matters much, much more than the number of them.

I would say see how you go over the next week or so, but really even with the nuts and tomatoes etc you are still eating very low carb by 'normal' standards.

littlebillie · 27/05/2017 22:22

Interesting today I was at a party had meat etc and instead of having deserts I had a few berries and whipped cream. I couldn't eat more than a mouthful or two the cream was satisfying but I didn't get the sweet hit to keep on eating. It's made me realise how absolutely addictive sugar makes you eat more!

Veryflummoxed · 27/05/2017 22:33

The burger looks lovely.
Today I had
Egg muffins and dressed salad
Lunch ff total yogurt.
S cheese. A lot of cheese. way to much cheese.
D roast curried belly pork chunks dressed green salad.
All my water and tea.
First week nearly done.

styledilemma · 27/05/2017 22:44

I don't see how I will ever lose weight now I've discovered exploding babybells.
The first one I did puffed right up and tasted amazing, so I had to make another one three.
The others turned out flat but they still tasted nice. What's the trick to get them to puff up?
My mini milks made from almond milk, cream and vanilla essence also turned out great, so I ended up eating two. That's on top of my meal this evening.
so I have been a right pig this evening. on the bright side I did pig out on allowed foods.

I'm going to have to reign it in a bit aren't I?

Yorkshirebornandbred · 27/05/2017 22:47

For dinner I had a WHOLE pack of prawns in mayonnaise with a mountain of lettuce and cucumber and celery with caesar dressing - fairly low in carbs but i probably had too much of it. Still, it's the only slip up in the last few days.

I've had 1.5 l water ... need to drink more!

OldBooks · 27/05/2017 23:19

Ooof today was a disaster food wise. Had a 2 hour drive to meet my new nephew, left after breakfast. Turned into 6 hours due to being stuck in several traffic jams. DH had toffees which I ended up having too, ran out of water early on. Finally arrived and my DB put a wine spritzer in my hand, can't say I resisted! I knew DM would do a very carby spread and I had brought some lchf suitable chicken salad under guise of leftovers but in the carboot for 6 hours the ice pack was warm and I didn't trust it. So had onion bhaji, a samosa, and some cheese and lettuce at least. DM stresses me out so I ended up picking at crisps and biscuits. Tea was vegetable soup full of potatoes and dumplings (DM is east European). By the end of the day I felt nauseous and bloated and have a nasty headache, which at least gives me incentive not to eat too many carbs again as this isn't worth it!!

Oh well, KOKO tomorrow, need to put today behind me and get on.

Craftypuss · 28/05/2017 00:02

Just got back from a brilliant evening! We (DH, DD and her boyfriend, and I)went to a ceilidh at one of our local churches. Great fun, had more energy than I've had in ages and did - I think - every dance. My poor feet!
I was worried that the 'light supper' on offer would be the usual carb fest of sandwiches, quiche and sausage rolls. Well, it was, but there was also a great range of low carb stuff too - big bowls of green salad, veg sticks, cheese, meats and hard boiled eggs, mayonnaise... was too stuffed to even be bothered about puddings(another victory, I used to feel obliged to have some, even if I was full!) The best, for me, was that it was just part of the main buffet, not 'something special for the awkward ones', if you see what I mean.
Now relaxing with a creamy coffee, tired but happy.

notevenamum1 · 28/05/2017 01:03

Just demolished an entire punnet of raspberries. Am I going to LCHF hell?

Yorkshirebornandbred · 28/05/2017 02:29

I felt like I had really bad breath earlier so had a piece of chewing gum ... it's sugar free but obviously with sweeteners ... will that be a problem?

ShastaBeast · 28/05/2017 06:50

Struggled with drinking yesterday, especially as I had no tea or hot water.

B creamy coffee, pork crackling before the gym
L salad, tomato, mozzarella, sour vinegar gherkins
D duck breast, Savoy cabbage with bacon, cauliflower

18g Carbs, 84g Fat and 93g Protein. My lowest carb day so far but definitely not feeling deprived, quite the opposite. I am craving fruit, I'd love fresh raspberries in Greek yoghurt.

We will roast a chicken today so that will be a meal today at some point and probably finish it for another tomorrow. Need to do a shopping order and meal plan for next week.
