Hi, just wondering (and I know this is beyond basic) how I add my name and starting weight to the spreadsheet. I know I am not doing something but can't work out what! Thanks and also thanks for all the work you've put into this. I am so excited to finally start shedding the weight I have gained over the last nine years, finally feels like the right time!

Thanks for sorting this. Hi everyone. I really hope I can actually stick to this. I fail at everything else. I work 7.30-6.30 and it tends to be too early to eat. Do you have any brekkie ideas, please?

Hello. Can't wait for tomorrow, the first bc of the year was so successful for me!!
Question... what would roughly be a good time in the day to stop drinking water? I aim for 2.5l per day but it really disrupts my sleep as need to get up usually twice in the night for the loo. It's a real pain.
Would I feel yuk if I didn't have much fluid after say 4pm or is that too much water to consume in the hours before that?

feel I find if I stop by about 5.30/6.00 I'm ok, I started like you but it does get better. Now I generally need to get up once and I'm better at getting back to sleep.

Breakfasts can be difficult at first, eggs in all their wondrous forms is the obvious answer, but I also eat avocado frequently. This morning I'll have avocado dressed with olive oil, lime juice and plenty of salt, with some left over roast chicken.

I have a question re: carb count. Onions, for example, a large onion has about 13g of carbs. If I used one in a dish for 5, this takes each serving below the allowed 3g. Is this ok? It wouldn't be often, as I'm aiming for

feekerry re water, I don't think anyone can really advise you here, as everyone's body will react/respond differently! But I'd say that not drinking anything after 4pm isn't really a good idea. But try tailing off the amount you're drinking and see if that works.

Your body will get used to the amount of water, I promise you!

Pop yes that's fine - but why not use shallots instead? Onions are 7.9g carbs per 100g whereas shallots are only 3.3g. Makes a bit difference.

If you buy the echalion ones (also called banana shallots), they're bigger and easier to peel that those silly little round ones!

*BIWI as soon as I can get to the supermarket I plan on getting some- I'm just sorting out tonight's dinner and onions are all we have in. (not ALL we have in- I mean the only oniony things 😁)

I know nuts are not allowed but as almond milk is only .1g carb per 100ml is that ok?

Also I use my iPhone to track my weight, does any one know if it's possible to set goals or targets using the Health app? I can't see it as an option.

If anyone is looking for a low carb natural yoghurt that isn't FAGE try Onken Natural Set - it comes in at 3.4g of carbs per 100g.

For milk in tea which is best? I changed from skimmed to almond milk but just saw 'no nuts'..what is a better option on this please?

Almond milk is OK - it's relatively low carb.

... just make sure you get the unsweetened milk!

Does anyone track their food using my fitness pal? How do you complete your diary at the end of the day if you haven't had enough calories?

Low carbing isn't about calories! You really don't need to worry about them if you're low carbing.

I thought I was doing ok but I'm not sure.
Breakfast. Pint of water and a bowl of full fat yogurt

Lunch. Home made paneer masala. - a loads is spices, butter, crea, paneer, Tom purée. Pint of water

Tea spiced korma, with cashew nuts. No rice or bread
All homemade. Pint of water.

Tomorrows main in southern black pepper curry , probably with aubergines. (again home made with no added extras.

Can I ask does this sound reasonable? I'm not convinced.

Why aren't you convinced?!

I assume you're veggie? If you aren't - then you need to cut the cashew nuts out. If you are, then they're fine. Just keep an eye on the quantities.

The rest of it sounds lively, as long as there was lots of fat. And let me know where you live so I can come for dinner!

If you are a veggie can you eat nuts now then? I'm a veggie and was going to start eating them after week 2.

BIWI! I'm not sure why I'm not convinced! I guess I'm just getting used to it. Yes I'm a veggie!

I like my curries and have been using coconut oil and butter. Looking at the receipes it's made up mainly of spices , tomatoes and then protein, in my case paneer, feta and nuts.

I would normally have chick peas, various beans and lentils most days but I have dropped them for the time being.

In which case, it would be a really good idea to do some reading about low carbing. And also, Rose Elliott has written a vegetarian low carb diet, along with a recipe book. I haven't read her diet book, but the recipe book is great.

Are preserved lemons a big no-no? I know they are for the first two weeks when no fruit is allowed but what about after that?

I'm really struggling with water. I've never really drank it plain, always flavoured, as I really dislike the taste of plain water. Is there anything I can use as alternative to squash? (which I know isn't allowed) Thanks!
