Sorry guys - I was up and out of the house really early this morning, and then on a train to the Midlands with a shed-load of work to do. I completely forgot it was Monday, truth to tell! Blush

You've probably already used the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness, but just in case, here's the link!

I hope all is going well. I'm guessing it's getting tricker as the Christmas parties start, but hope you can make it to the end!

fee just a warning that many on bc have found that their tolerance for alcohol is a lot lower speaks from bitter experience but have a nice time. Xmas Grin

Ooo is anyone weilding a big stick? I need to be put back in line.

Last night I had red wine and to day in an awkward lunch situation I had a Macdonald's meal today. I don't even like them. Not only that but I have just washed it down with a handful of smarties. Why does one fail lead so easily to another?

Hit away, please!

wombattoo · 08/12/2016 18:52

Margaritas only BIWI has the big stick, but I can help with a kick up the arse Grin
C'mon, it's the last 2 weeks. You know you can do it.

On a serious note, be careful that you don't get that 'to hell with it' mentality. It happens to me easily once I lose control and it can be hard to get back into gear. Tomorrow is a new day

margaritasbythesea · 08/12/2016 20:17

The smarties were definitely a 'to hell with it' moment. Thanks for the talking to. The cheeseburger couldn't be helped though. I am in general eating too many nuts (still) and cheese though. Next bootcamp I will do a lot more menu planning.

I think I may be going into peri-menpause. Nothing is shifting off my waist, everything is shifting off my boobs and bum. I am feeling a bit down about it. I always liked my waist and slightly curvy figure. I am much more straight up and down now. A new me and I am sure I look ok but not the me I am used to.

BIWI · 08/12/2016 21:05

Just be careful with the sweets! I had a memorable lapse, and ate a load of Haribo-type sweets on a car journey once, and they gave me the most horrendous diarrhoea. I had no idea that so much sugar could do that to you.

(And they were genuine full sugar ones, not ones with polyols which are known to have a laxative effect!)

Did my lunch with no eating of the carby delights.
Really enjoyed my crustless quiche and Stilton, half a dozen nuts (my first since May so delicious) and black coffee. Plus. Three people commented that Ive lost weight. I love LCHF.

Tinypearldragon · 08/12/2016 22:43

Time for bed I think

I need some advice; I have my work Xmas meal on Saturday and I have given myself permission to completely eat what I want (there will be churros and dolce du leche) and I will accept the consequences! Grin

So what should I eat before and after? Should I LCHF on Saturday during the day? Or just low cal because there will be carbs in the evening? And would it be a good idea to have a fast day on Sunday?

TIA

SayrraT · 09/12/2016 18:11

If you've decided to just have what you want for that meal then stick with that. Yes LCHF during the day and get back on track ASAP!

You will likely get cravings the next day which you need to ignore! Plan some nice LC meals so that you are prepared and have your favourite LC snacks to hand as well.

I've decided this year, since I've just started back LCing, that I'm sticking to LCHF as much as I can even on nights out.

MothershipG · 09/12/2016 18:24

Thanks Sayrra, I've actually got 2 more Xmas meals out next week that I plan to stay pretty much LCHF for but decided I needed just one splurge in the run up to Christmas so I didn't feel too hard done by.

I've got 1 more stone to lose and despite being really strict the weight loss has practically ground to a halt, feeling very discouraged.

margaritasbythesea · 09/12/2016 19:21

Well if it's any help I was expecting to be very hungry today after my carb fest yesterday but it has in fact been pretty easy to get back in track (even though Ds dug out my favourite ice cream from the back of the freezer after dinner and sat at the table chuntering on about how delicious it was).

wombattoo · 09/12/2016 19:45

Mothership - don't get too down hearted. We all have those phases. There is a theory that a carb refeed can sometimes help long term low carbers but I don't know enough about it to advise. You could google and see what comes up?

MothershipG · 09/12/2016 21:26

That's interesting Wombatto and actually seems to fit with my experience. Of to google...

MothershipG · 09/12/2016 21:28

Off to google, I meant off, ffs - just enjoying all the fffffffffs

wombattoo · 09/12/2016 22:03

Hope you found something useful. I'll check in tomorrow

PippilottaViktualia · 10/12/2016 08:00

Just checking / weighing in today because I'm going to a land rig in the morning which has had a blowout so is a mobile free zone and I should be still there on Monday...

Anyway, Texas is treating me well with lchf and I've lost 3lbs Xmas Smile

Enjoy your Christmas parties! Mothership I had a massive stall, like for months but I'm back to losing again now. I don't have that much to lose now and I think that's a 'thing' when there's not much left to have the stalls. I find keeping protein lower and fat nice and high helps.

Good luck for Monday's weigh in everyone Xmas Smile

Tinypearldragon · 10/12/2016 09:16

I would be very grateful for your advice: What do you drink when you go to the pub? A friend is having birthday drinks - I am more than happy not to drink alcohol, but wondered what is a good lc alternative. TIA!

MothershipG · 10/12/2016 09:57

Well as of this morning I got below 10st! Yeah!

Having found a couple of articles about carb refeeding it suggests that long term L/C can mean that leptin levels decline which inhibits weight loss. So maybe tonight won't do too much damage...

...fingers crossed!

wombattoo · 10/12/2016 14:22

That's good Mothership. You don't need a refeed.

Tiny Vodka and soda is the lowest in carbs, or you could have gin/tonic or a dry wine. Have a good time but remember that your alcohol tolerance is likely to be lower than it was. Wine

wombattoo · 10/12/2016 14:26

And well done Pip You have done incredibly well with lc.

SeasideRock · 10/12/2016 18:53

Whee! Have just managed to get into a pair out trousers that have been FAR TOO SMALL since I bought them!! Love lchf. Well done all.

Tinypearldragon · 10/12/2016 21:00

Thank you Wombat - I am still in the early stages of LC-ing, so I think I will just go for a SL tonic and leave the vodka/gin for now - the potential for serious de-railing is too high.......

Mothership Pip and Seaside - it really is so great to hear that this woe really is doing the business! Smile

wombattoo · 11/12/2016 03:04

Tiny - if you are in the early stages, then I would recommend soda water over tonic , if you can stand it. Tonic has sweeteners which can easily cause a derail. There is nothing in soda water. This way of eating is all about planning. You have choices so you can make your own decisions. Forewarned is forearmed.
