Morning all. Welcome to the first day of summer Hmm

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness once again, for you to declare all.

Thankfully a bit of a quieter week for me, once today is over, so I can concentrate a bit more on food and do a bit of cooking and meal planning!

Hope all is going well, and that the scales have been kind to you this morning.

Sorry posted too soon.

What's the deal with xylitol and other sweeteners? Are they a huge nono on boot Camp? I'm really craving something pudding like but if it's off limits I won't.

Veryflummoxed · 25/06/2016 10:28

Or some food gas Marguritas Grin

Veryflummoxed · 25/06/2016 10:31

FlowersTitsa and well done on the scale victory.

FantasyFanGirl · 25/06/2016 10:49

Congrats Titsalina!

I was vegetarian for 16 years, then started eating fish again about 4 years ago. I am now thinking of eating meat again to make LC more manageable/ less boring - I don't think I can look at another egg! My reason for not eating meat was always that I don't want animals being raised (usually in poor conditions) and killed to feed me, and it still doesn't feel right. However it would make life easier and probably mean that my family would eat healthier food as I could just cook the same think for all of us. Any opinions?

BIWI · 25/06/2016 10:59

Titsalina yes, artificial sweeteners are off limits. There's some suggestion that the body can respond to them as if they're sugar. SO DON'T GIVE IN! You've done brilliantly, and we all want you to keep seeing 9 on the scales!

Congrats on your loss .titsalina and I'm sorry you are having such a hard time. Flowers

I've been so so so stupid. Won't go into it but I have fallen completely off the wagon and had bread, wine, crisps, chocolate, chips etc.

Feeling bloated and annoyed with myself.

Starting again today. Have two and a half weeks till we go on holiday so hopefully I can at least lose what I've gained in the last couple of weeks.

Have just had Greek yoghurt and blueberries for breakfast with some flaked almonds and ground flaxseed.

Lunch will be salad with a slice of ham and some egg mayonnaise.

Dinner will be steak and salad.

Water water water.

I need slapping. And hitting with the big stick. And more slapping.

Titsalinabumsquash · 25/06/2016 11:15

Ok no sweetener, I'll stick to Greek yoghurt for dessert. :)

It's the festival of speed here this weekend and the traffic is horrendous, I can't leave my road so I'm going got have to dive in the freezer to see what meat I have to go with my veggie box for meals today.

nekobus · 25/06/2016 14:10

Flowers Titsalina, you must be exhausted.

I'm going to be near a lidl for first time today - any must-have low carb bargains?

IndianaJone · 25/06/2016 14:27

Tits and cider Flowers

Nekobus I've recently discovered their full fat natural yogurt. The best one I've had so far and I believe lower in carbs than Farge.

StuntNun · 25/06/2016 14:34

Here you go Tits: Low Carb Berry Crumble.

Mookbark · 25/06/2016 14:58

Tits Flowers and congratulations on the 9. Hopefully, I'll get there one day.

Can everyone post their favourite websites for low carb recipes, please? I want to make a list, so that when I'm looking for new meals, I know where to look.
I'll start by mentioning that I use Paleoleap. It has the added advantage for me that it is mostly dairy free. As it's paleo, rather than truly lchf, there are some recipes that are not suitable, but I've found quite a few nice recipes. I have also used dietdoctor, which I know has been linked from here several times. Any more favourites? Thanks

BIWI · 25/06/2016 15:00

Moobark - have you not had a look at the recipe thread? It's stickied at the top of the Low Carb Bootcamp topic.

Yes, I have BIWI, but I'm always after more ideas.

nekobus · 25/06/2016 17:05

Mook I like www.ibreatheimhungry.com

FantasyFanGirl · 25/06/2016 17:21

I use KetoDiet app. Lots of recipes, most of the ones I've tried have been nice. There are quite a few treats that use stevia or erythritol so I have used those sweeteners, they are not meant to affect blood glucose.

WilfSell · 25/06/2016 17:31

Titsalina my top tip for pudding like is something I did last time round but am holding off myself until I'm really desperate as pretty full fat...

Whipped cream, really thick
Chopped Brazil nuts or other lower carb nuts
A sprinkling of either vanilla extract or cocoa powder

boldlygoingsomewhere · 25/06/2016 17:31

Ditch the Carbs is also quite good for recipes and can be followed on Facebook too.

WilfSell · 25/06/2016 17:34

Also has anyone used the recipe book by the I Quit Sugar woman. It has some sweeteners and lots of carbs in but also it looked like it had lots of interesting things in to, like breakfasts, smoothies, snacks etc. Like cauliflower popcorn! I was just rifling through it in the supermarket and wondering whether it was worth it for LCers. Any reviews?

bettyblueeyes83 · 25/06/2016 17:37

I have three Sarah Wilson books, I really like them. Haven't looked for LC recipes in them yet tho.

Veryflummoxed · 25/06/2016 22:44

Well the good news is I didn't eat anything g not allowed today. The bad news is I ate everything in the wrong quantities, at the wrong time and in the wrong way

For example breakfast was ff Fage yogurt at 2 30 am

Dinner I was back on track with green dressed salad, prawns, haloumi, avacado, 3x cherry toms. Mayo.

In between was a random assortment of cucumber, beef, cheese, coffee with cream, I can't remember anything else but am sure I snacked all day

I blame it all on needing to be awake half the night and a change in my routine.

Veryflummoxed · 25/06/2016 22:48

Oh I remember two eggs fried with grated cheese on. That was nice.

regularbutpanickingabit · 26/06/2016 04:21

LEG CRAMPS!!!!!!
Has anyone suffered? Terrifying episode half an hour ago (hence ridiculous post time) when both legs went but in muscles on the sides of my calves so forcing my feet up into unnatural angles.

I drank prosecco and gin. More than I have in 6 weeks. Is this dehydration?? An extreme reaction?? A very good way to help keep me off it if so!

Proud not to have strayed off the food path. Not at all proud of theslovohol consumption levels. Am hot and sweaty and scared of going back to sleep.

Suitably chastened.

Veryflummoxed · 26/06/2016 05:48

Ouch! Flowers

StuntNun · 26/06/2016 07:47

Regular leg cramps can be a sign of magnesium deficiency.

regularbutpanickingabit · 26/06/2016 08:36

Thanks guys. What would be a good food source for magnesium, stunt? Need to invest in some supplements tomorrow.
I know my mum always swore by bananas for mineral deficiencies and I have some here but obviously not Boot Camp suitable!
