May I join? I was here last year, and did lose some weight, but like with any commitment, I did not last long. This time I think I am ready to commit- I need to commit. I have banned my family from buying me sweets and cakes- it's funny, we are all in agreement that I need to lose weight, and yet they are the ones that are always coming round with cakes ,knowing full well that I will not refuse. Anyway, that's just me rambling.

Yes please. Loved the last one but baby hasn't slept more than a couple of hours a night and I have hit the self destruct button with tons of sugar for the last few weeks.

This is how it works, in a nutshell:

Normally Bootcamp lasts for 10 weeks, but this one is starting a bit later than I would usually, so it will last for 8 weeks, so it will finish just before Christmas.

The first two weeks are the strictest, and then after that you can either:

  • move on to Bootcamp Light, which is a little more relaxed
  • choose to stay on Bootcamp if it suits you
  • choose a hybrid, i.e. Bootcamp during the week and Bootcamp Light at the weekend

We don't eat any of the following, during the whole 8 weeks:

  • potatoes
  • pasta/noodles
  • rice
  • bread or any bread products
  • pastry, or anything made with flour
  • sugar (which also includes honey, agave syrup, maple syrup)

And in the first two weeks, we also don't have any fruit, nuts, seeds or alcohol.

Each Monday I will start a new chat thread, and the OP will link to our spreadsheet, which the lovely wombattoo has agreed to oversee this time. You will (if you want to - it's not compulsory) add your weight each week, so that you can track your losses. On the spreadsheet, at the bottom, are lots of tabs which show you:

  • the rules of Bootcamp and Bootcamp Light
  • a list of carb counts for various vegetables (including a carb counter, so you can work out the carb count of the veg you're eating, if you want to)
  • a whole load of really helpful resources - books, blogs and links to videos - about low carbing, which will help you to get your head around low carbing

Low carbing isn't the easiest way to eat, because the world is generally arranged around carbs - look at any high street and see how much of the food we're buying/eating on the go is based on carbohydrate - but it's important that you stick to it as much as you can. It's not the most forgiving way of eating and, unlike low fat/calorie eating, you can't compensate at one meal for going off piste at another.

So you'll find that I'm very strict unforgiving about any transgressions Grin

Oh yes please BIWI! I can't believe it's a year since my first ever BC. I did quite well in the first half of this year but it's slowly creeping on again so need to get back into gear. I definitely need a big stick!

However, next week is half term and we're away for half of it with no access to any sort of kitchen. I'm also vegetarian. It's going to be awkward!

I'm very excited about bootcamp starting! I've stayed low carb since last bootcamp but my weight loss has stalled over the last few weeks and I need a bit of bootcamp discipline to get it moving again. I realised yesterday that having too many coffees with cream during the day has probably not helped Blush so now I'm restricting it to one first thing!

Yes please! Been on boot camp for six weeks. Was too scared to weigh self at start, but in last five weeks have lost 4.4kg. (Yay!). I did this originally 4 years ago and lost 30kg.

When I've tried to get back on the weapon before, I have found that because I thought I knew the rules, I wasn't as careful as I should be. And so didn't lose. Too much cheese and too many peanuts. This time I am being careful on portion size and peanuts and cheese. Much better! And running became easier about 3 weeks in. Onwards and downwards! Thank you as ever BIWI Flowers

any chance that I could join? I did follow my own version of low carb a few months ago and lost 8lb in 4 weeks but never got back into it. now Ive just got back from holiday and feel so uncomfortable in myself. I also have pcos & have been ttc with two unsuccessful cycles of clomid under my belt Sad
