I feel I am eating loads more than others on this thread, but all very low carb and do feel like I have lost weight this week despite eating hugely more than I normally eat. According to mfp I started of eating just under 3000 calories but only around 25-30 carbs

B 4 egg omelette with 4oz cheese and either cucumber or mushrooms or I have just discovered these jars of courgettes in oil and peppers in oil that are only a out 1-2 carbs for a quarter of the jar

L. Which i have at around 3-4pm because I am so full from breakfast is my most carby
1/2 pot of soya yoghurt and 10 blackberries.

D 2 Quorn peppered steaks and 3-4 balls of frozen spinach done in the oven.

I have reduced the 4 egg omelette to 3 eggs and last night didn't have my L or D but had a small bowl of cubed cheese, cucumber and 1/4 jar of courgettes in oil.

Do feel I have lost weight so cant wait till Monday when I can get on the scales. I even feel slimmer around my enormous stomach so we shall wait and see.

A warning for anyone using ketostix- there's a reason BIWI doesn't recommend them! I've had a pot that I bought off Amazon a while ago and they NEVER go pink. I though it was fair enough because I was bootcamping extremely light. Anyway this last week I've been away and bought a new lot from Boots and they are deep purple consistently- back home the old lot are still a depressing beige tone.
Not sure if they were a dodgy batch, or out of date. Anyway I've chucked them, it's worth the extra few quid to get ones that do the job!

Oof. I have been to Costco aka The 100 Pound Store. As I have never been there and spent less than £100!

I have bought a huge tray of pork belly slices, chicken breasts, beef burgers and also a great big piece of rump steak for tomorrow. I was going to get sirloin/ribeye but they were MASSIVE Confused. I think I'll searing it, blast it in a hot oven, rest it then slice it thinly. Yum! I also picked up a litre bottle of tuscan extra virgin olive oil.

I'm finding I am really not hungry today. I've only had a plate of tomato, mozzarella, avocado and marinated artichoke pieces with olive oil. Does that matter? If I eat now it'll be for the sake of it. I do have plenty of LC food to grab if I do get peckish so I can make good choices rather than panicking and grabbing crap stuff.

Have had minimal blip around DS's 9th birthday and subsequent birthday party. Otherwise am eating few carbs. Am managing to increase the water intake day by day.

Whinge approaching

I have shocking period pain. Bleeding like I'm having a PPH. I am knackered after not 😴 MH well all week, I am working nights, we are so short staffed it will be hideous. I'm tired. My breath is nasty. I'm tired and grumpy.

What should I have for middle of the night dinner?

Good day today - managing to hold off the carb temptations of the family visit!

B - ff yoghurt
L - salmon and mozzarella salad
D - tuna and cauliflower cheese bake

The bowel discussion upthread was interesting. I also find that a LCHF diet gives me much less noxious poos and no wind. I was a strict vegetarian for many years and used to have terrible ibs symptoms. As soon as I started to eat fish/meat again and switched to lower carb, those symptoms disappeared. It's one thing which makes me reluctant to cheat as I know I'll pay the price with stomach ache and bloating.

If I'm out for a special meal I'm more inclined to cheat with a cheesecake or chocolate mousse now to minimise the sugar/carbs and up the fat.

Strange metallic taste in my mouth, hoping that's ketosis? I get really confused about what to eat, really helpful to see everyone's meal plans. GetReady Def going to try the portobello pizza, looks delish
B: 2 boiled eggs mashed with butter
L: Green salad with bacon and mayo
D: Waitrose Aberdeen Angus quarter pounder (2.1g carbs) with green salad, cherry tomatoes, smoked cheese and mayo
S: 20g cheese

2 black coffees, 3 teas with soya milk, 2l water. Still finding having enough water hard. Much more than I usually have though!
Haven't weighed yet, but feeling less bloated. Hopeful for Monday.

B cream coffee
L egg mashed with butter. Celery
Snack Gouda slice
Now - more cream coffee as not remotely hungry but need something before work.
Midnight Lunch/snacks - celery, cheese, olives, avocado,
4am Dinner/breakfast griddles asparagus, aubergine and mushroom liberally doused in butter.

Looks a lot but then I'll not eat until tomorrow midnight.

Amazing looking food ... it's very interesting to read what everyone's eating.

I slept badly last night due to back/shoulder pain again so feeling tired and grumpy!

Breakfast was egg mayonnaise made with two eggs, lunch was bacon, egg and 97%meat sausages all fried in butter. Not sure what dinner will be .. am at in laws watching fa cup but have brought cold fried bacon and the rest of the sausages with me so I won't be tempted by pizza and crap. I'll make sure I have some salad when I get home as I'm very conscious of the lack of vegetables.

I had two small iced coffees made with a little soya milk, decaf espresso and lots of ice ... it's a game changer Smile ... feels like a real treat!

secret the metallic taste is def ketosis. It will go. Keep up with the water. It helps.

The reason that BIWI does not advise keto sticks, is that you should be drinking so much water that it dilutes the ketones, so wasting your money.

Yorkshire - I've no idea! I just bought them, grilled them, filled with toppings and ate them! They are so filling for relatively little calories (all calls are in the cheese and mayo!)

Ooo also I bought some of the crackling crisps from M&S yesterday & the last one I pulled out of the packet had a bit of melted plastic right through the middle of it!

Don't eat the whole lot in one sitting which is what I did today.
We had a long car journery, so I thought I would be clever and stave off any hunger by taking along:
Crackling Crisps
Babybels
Pepperamis
Boiled eggs.

About 3 hours in of munching on all that lot I felt thoroughly sick. I think there was too much fat and not enough vegetables/salad.
There was nothing to 'soak' it up and I could feel it all sloshing around in my stomach. All the water didn't help.

I won't be doing that again. I know now that I need to include some roughage at each meal, even if it's only some lettuce or cucumber.

Still, I survived to tell the tale.
I'm still on it.
and We are on Day 7 tomorrow! I can't believe we've almost done a WHOLE WEEK.

I though it was my vitamin pill, but I didn't take one today.

What with the psychedelic water works and the funny taste I've had in my mouth all day, I think I am definitely in the ketosis stage.

Oooh I've started a trend Yorkshire Grin. I bought a vanilla flavoured instant coffee in Sainsburys this afternoon. It makes a delicious iced coffee with just a touch of sweetness from the vanilla.

That looks good - the coffees are delicious!

Tried to buy the powder vanilla pods, but couldn't get them anywhere. Would it be ok to use a smidgen of pure vanilla extract instead? (For yoghurts... and maybe coffees?)

JiminnyCricket those women are horrible. They are actively trying to sabotage you, especially as you have done so well so far.

This is why I haven't told anyone that I'm low carbing. I know that as soon asI do, the sabotaging and even worse, fake concern will start.

So today

  • 3 boiled eggs with mayo for breakfast
-chicken breast with mushrooms fried in butter for lunch -greek yoghurt with a few raspberries and some almond slivers for snacks -coffee with almond milk (a few)

Ok, so the weather has taken a turn for the worse here, so no BBQ. We haven't got much food in as the shopping is due to be delivered tomorrow morning. So, DH wanted fish and chips. Hmm Luckily, I'm not a great fan anyway, so I sent him off to get it for him and the DC. I have chucked some tinned tuna, broccoli, cream and grated cheese into the oven and will call it a tuna bake. Grin

Today food has been:
B: creamy coffee x2
L: cream cheese panic with cream cheese and smoked salmon and green salad with dressing
D: tuna bake
S: hm chorizo crisps and cream cheese, iced coffee.

Think I may have overdone the dairy today. Will need to pull back tomorrow.
