Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Setting this up early this week, as I have a stupid o'clock start tomorrow, and I know I'll forget!

Hope all has gone well this week.

We have three weeks left, so still time to see a significant loss on the scales.

Here's to a good week for us all

Some great losses. Well done everyone Thanks

BursarsFrogs · 28/03/2017 05:48

Well done for all the losses and for KOKO!

I lost a bit less than a pound this week. It would've been more, had it not been for a boozy Sunday, I think.

Thanks re. recommendations about DH and his pre-diabetes in the last thread. Annoyingly he's not at all interested in reading up about this, but doesn't mind me going on about things. Since lunch and snacks at work are his biggest downfall, he's decided to make an effort to take lunch and some non-crappy snacks with him. I'm usually the one who cooks anyway, and he likes the low carb food I make.

LazydaysofSummer · 28/03/2017 09:29

Another couple of pound off for me, which is brilliant, it does make it worth the effort when you see the numbers dropping.
well done everyone for sticking with this.

nekobus · 28/03/2017 12:22

Marking place on new thread. I've been away for a few days, no major disasters but found it hard to stick to BC completely. Back on it from yesterday.

Patapouf · 28/03/2017 17:17

1.4 off for me this week, making 20lbs overall. I'd definitely seen lower on the scales before the weekend but I'm pleased because AF is back and I can blame it on that. I'd like to lose another 8lbs over the next three weeks but this is a loose target and would just make it a nice round 2 stones on BC!

wombattoo · 28/03/2017 19:47

Wow Patapouf That is amazing. Congratulations

BIWI · 28/03/2017 20:30

well my beer retention weigh in from last week was all gone. According to scales 8lb loss, but averaged out to about 1lb a week from January 1st. Swing between 2lb gain\loss on start of week, then around Friday Saturday its a new low number.

Hoping now the warmer ( above freezing) weather has arrived here. The 20km ride a day will help. Polar heart rate reckons its about a 1,000 calorie usage so fingers crossed should lose the next 14lb before the May trip over to Portugal.

Have fun folks and all those worrying about a pound remember it's only a glass of water rushing thru the blood stream cleaning out the toxins.

KOKO

SylviasDaughter · 28/03/2017 21:46

1lb off for me. Not been near a computer to update the spreadsheet sorry. I succumbed to chips at the weekend, but pretty pleased overall.

ASDismynormality · 29/03/2017 08:06

Thanks Captain for recommending weight diary, it's now my favourite weight tracking app! I track my weight in about 4 different places now/

Hesdeadjim · 29/03/2017 09:06

Can you guys knock some sense into me please?

I'm really really down about things at the moment and can't get my head straight.

I've lost 18lbs during bootcamp which is obviously great, but the last 3 weeks have been awful and I've only lost 5lbs in the last 30 days :( I'm 17st 2lbs, I should be losing much quicker than that especially on low carb, so I don't know whether I've plateaued or something?

Argh. Help :(

ASDismynormality · 29/03/2017 09:42

Hedead, you've done really well so far. Have you tried cutting dairy, that really helped me.

Kleptronic · 29/03/2017 09:47

Now then Hesdead you know plateaus are a part of the process. There are no 'shoulds' with bodies. I'd be chuffed to have lost 5lb in 30 days, I am well jealous! Trust the process, this is a continuum, not a linear sprint.

You could be losing fat and gaining muscle, you exercise a lot, yeah?
You might need to tweak your macros, have you put your new (almost a stone and a half, almost!) stats into a macro generator?
You could drop some protein, up your fats and drink Even More Water. And More Veg.
If you feel utterly stalled, you could try a 3 day egg fast?

I am not an expert at this, but I stall like a bastard. And I keep on keeping on. And it's working. Someone more clued up that me will be along in a bit - in the meantime, try to celebrate your loss, not fret about the future. You've done SO well. Flowers

SayrraT · 29/03/2017 11:32

So jim you are saying you've lost on average 3lbs per week since the beginning of February? How much were you expecting to lose? Be realistic? This is an excellent method of weight loss as you know but it's not a magic solution that means you will lose X amount every week until you reach your goal.

As others have said weight loss is not linear and you have to expect gains and plateaus sometimes however unfair it feels.

Would you be better off on another eating plan? Would you have lost more? Would you have stuck to it? Would you enjoy the food?

I've plotted your weights from the spreadsheet, it looks great to me!

LazydaysofSummer · 29/03/2017 11:34

Hesdead I had a three week period where despite eating less each week I either stayed the same and even put on 1lb one week, so over three weeks I was 1lb up!
On advice from those in the know, BIWI and Stuntnun I made a conscious effort to include more fat in my diet and the last two weeks are showing a loss.
It is soooo much easier to stay motivated when you see the numbers dropping but you've done brilliantly so far, treat yourself to a nice steak, with shallots, mushrooms and lots of double cream, served with asparagus, and other allowed veg, knowing it's doing you good really makes this WOE do-able.

Hesdeadjim · 29/03/2017 13:32

Thanks guys, I just realised QF is due which might account for the bad mood! Blush

Veryflummoxed · 29/03/2017 13:33

Hesdead your weight loss has been astonishingly good. I remember your first post, you had zero confidence that this could work. You've stuck to it, you've enjoyed your food (and those pictures were so appetising) you've lost and your posts are very interesting. KOKO and you can't go wrong.

Deep breath and confession. I have fallen right off the wagon this week. Have been unwell with coughs and colds and that sort of thing for weeks now, still have a horrible cough that interrupts my sleep and I'm feeling very sorry for myself. Was just intending to slope off but decided that would not be helpful to me. So i'm still here and thinking about what I'm doing. Sad

Veryflummoxed · 29/03/2017 13:34

And very well done all you losers.

mrwalkensir · 29/03/2017 15:37

Just signing in here- no weight change after rather random dietary weeks, so pretty happy. Koko

wombattoo · 29/03/2017 16:33

Very I am glad you are still here. I think many of us have had weeks where we have struggled for one reason or another. Stick with it and it will all slot back into place Thanks

Hesdead I hope you are feeling a bit better. You have done amazingly well and it would be a shame to throw it away now. From your posts, you seem to have enjoyed what you have been eating. Has there ever been another woe/diet that you have enjoyed so much? Keep the faith and the weight will start to drop again. Thanks

Kleptronic · 29/03/2017 16:33

Aw Very don't be downhearted, you've not been well. Stay with us, keep on keeping on, when you're ready, of course Flowers

Patapouf · 29/03/2017 18:39

Thank you Grin

I had a bit of a fuck it sabotage thing last night. I ate a couple of Percy pigs and then thought fuck it I might as well have a handful of haribo too. And I've just eaten 4 dark Lindor waiting for dinner to cook.

I clearly still link treat food with a reward and illogically rewarded my weight loss with shite food.
I'm hoping I can scare myself back on the straight and narrow because I have been feeling generally very positive and I've a long way still to go. I didn't even enjoy the poxy sweets so I just can't have them in the house at all.

Patapouf · 29/03/2017 18:42

jim YY to what everyone else has said, you absolutely need to stick at it. I get really demotivated when the rate of weight loss slows but I try and reassure myself it's actually fat I'm losing and a 1b, although a drop in the ocean of what I need to shed, is bloody loads.

BIWI · 29/03/2017 19:34

Sorry you're feeling down, @Hesdeadjim Sad

You've done bloody well, but you know that!

However, you have started to try and do things differently - taking control for yourself, which is obviously fabulous, but I wonder if this has led to you slipping a little off the wagon?

Can you, hand on heart, say you've been following Bootcamp/Bootcamp Light rules to the letter?

Carb creep is a real possibility - for all of us - so it might be worth just writing out for me what you've been eating and drinking over the last few days, to see if there's anything obvious I can help you with.

But I should say - 5lbs in 30 days is still good progress. I know it must feel slow, especially as you feel you have a long way to go, but it's all moving downwards!

StuntNun · 29/03/2017 20:00

Hesdead you haven't plateaued, your weight loss is normal, you are losing weight at a typical weight for this way of eating. If you are really worried or feel that you need to do something then I recommend listing your food and drink out in detail here for three days. If you can be bothered with weighing and measuring then you could record it in My Fitness Pal so we can see your calories and macros. But you don't need to do this if you don't want to. Your weight loss so far is normal for someone of your starting weight on this way of eating. I am a low carb diet coach by profession and I see a lot of weight loss graphs. You are doing really well and if you were one of my customers I would be happy with your progress. Keep your chin up and KOKO. Onwards and downwards!
