... come and sign up here!

It's only an 8 week one this time, as I'm away sunning myself beforehand.

So it will be an extra strict one - you have been warned!

Whathaveilost · 19/10/2016 20:55

I would like to join and low carbing has been recommended to me. I'm a veggie. Would it work for me, I do have dairy products.

concretejungle · 19/10/2016 21:23

Please add me too.... Thanks.

TotalBlamBlam · 19/10/2016 22:48

Hello, please can someone add me to list. Many thanks.

Misssss · 20/10/2016 02:19

Please can someone add me to the list? I can't get the app to copy and paste. I love low carb but find it hard to stick to. I have a lot to lose and think this will help.

Needabiscuit · 20/10/2016 08:45

I would like to join too, I have 3 stone to lose by May! I can't copy and paste from phone

BIWI · 20/10/2016 08:54

Whathaveilost - no reason why it won't work for you, although it's obviously not as easy as if you're a carnivore, because if your diet is based round veg, then you'll be consuming more carbs.

However, if you eat eggs and cheese (and as long as dairy doesn't impede weight loss for you), then you should be fine.

If you go the Bootcamp topic, at the top is a stickied recipe thread and there are lots of lovely low carb recipes on there

OP posts:
BIWI · 20/10/2016 08:54

insertcoolusernamehere - this Bootcamp last for 8 weeks, but only the first two weeks are 'hardcore' Bootcamp. After that, we move on to Bootcamp Light anyway

OP posts:
BIWI · 20/10/2016 08:56

AmyC86 - welcome. Sorry to hear about your unsuccessful treatment. But low carb is supposed to be very helpful for PCOS sufferers, and we have had a number of Bootcamp/low carb babies over the years, so fingers crossed for you!

OP posts:
BIWI · 20/10/2016 08:57

MaryThorne - if you've been properly low carbing for a while, so you're genuinely switched into fat burning rather than carb burning, no you don't need to eat 3 meals a day. Just make sure you don't fall into the trap of snacking during the day instead.

OP posts:
BIWI · 20/10/2016 08:58

ASISAYNOTASIDO - if you read the thread, you'll see that just a few posts earlier than you I'd posted a whole load of information about what Bootcamp entails!

OP posts:
ReggaeShark · 20/10/2016 09:17

Lumbering back in. Have developed some bad habits since last boot camp and have a stinking cold, which is making me crave carbs and be too tired to cook. Gearing up for start day.

Please can I be added too? thx

43andcounting · 20/10/2016 13:29

Hello - looking froward to next week and thinking about shopping so im prepared. I realise I probably wont need to snack much but , at the moement, one of my favourite things to snack on is French saucisson sec from Sainsbo and I'm wondering if it is HFLC compliant.

The nutritional info per 100g is:

calories 406 kcal
fat 32.9 (12.7g saturates)
carb

SingingTunelessly · 20/10/2016 18:39

I'm definitely in BIWI. You helped me enormously on the first BC and I really need to get my increased butt into gear.

43, that is definitely HFLC so should be fine. Although BC is all about not using processed food so maybe be a bit careful with it. I'm assuming it is processed food btw sounds like it is. Grin.

Me please! I've been advised to keep off the wheat as we have finally worked out it's the cause of my chronic headaches. Also I have about 30kg to lose (89kg and 1.63 !)

MaryThorne · 20/10/2016 22:10

BIWI, yes I've been properly low carbing. I usually only have one or two meals a day apart from at weekends when I'm with family. I primarily need some fine tuning to get weight loss going again. Smile

Needabiscuit · 21/10/2016 07:51

How many grams of carbs are allowed per day? I can't find this info in the rules first timer

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 21/10/2016 08:04

I'd like to join please, if I could be added to the spreadsheet? I have a whole bunch of symptoms which no-one seems to be able to get to the bottom of, and I had thought it might be wheat/gluten, but got a negative yesterday for Coeliac Disease. But, i'm not totally convinced, so I'm up for LC to see if that makes a difference, and then add in various supplements one at a time, in case any of my low-but-still-normal vitamin levels are the problem.

One question though, if DH eats the LC meals I make, but then has carby meals out of the house, does it then work as huge numbers of calories (which is a problem) or will the LC fat burning thing still be working? I just have concerns that he increases butter/cream etc but still has pasties, biscuits etc at work, and meals out won't be LC either. And as he has no concept of portion size, or not eating what you want when you want it, I'm concerned Sad

girlrunningoncheese · 21/10/2016 08:13

I'm in, please!
Changed my diet to LCHF in July 2015 and it works really well for me, with the occasional day off (Christmas, my wedding Smile). I don't have much to lose but would like to get 5lbs off before our honeymoon at the end of December so need to be a bit stricter than usual - BC will be perfect!

needabiscuit (you're going to have to change that name!) there's no daily carb limit. It's impossible to set one, as people react differently to carbs. Some people can tolerate more than others.

Sadly the only way to find out is to try it.

But if you follow Bootcamp rules, and stick to the list of allowed veg, you'll be fine.

Myvisions

If he's going to eat like that then he's never going to get into fat-burning mode, I'm afraid. And the risk with high carb and high fat is that he's likely to gain weight.
