Just marking my place! Off to catch up with the new thread. Thanks Ada
Smile

Oh! And I know I said I wasn't going to weigh myself but I jumped on the scales earlier just for some reassurance really. My scales are the old fashioned type, not digital, so it's not completely accurate but I have lost weight! The pointer is closer to 13st 7 than the 14st mark which is good enough for me Smile. I reckon I've lost roughly 4lbs. My tummy, although still big, is not bloated big IYKWIM which means I can hold it in a bit and my posture is better. Clothes are definitely looser around that area too. Yay!

StuntNun · 27/05/2017 11:15

Jiminny it's shocking how people think they're entitled to a say in what you eat isn't it. Imagine if you had diabetes, those comments would be downright dangerous. I hate this idea that being overweight is some kind of moral failing and if we just tried a bit harder (aka eat less move more) then we would all be slim and healthy. I honestly think some people feel personally offended, someone trying to eat well reflects on to their own diet somehow. My MIL and her SIL staged an "intervention" when I reached my ideal weight to tell me that I had to stop because I was getting too thin. I had to laugh because my percentage body fat at that point was around 23%, a hell of a long way from being dangerous. You're right, it is like bullying and you just have to rise above it.

Lovely it happens to everyone at some point. The most important thing is how you react to falling off the wagon. Get straight back on, as you plan to, and use this as a learning opportunity.

On the topic of SW and foods made of ingredients, when I was in hospital after having DS4 I was brought a sugar-free jelly. No calories at all - what is the point of eating that?

ASDismynormality · 27/05/2017 11:36

jiminny they are jealous, they can see you are losing weight and want to sabotage you so they can say 'I told you so'. Remember this WOE works for you but what they are doing doesn't work for them.

Lanaa · 27/05/2017 11:42

Can I join please. Low carb really works for me. I actually need to lose a ridiculous amount of weight. I'm ashamed but I hope I can find and offer some support to be consistent here. Off to read the last thread now.

Veryflummoxed · 27/05/2017 11:57

Jim well done for not reacting. They must be able they see how well you've done. People are so strange though. I had someone who lost a phenomenal amount of weight following a gastric by pass, tell me not to loose too much as it didn't suit me. She's like a stick and I've got three stone to go Confused

Lanaa welcome. And there is nothing to be ashamed of.

wombattoo · 27/05/2017 12:20

Hello everyone
I wasn't around yesterday but I have caught up with the thread.
ilove I am pleased to hear that you are feeling better.

wombattoo · 27/05/2017 12:25

Flisspaps and Mandelinka I have added you to the spreadsheet. You haven't posted your weights, so it's just your names. Smile

AdalindSchade · 27/05/2017 12:51

After my carby dinner I woke up starving and needing to do a massive fart Blush
Low carb feels so much better for the digestive system.

Coconut bread is currently in the oven Grin I whisked the egg whites to see if it rises better, I'll let you know Smile

I had the best lunch: cream cheese pancakes with bacon and carb free maple syrup. Bit of a treat and yummy. If you get the battle in loads of butter it's less eggy Grin

ShastaBeast · 27/05/2017 13:19

I know I was told off for my fruit etc but I do think starting more gently is a good thing. I've had no side effects/withdrawal/irresistible cravings etc. I built up over two or three weeks before we started on Monday. And sometime calorie tracking is helpful to ensure we have enough- I've had a few days struggling to eat enough calories as I'm more full. I've had to drink cream to get up to 1200 calories which is the minimum.

Weigh in tomorrow. Hit the gym this morning as it's half term and I'm unlikely to make it :(

Breakfast of pork crackling and creamy coffee.

I'm home alone today and looking forward to raiding the fridge. Such a yummy diet.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 27/05/2017 13:36

Jiminny well done for ignoring them. It's so hard when people are commenting on what you are eating/drinking and trying to get you to veer off course. I had a number of comments yesterday about how a lick or two of ice-cream wouldn't do any harm, etc etc. Just said thanks but no thanks.

Late breakfast this morning, more like brunch really, of bacon, sausage, egg and mushroom (all fried in butter) with fresh tomatoes and a creamy coffee.

Going to a BBQ this afternoon and don't intend to have very much - will wait for dinner when I get home.

Can I be on spreadsheet too please started 20 April 11 stone 6. Now 10 stone 9.

GetReady · 27/05/2017 14:05

TheWay... that's looks so good!

I made portobello pizzas for lunch - quick and easy and yummy!

GL to everyone over the (dry, sob, sob, sob) weekend) esp those struggling with bloody life :-(

Coconut bread results:

Meh.

It's a bit eggy, but the worst thing is it's ever so slightly grainy and dry in the mouth. That's improved by butter, but yeah it's not great. Sad

Jimin... I think you've just ruined EVERYONE'S weekend! 😂😂😂😂

CaptainBraandPants · 27/05/2017 14:21

Some lovely looking lunches here.
Lanaa welcome.
Jiminny I'm going to stick with the flax bread, much less eggy.

I also had the cream cheese pancakes for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised. I had it with smoked salmon, more cream cheese and a green salad. Was really lovely. It did taste noticeably different to an omelette.
As long as it doesn't rain, we are planning a BBQ tonight. Sausages, burgers and halloumi with a big salad. Grin Can't wait.
Might treat myself to another iced coffee this afternoon as well.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 27/05/2017 14:24

So yesterday I had:

B - Total FF Yoghurt, 2 coffees
S - Coffee (unexpected)
L - Parma ham, spinach, pepper, cucumber, olive oil, and basil; and yoghurt, plus coffee
S - Cheese

Dinner was going to be something akin to broccoli and cauliflower cheese, but DP once again got caught up in a drinking session and didn't get back until late with half the ingredients, so I had some salami and yoghurt (I think, there was something else there...) I then had a small whisky with him as he won't be able to drink (with me, at any rate, suspect there's been some drinking gone on with his drinking buddy today) til next weekend, and I had been planning one drink this weekend but hate drinking on my own.

I justified it by the fact I'd cycled to and from work, for the first time getting up all the hills on the way (tbf they're very small hills, but my lungs have always given up at the mere sight of them before!) so I was chuffed! I did stop a couple of times, but I didn't walk one step until the final driveway yesterday. Have come in today and done the same, expect I kept going dor the drive. Time will tell if I manage the "horrendous" (to me) hill on the way home, though.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 27/05/2017 14:25

Out of interest, is it just me who is horrified by how much rubbish others eat? The pile of biscuits and crisps has got through in the last few days is astonishing, and that's without knowing how much he consumes at work. He's active, and not that fat, yet, but I fear he's suddenly going to explode!

PlymouthMaid1 · 27/05/2017 14:33

Yes and I am often puzzled by how I am three stone, at least, overweight when I eat pretty healthily and v rarely have crisps, biscuits, cake, ice cream and sweets.

ilovecherries · 27/05/2017 14:38

Ha, I managed to put on 5 stone without eating any junk. True, I was drinking wine, but other than that I was doing the full McCoy low fat, including one-cal cooking sprays and bloody egg white omelettes. I got fat eating 'good' carbs without any help at all from junk.

AvaCrowder2 · 27/05/2017 14:41

I've finally caught up reading the threads. What a lot of posts.

I only started properly yesterday so will do two weeks from then strictly.

Yesterday I had

B: eggs, bacon and spinach cooked in butter and olive oil. I think I could have have a bigger portion.
L: steak, asparagus and courgette in cafe de Paris butter, that was amazing.
D: cheese and crudites, a bit of hummus.

I drank enough water and slept really well.
I feel alright today. I wasn't expecting to because one of my reasons for trying bc is to get me through giving up smoking without a big weight gain or wrecking my teeth with sweets.

My carb/nicotine flu has potential to be awful.

SayrraT · 27/05/2017 14:55

I've been for my bridesmaid dress fitting and I was a variety of measurements between 16 (hips) and 22 (boobs). I've ordered a 22 as my boobs tend not to shrink too much. Also everyone looked skeptical when I said I'd lose weight by April, the woman said that they can be taken in a lot. The style is simple so not difficult to take in.

The skeptical looks have made me determined to be slim by April Grin

Duckiesprettycrazy · 27/05/2017 15:06

Wow, I joined on Thursday weighing 11st 2 - so yesterday was my first day. Just hopped on the scales and I am just under 11st! I'm motivating myself by imagining the end of boot camp, telling everyone how I've lost 2 stone Smile
