So our last week! Here's the Spreadsheet for its penultimate outing

One more week could see another couple of pounds off.

Fingers crossed, and good luck! Flowers

Morning all, just catching up.
Had a bit of a blip on Sunday/ Monday, as I was feeling a bit under the weather.
All cylinders firing again now though.
I went for a run last night, however, and it felt like I had two left feet. Even by the end of the run, I still felt very uncoordinated. So, I fell over. Twice. Blush Now have fairly impressive grazes/ bruises on one elbow, both knees and both palms.
Not anywhere as bad as a broken leg though. Flowers for you Nekobus
bella tbh, I always have a bad taste in my mouth. Worst first thing in the morning before I have a drink. As long as I drink plenty, it is bearable. Good incentive to drink water, I guess.

Today's food is:
B: 2 x creamy coffee
L: stuffed cabbage casserole
D: butter chicken with cauli rice

I haven't weighed myself since Saturday. I am going to try not to weigh until the start of next bootcamp, then weigh on day 1 and then try to not weigh for as long as possible. I will see if I have the will power to not weigh until the end! I suspect not, but if I can last a month, I think it will help me psychologically
My new size 12 trousers are at the post office waiting to be picked up. I know they'll be too tight, but they are my less glamorous equivalent of dust's ballgown. Grin

Is it normal to stop losing at all for a while? I'm in the middle of week four and after loosing 3lb in week two I haven't budged. I'm eating some fruit but will give the proper bookcamp a go when it starts. I'm tracking my diet and actual calories are low enough (1200-1400) but I'm not hungry. I've lost quite easily on similar calorie target diets but low fat, so it's frustrating. Is weightloss slower on LCHF diets? Or more erratic?

ragz134 · 10/05/2017 12:44

Playing around with MFP, I realised I have been using it on and off since 2011. This graph shows had my weight has changed during that time, with periods of weight loss, then gaps where I obviously gave up and it went up. The most depressing part was seeing I had got down to 160lbs at one point, but I don't remember feeling that slim, that's 24lbs lighter than I am at the moment!

You can clearly see every time I lost weight, I regained more. NOT THIS TIME! Low carb for life. It is the only way I can see to break this cycle.

JiminnyCricket · 10/05/2017 12:48

ShastaBeast totally normal to not lose one week after a big loss the week before :)

Especially with LCHF lifestyles, yu tend to float around the sake numbers for a few weeks then get a "whoosh" where you'll drop 3-4lbs or so seemingly overnight.

I did this last week. I went from 17st 1lbish for 3 weeks down to 16st 8lbs all of a sudden Grin I was really bad with food last week but managed to maintain 16st 8lbs this week, so it wasn't a flook.

I'm toying with the idea of doing the whole of the next bootcamp without weighing myself, but i'm a bit scared of undoing the weight loss I've managed so far and ending up totally off track or something :/

JiminnyCricket · 10/05/2017 12:50

Oh and also, low carb high fat diets are about 30% more effective for weight loss than low fat diets.

Here;'s 23 clinical studies that prove it ;)

ASDismynormality · 10/05/2017 13:07

jiminny. Well done for sticking to the plan, as has already been said feel pity for them!

I have had a reply from the course head office and of course I am right. I will show the course leader the reply next week but I just know she will say 'that's the advice we would give for a healthy person, my advice is for someone with pre-diabetes' head tilt, pitting look due to my lack of understanding. Angry

ASDismynormality · 10/05/2017 13:13

ShastaBeast. My weight didn't change week 3/4 then started coming off again. This week I am around the same as last Sonora happeneding again but I know if I keep on it will start dropping.

ASDismynormality · 10/05/2017 13:13

'Same as last week' I meant

CaptainBraandPants · 10/05/2017 15:20

ragz My MFP graph looks very similar. I'll join you in vowing that it's not going to happen again and the cycle is well and truly broken.
Shasta that's why I have decided to try and stop weighing. My weight stays the same, even though my clothes feel looser and then I have a whoosh.
ASD she sounds very frustrating. I think you should offer to take over the class, I'm sure you'd do a better job.

I've picked up my new size 12 trousers. I fit into them. I can even do up the zip and button. Can't move, bend or breathe in them, but who needs to do that. Grin My aim is to be able to wear them for work by the end of the next BC.

ragz134 · 10/05/2017 15:31

Captain - congratulations on the size 12! I have taken a photo of me in my tight 14s and will try them on weekly, with a photo, to see how I slim into them.
Sent my progress photos to my sister and SIL who were very impressed. SIL is going to low carb forms month before her wedding. Sister is already LC with me and lost over a stone so far. I'm spreading the LC jogly folks...

ragz134 · 10/05/2017 15:32

Urgh, typos! For a month. Joy.

nekobus · 10/05/2017 16:02

Nice work captain on the size 12s. That's my ultimate goal - size 12 by the beginning of August for a wedding where I will see lots of old friends.

Ragz maybe I could manage some clothed progress pics! And we'll done on the recruitment to LC!! And here's my chart over last few years. I think the initial stone and half was easier, but depressing to know I'm a stone heavier than my lowest back in June-16. Gah what a waste of all that effort!!!

nekobus · 10/05/2017 16:02

Hello everyone
Shasta weeks 3-5 can be notorious for weight stalls. Hang on in there. If you are sticking to the rules, the loss will start again.

Many of you have been inspirational on this bc. Some great losses and determination of steel Grin Star

ragz134 · 10/05/2017 17:11

I decided there's actually nothing offensive about me in my underwear - no different to adverts with women in bikinis, right? (Apologies if these disgust you!) So, being brave, here's my progress this year so far. Gone from a size 16/18 to 14/16. My
16s are too big now but 14s not quite fitting. I'm 5'10" so although I have lost almost 2 stone it was quite spread out and doesn't dramatically reduce clothing size.

ShastaBeast · 10/05/2017 17:34

Wow rags that's a huge difference. It's a big step taking pics. I have some strange headless shots from the start of week two attached to MyFitnessPal.

I'm glad it's not just me with the stalled weight loss. Is it part of the science behind it? I know slower is better long term. My body's just refusing to respond. I'm not deliberately eating low calorie but it's harder to snack eating this way which reduces temptation. I also don't have as much weight to lose this time and it feels like it fell off then before slowing as I got closer to target.

SayrraT · 10/05/2017 17:48

Fab progress ragz look at your waist Shock

ragz134 · 10/05/2017 18:02

Shasta - this is my last two months, you can see how long I stalled for!
The science is that you are losing fat but fat cells refill with water as they anticipate more fat being stored, then eventually they give up and let it go and you lose again.

ragz134 · 10/05/2017 18:04

Helps if I add the image...

Sayrra - I know, I have a waist! Such a nice feeling. Now, if the back fat would shift that'd be great...

Great photos ragz! And you can really see the difference on your waist! Well done

Kleptronic · 10/05/2017 18:41

Good on you ragz!

ShastaBeast · 10/05/2017 18:55

Ah thanks for the explanation, it makes sense and tallies with the feeling my body isn't letting go. Your chart really shows this, a dramatic and steady drop after six weeks stalling.

It's frustrating but I'm enjoying eating this way so don't feel an urge to give up. Although I have a birthday party this weekend and would like a piece of cake etc, would a day off dent things much if I don't over do it too much?

Is there a good shopping list on the threads somewhere? I need to do a big shop and stock up on the best food for starting the strict boot camp. I'd like my husband to join me as he has a terrible diet, he's cooked for me happily and then loads up on toast with jam, cookies or chocolate - total sugar addict.

thenightsky · 10/05/2017 18:59

I found I was hoiking my jeans up this morning. They were all baggy on the bum too. Had a rifle through my 'stuff that is too small' boxes on the top of the wardrobe and found a size smaller that I've not worn for at least 2 years. They fit like a glove now! Smile

PissPotPourri · 10/05/2017 20:57

Ragz and night sky those are two very positive posts! Well done the pair of you. I love the later stages of a diet, when people are noticing and you star to remember your body shape and rediscover old clothes. Well deserved rewards, for sure.
